Man such a awesome bike shop to deal with after spending days online trying to find a SE bike . I called them after countless attempts with other shops n they had just the bike I was looking and held it for me til I could get there the next day to pay for it and take it home !!! Excellent customer service also !!! Highly recommend these guys for all your bike needs !!!

Very helpful and was patient enough to hear my wants for a new Sun three wheel bicycle. Got a basket for my dog, turned out to be too small and they replaced it for another larger basket and also installed fenders on the rear wheels. Pick up and delivery for these services pleased me to the Max. I am well pleased.

Went a few days ago and purchased the coolest bike I have ever seen, great price awesome service. Purchased the SE D’Block 29’ Bmx bike that I thought I was to big for but upon arrival to my surprise the bike was made for me.

I came in to ask for an appointment to have bike tuned up. He said there was a three week wait. I said, "Awesome, can I make an appointment three to four weeks from now. I use my bike daily and it benefits no one to have it sit for three weeks in a back room."He arrogantly responded with, "Sorry man, I can't do that. It would be unfair to the 45 bikes ahead of yours."Questions to ponder:1. Why aren't you able to accept appointments one month out when your backlog is only three weeks?2. Why don't you offer a premium for expedited service?Previous comments to other recent reviews point to how long the shop has been around and how he overcharges to meet his costs.I am disappointed in the service I received from this establishment. I love supporting local businesses, however, this place will never see my business under any circumstance.Dear Small Business Owner,Having a positive attitude and greeting customers with smiles can go a long way.

Maybe the service is good, but I can’t get beyond the AWFUL service on the phone. Today was my 3rd and final try. In the last year I’ve contacted this place for different needs and EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. the person who answered was so rude and short I moved on. I want to use them because I currently live on the Westbank. My bike was purchased from Eastbank Cyclery and The Pedal Shop is more conveniently located. Today I called and asked if there were any appointments for a fitting. I received a very short, “NO!”. The other 2 calls were pretty much the same.

About two weeks or three weeks ago, I brought my bike in to replace a tire tube, and install a new odometer. I was so ecstatic with the service . The lady at the counter, both when I dropped off the bike, and again when I picked it up, was wonderful. She was kind, professional and efficient. The service man was the best ever! I've gone there for many, many years, but this is the first time my bike came back to me spotless. I planned on cleaning it when I got home, but didn't have to because it was already cleaned. Also, the service was promised and done in one day, and they even called to let me know when it was ready! The service man loaded it in my car, as it is rather difficult to do. He went above and beyond and I was so much more than pleased! Couldn't have asked for better service.Given all this, I highly recommend The Pedal Shop!

I came here last week and the customer service provided at this location is Amazing. I felt welcomed. I given a tour of shop and given helpful information. I was quoted a price to fix my bearings and a time-frame given the pandemic. I highly recommend patronizing this business. In the same day I went over the bridge to downtown to two other bike shops the first was closed and the second bike shops stared i would have to purchase a new rim because they didn't repair bearings.

Needed adjustment on new Ebike that we bought online. Called and told to just bring it by. Dropped it off and it was ready in 2 days. Fixed and reasonably priced. Nice to have somewhere that was willing to work with us!

I arrived at closing time and still received great customer service in regards to buying a bike. The guy was knowledgeable and did not push the upsale. I did not end up buying a bike, but it was because the bike I liked most was already sold.I'll update my review after attempting to have them service the bike I bought used.

Have used The Pedal Shop twice now for 4 different bikes, and I've always been very satisfied with the service and knowledge of the staff. Pricing is fair and no complaints there, either. They even take time to help load my bikes on the rack for me. Highly recommend.

Knowledgeable, Friendly and comfortably Priced.I received a bike for free from a friend. The only catch was that I had to get it shipped to NOLA from NC. I contacted Paul at The Pedal Shop and worked out all the details. My bike arrived on Tuesday, I came in on Thursday to pay for the build - and it was done (and fixed!) that afternoon. The bike is better than ever.

I purchased a new wheel and had to rebuild it myself. I was handed my old wheel and had to transfer the linear, inner tube, and the tread on my own. I'm not sure if this was a one time ordeal but I was surprised that I had do the installment work. I'll definitely go back for repairs, but will have to check if the shop will do the work or if I will have to.

I recently purchased a Mountain Bike online and after getting it thought to take it to a professional shop for assembly with was minor but never the less. I brought it to The Petal Shop on a Wednesday and was told it would be three days before I got it back, I laughed as I thought it was a joke but paid for the service and left, Saturday rolls around and I come to the shop to hear that it may be Monday until I get the bike back. I ask if they were making me a bike verse just a simple put together job and one of the staff members was apologetic while the Manager said nothing. 30 minutes later I get a call from one of the staff members whom apologized again and saying that the bike will be fixed today and that they would call me. Saturday I didn't get a call so Monday about 4:00pm I came in the shop and ask if my bike was fixed or give me my bike and my money and I'll take it some where else to get it fixed, finally I get my bike. I will never take anything up to their shop again, The Worse Service Ever!

I bought a bike from them in 2011 they were very pleasant and helpful selling me the bike. When I went back to get brakes adjusted last week the guy that works there was short with me on the phone. When I dropped the bike off he gave me a ticket and said he would call me when it was done; he didn't call and I had to call him. THEN THE BRAKES STILL PERFORMED THE SAME WAY as before. I will just refer to youtube.

The Pedal Shop at 1600 Lafayette St. & Luna Bicycles at 29 Westbank Expressway are owned by the same people. They have saved me when I was in a bind twice now 1st time Last year my bike caught a flat when I was loaded down with groceries & The Luna Bicycle people were So Nice & Helpful when I found them. I pretty much was broke & they said they could still help me. They showed me how to repair the damaged inner tube & then while I was doing that he fixed the flat with a new inner tube & DIDN'T CHARGE ME FOR ANYTHING. They were MUCH-NEEDED Angel Guardians that day. The yesterday,1/4/2019, I really needed a bike to do some errands because mine was stolen from Walmart on Manhattan Blvd. New Year's Eve. It's my only transportation, so I can get groceries, do errands,& go pay bills, etc. So when I knew my errands were far apart from each other, I take a chance and stopped at the pedal shop, not realizing they were owned by the same people at Luna & checked to see if they might rent bicycles. They were so nice&friendly, said that they did rent bikes. $25 for a day(1 day considered to be their Hours of Operation 10am-6pm),saving my butt Again,& it came with a good lock to use. Getting it & returning it was easy. So if u want a really great bike that will last & Super Great Customer Service then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEIR STORES. The bikes they sell are WORTH the higher price.

The owner was nice. The shop itself was clean & pleasant to be in. They had a good variety of bike brands & they will work on bikes not purchased from them 👌 They get only 4 stars because they're just a tad bit pricy - but you get what you pay for. Conveniently located on the West bank so I didn't have to go all the way into NOLA.

Just left the store... and I won't be back again. This is the second time going to the store and I have not been met with good customer service either time. It's not that they're not friendly it's the lack of willingness to truly help. The first time was a few years back when I was shopping for a bike myself. I described what I was looking for and basically the gentleman just stood there not really helping to find me the right fit. Luckily I ended up at another shop 30 mins away where I bought my Electra Townie. Today I go in looking for a decent seat for my daughter as hers is uncomfortable for her. She is currently using my Townie seat but we're taking a trip where we are bringing both bikes so she needs a replacement. I've already bought her two (that I couldn't return) that are still uncomfortable for her. When we walked in we were pointed towards the seats. My concern was that the seat looked too big for her so I asked if we were able to put it on a bike so she could see how it felt. I was told it was " theoretically possible" ....hmm...really?ok. Interesting response but tried to brush it off as a joke as I didn't think a salesman would say that. So I then I say that I've bought her two seats and I don't want to buy a third without her trying it... again no budge about putting the seat on a bike to see. He points at a bike in front of her saying it's like the same seat on the wall...but the bike was to big for her to sit on. We walked the lil circle looking for a smaller bike but nothing for her to try. When he asked me what the complaint was he told me " it sounds like you're looking for a seat that doesn't exist". My daughter has issues with the crotch area hurting and the padding not being good enough. I get that no bike seat is 100% comfortable... but with me telling him my Townie seat works for her...I think it's obvious its possible to find a match. That was my heads up it was time to say thank you & leave. Looks like I'll be taking that 30 min trip again.UPDATE: 30 minutes & $50 later...she has her seat.

Called in the morning for a tire repair. Brought it in and said they would have it fixed for 2 that afternoon. Came in at 2. It was fixed. Paid and left. Very business like. No banter. Can’t complain. My bike is fixed.

Ms. Talbot,I am sorry that your perception of our shop is a negative one. First of all, we could not stay in business for 44 years by ripping off our hard working West Bank customers. I am very familiar with your situation because my wife got me involved with your dilemna of having a foreign convertible sports car that would not accept a hitch mounted rack. She informed me that you bought a basic trunk mounted rack from us during the interim period while you searched for a hitch rack. I looked extensively for not only a rack to fit your car but also a hitch that would work, to no avail. I apologize for that. It is hard for me to accept failure.Now, to speak directly to your point regarding the cost of the rack that you bought, that happens to be a rack that Walmart and Academy began selling recently. The bike industry has fallen on tough times and the brands that only used to be sold in bike shops are now being sold by the big box merchants. What some of the manufacturers have done is sell large quantities of their product to the Walmart's of the world at less than my cost. They do this to keep their doors open. The price that you quoted from Walmart is correct. They now sell that rack to the consumer at my cost. The bike industry, out of desperation has recently shown a tendency to do this with a few other products as well. The bicycle shops, the ones who have kept the bike industry going for so long are now their step-children. Fortunately, there are only a few bike accessory companies that have adopted this practice. This practice of selling at two different prices through two different distribution channels confuses the customer and the business owner!I am more than willing to show you my cost at any time on that rack to prove what I am saying is correct. I am also willing to refund your money at any time. You are my customer. I much rather have you as an advocate than an adversary. Unlike the big box stores, The Pedal Shop cares what you think. Thank you for your patronage.
