The staff were very informative and willing to help, I showed up at closing time, and the cash drawer had been pulled. She gave me 2lbs of shrimp and said good luck fishing No one does that anymore. Fish cleaning station open to the public. Catch and release at the dock

Great place to stay if you are there to go fishing or crabbing. High Ceilings, extra large rooms, cute décor, comfy beds, and the staff is great. We had a couple of small issues with our room, but they were fixed immediately. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Looking for a room near water? Then it's perfect. Some rooms have kitchen, some have microwaves. Grill outside. Clean and roomy.

We have begun staying here fairly often. All the rooms and amenities in the rooms are different so we aren't ever quite sure what we are going to get when we get new rooms, but they are clean and someone is usually about if we need extra towels. Marina usually has bait (although ask, sometimes on Sundays they do not). Nice fish cleaning area and most other visitors are friendly and considerate. No water to wash fishing gear or boats in though which is a problem when you're traveling as far as we do. We'd like to get that stuff washed off before going home. Feels like a safe place but we did have our truck license plate stolen one weekend (could happen anywhere).

Always a good place to fish out of at Calcasieu. Hotel rooms are nice and clean. Bait and ramp right there. Big ice machine right at the corner. First access is to the intercostal so you can get around decent when it’s windy. You can also go west under the bridge back into Black Lake. Staff is always helpful. Only issue in Hackberry is limited food. Sulphur is about 20 minutes.

My only complaint is the bait is pricey. I know it's a marina but you can buy twice as much anywhere else for what they charge for bait. The boat docks and tie ups are awesome. The store and bait shop are clean.

My husband & I booked a last minute revised vacation here due to Hurricane Nate. From previous experiences, the rooms stay booked well in advance. We were lucky enough to have called after a last minute cancellation and was able to book a 4 day stay at the Duck Blind cabin. Check in was simply letting the lady at the office know we had arrived. She told us the cabin was open & ready for us! We walked in to a nice & clean cabin that had the ac already turned down for us and the TV on. The cabin consisted of a good size bathroom with a shower, a bedroom that consisted of 2 twin beds, living room with queen size pull out bed, dining room and a fully furnished kitchen. It was PERFECT! The lady at the store/Office, was so very pleasant! The store on site sold sodas/snacks/fishing supplies/apparel. But if she didn’t have what you needed, there was a grocery store that had a deli and sold several different already made lunches less than a 1/2 mile down the road. A bigger town of Sulphur was just 15miles away for bigger items if needed. There was a free boat launch for the guest with only a 1/4 mile boat ride to the shipping channel. Just an amazing vacation getaway! We’re already planning another trip next year!

What a cute, quaint room this is. Very clean. The lights & TV was left on for us. All the amenities of a 5 star, only better. It's out of the way & that's what we wanted.I might suggest sewing fishing weights into the bottom of the curtains by the AC to keep from blocking the airflow. But other than that. It's perfect.

Great place clean rooms and awesome rates. As another reviewer stated. The curtains need to be tied back as to not block the A/C but other than that. Really nice fish camp.

Very nice clean place to fish enjoy doing a little bit of night fishing the other night didn't really catch much but I still enjoyed it I love how clean they clean keep the place I highly recommend it.

Our fishing camp is located pretty darn close. Spicers is a great spot to get live shrimp in the early morning for ultimate chances for a good catch. Get there early sometime they sell out of live shrimp.

Clean. Motel is basic but roomy. Has fridge and microwave. DishTV. Pits outside rooms. Bring bug spray and any special items you need. Only two very small and basic stores in area.

Love this place year round for lodging during our weekend hunting and fishing trips, single basic flat rate year round so you know what you are gonna get, plus it's pet friendly for your 4 legged hunting buddies.

Always buy bait here and launch from their location once in a while. If you want live bait get there early usually all gone by 0530. I think you can make it into black bayou from their location. Never gone that way though.

We have been doing busness with these guys since 1999 very nice people. The owner is a local to Hackberry. Just don't ask the fishing guids about how the fishing is, they always say its great!

Here for work, the lady at the store was very friendly and it felt like talking to family, the bait shop attendant was also very friendly and helpful. They had ample turning room for or 30ft crew boat and trailer

I was a tourist from Minnesota buying a temporary fishing license and some shrimp for bait the staff was very friendly and treated me like family I was able to take pictures and watch the shrimp boat unload it’s fresh catch very cool experience

I edited the rating. Marina gets 4 stars. Motel gets 1 star because of 2 things; the shower stall is so small, you cant move around & there's no sound barrier coming from the store.

I don't know anything about the motel but what I do know is we went on a fishing trip with a guide from back Waters and it was amazing
