I wouldn't have never noticed this place if it wasn't for someone recommending it to me and I am so thankful they did. We were in town for a trip and stopped by and it was so comfortable and warm. The art was beautiful and they even have a little library inside. I plan on coming back many times to try more of the menu but the shrimp quesadillas and tomato and basil soup was delicious! I also tried their watermelon tea. It was delicious (warning for their flavored tea they use unsweet tea so just ask for it sweet) The quesadilla had shrimp, onions, bell peppers, cheese, and this sauce that was just delicious. The soup also came with this red tortilla (I think) that was cut into strips. We also got side fries that were so yummy. When we were done we placed a second order to bring some home. I honestly can't sing their praises enough!

I love trying new places! They do have free wifi available so you can enjoy using the internet. I thought the cafe was really nice. The employee greeted us as we were making a food selection.I chose the breakfast quesadilla. The tomato flour tortilla tasted great! My first time eating one since I usually spinach or wheat. The grits were perfect. I also had one of their specialty coffee "The Mona Lisa". It is a good spot for breakfast!

First time in New Orleans from New York. It’s! Looking for grits and came across this gem. Cute cafe to sit and have breakfast and lunch. Friendly staff. Comfortable setting. Great food. I had a sausage egg n cheese quesadilla on a tomato tortilla. Amazing. Cheese grits as my side. Also amazing. Will definitely come again for the ambiance and the grubs. 👍🏿👍🏿

Absolutely amazing food, stunning service, and a great back patio to enjoy all the delicious coffee options! Unmatched food quality and nothing but awesome menu selections. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to eat healthy, but still actually enjoy what they are eating! Love this spot!!! The only complaint I have is that they are closed on the weekends which I’m sure will be resolved as COVID is calming down and people are finally returning to work ✌🏼

Got the Nola omelette with potatoes and the Hampton potatoes. Both with marble rye and two spring fever coffees. Food was expertly made and the fruity coffee warmed the soul and I have no doubt that even though we got hot coffee, it would have been excellent cold. The crab cakes in the omelette did not over power the rest of the favors and the eggs in the Hampton were cooked perfectly over easy.

I had a small chicken and walnut salad with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing and a regular coffee. The salad had a lot of chicken in it and it was very good. The coffee was good too.The service is Excellent! They are very attentive to taking care of guests. Our coffee was given to us before we left the counter. Our salads were served not long after we ordered and sat down. We were given a refill of our coffee after finishing the first cups.The interior is delightfully decorated and there are separate sections to sit down to read or to visit with friends.I’ll definitely be going back in the future.Everything looked very clean and well organized.Staff is very nice and welcoming!

First off I wanna say I'm such a cheeseball for waiting all these years to try this place... I've TRULY been missing out on a little gem in my neck of the woods. I ordered my food online, went in, and picked it up. Although I was there just a few minutes, the atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting. The ladies were rockin' out to 80's music and you could NEVER geaux wrong jammin' to 80's music. When I got there my food was ready and the lady made my iced Americano fresh. She was really sweet and brought everything to me when it was ready... There are a few places around here that could learn from this place when it comes to customer service!! I ordered the burger and fries and it was simply amazing! The prices are reasonable as well. Let me not forget that iced Americano was AMAZING! I'll be back soon.

Great little down home restaurant that feels like you grandmother's cottage. Perfect eggs Benedict, grand breakfast platter, superior coffee special drinks. Grits, oatmeal, toast all prepared the skill and attention. Can't say enough about the place and the feel it creates to gather with friends for a quality breakfast. The art on the walls depicts the same personal dedication to this place that we love it.

Whoever is in the kitchen at this spot knows what they are doing! My husband is sooooo picky, especially about his French toast, and he LOVED it. I had the French Country Breakfast and it was so delicious. To top it off, service was excellent. Staff was welcoming and friendly, and patient with all my husband’s questions. We will be eating here any time we visit Gonzales!

I wish I had taken pictures. I got the French deal with potatoes and eggs and what not. Amazing. My wife got a shrimp wrap with tons of fresh flavor. French toast is the best I've had due to them not over sweetening and cooking perfectly with high quality bread. This is how breakfast should be done. It's sad that I've waited so long to come here.

Delicious Breakfast! Did not disappoint!! Had a NOLA Omelette…loaded with crab cake (and shrimp!), Gouda cheese atop, wonderful grits on the side! Coffee was delicious too! There was a tempting chocolate ganache in the display…hard to pass up!

I went a few weeks ago for the first time. Although I grew up in the area, I had never visited the place. I'm a little disappointed that I missed out on good food and friendly staff for so many years!The portion sizes were large, the food was tasty, and the service, although somewhat disorganized, was very good. It was disorganized only because the two women there asked us the same questions a few times. There could have been more communication between them, but they made sure that we were happy.The atmosphere was just a tad dark for what I like, but as a cafe, it was cozy. I think the idea of a cafe/lunch place was what made me think of it as dark. There are murals and scenes on the walls and the tables, which brightened up the atmosphere considerably.They have a good selection of teas, which I prefer and appreciate. They gave me recommendations, and I enjoyed my selection. Breakfast and lunch were being served at the time of my visit, and my party of three enjoyed our selections from both menus.I was a little confused by the ordering procedure. I don't know if I missed the sign, but orders are taken at the counter, not at the table. My party realized when we saw another party come in behind us and order before sitting down.I was most impressed by the dill dressing on the pasta salad. I didn't know that I liked dill before that dish!

This place is absolutely fabulous! What a quaint New Orleans feel in this little town. Such a nice place to wind down and have a bite. My favorite is the star garden salad and tomato basil soup (it's on the sweet side, which I love). But I also really enjoy the home made desserts and the fact that everything is local. Love love love this little place 💕

Was at Gonzales tire across the street and was starving, they recommended this place said it was really good, especially the chicken salad croissant. Was not disappointed, and since then have eaten there many times, a great friendly staff with awesome food and great prices . Funny thing was that my sister has lived in Gonzales for 5 years and had never eaten there because she thought it was just a coffee shop. Now it is a family favorite and a great place for a quiet meal where you can meet and actually have some time with friends or family in a great atmosphere.

Hidden GEM for breakfast!If you’re tired of the Waffle House loud environment, long wait, and belly ache after....If you’re tired of the long line at Cajun village along with cramped space, and of course the fast food places are a NO for breakfast!THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING & our first visit was 5+ stars for the service and food!The 2 ladies behind the counter were very helpful and very attentive! Ordered a ton of food for 5 people and had 0 mistakes - everything was great! We will be back - I’m just ashamed I’ve been here over 20 years and never knew about this place!Do yourself a favor and be there at 10:30 on Saturday when they open - you won’t be disappointed!

I had a wonderful time at starlite! They always have such good healthy and lite options (as well as burgers if you prefer something on the heavier side) as well as coffee flavors and sweet treats! My fiancé and I go there all the time and absolutely adore the staff! Same hard working 2 girls every time! Thank y'all so much for the fantastic experience.
