It's been a while since I had gone. So they definitely have more things in the store. I love going to Nichols, if I went more I would be poor. They took out the old cash registers and built an new area with two new registers.

DeQuincy: 11/18/23 today we were in town for a family reunion. Went to buy a new gun (100% set on buying) for my Christmas gift. Went and stood at the gun counter squinting to see the tags on the rifles and was totally ignored. There was nobody else at the counter except me and two employees. Both ignored me. A gentleman wakes up and was not even at the counter and they asked if he needed help. He looked at the kid behind the counter and said “I think this gentleman may need help, he’s been standing here”. Only then did the kid behind the counter ask if I needed help. I was at two stars because of the horrible experiences at the leesville store. Now they get one star. If I could give zero I would. I don’t know who runs this company but they need to come up with some training. I’m done with nichols as a whole. As someone who buys a gun for pretty much every chance I get, I’ll find a small shop to use. HIRE BETTER PEOPLE.Leesville :Last few trips there I’ve gotten the feeling like the emphasis isn’t on the customer unless you’re buying a $1000 gun. Last two times I’ve gotten the feeling that the sporting goods section thinks I’m going to steal something. Asking to see something usually now seems like the employees are bothered. Can’t see prices on scopes at all. I usually go in, ask for something and if it’s not in, look for a replacement. This has been my go to, 100% place for all my hunting and shooting stuff. I can’t remember (up until my last two trips) ever walking out without at least $75-$100 (if not more) worth of gear. I hate to say that my hunting and shooting needs will have to be met somewhere else.

I'll start off saying I love Nichols. Been shopping there for years an they would get a 5 star rating if it were not for one thing..its hot as mfer in there!!! Its like they dont have an Air Conditioner in there at all. Hard to enjoy the experience when you cant breathe because of the heat.its Louisiana we need Ac. I feel sorry for the workers because they are mostly friendly people and the owners have always been kind,but it's miserable in there. They need to fix this issue fast!!

I generally like this business and had previously given a positive review. However, I am leaving this less than glowing comment in the spirit of constructive criticism. Nichols has a great selection of guns for hunting, sport or self defense. My issue is with the idiotic way in which the handguns are kept and displayed. There is one display case with three shelves. You can see the top shelf pretty well, even though the guns are a bit crowded in. The second and third shelves (where the nicer guns are) are absolutely impossible to even look at. I saw a guy in his late 50s or early 60s actually get down on his knees just to see what the heck they have in stock. There are probably 25k of guns just piled up on top of each other on the two lower shelves. There is no doubt in my mind but that they could triple their gun sales if they would just give their customers the respect of making the product visible. I suppose they expect people to shop online and then come to the store and buy but it doesn't work that way. I would rather buy from someone who shows respect for me as a comsumer. The management needs to wake up and see how ineptly this whole thing is being handled. It is a crying shame.

I always enjoy shopping at Nicholas when in town. Love that have a little of everything - nice home decor, hunting,cooking, hardware, clothing. Employees are always friendly as well. Highly recommend.

Great store for just about everything. Hunting and sporting goods in abundance! They've got you covered whether you're an ever-weekend-in-the-woods-or-on-the-lake type or just need something for a weekend with friends at the lake. They have it here. And, hardware-they have it, too. I also saw some gift items up front, too, as well as some furnishings. Great place to stop and shop.

Love the odds and ends, the notions, candles, and the women's section is so awesome. You could browse for days. For the men, pistols, rifles, shotguns, fishing gear, deer stands etc. They have something for everyone. Friendly employees and they really do stand behind their products.

When you shop here be ready for big a variety of items. They have some of the best prices on their plumbing products, in the area. The employees are very helpful but not as friendly as you might would expect. But all in all it is a good shopping experience.

They had a crazy selection of very different stuff like an old department store of an army post exchange or PX. The hunting selection was huge I went in for a couple tools for a job and they had some of what I needed. The staff was very helpful when they were needed. The prices were a little high though I thought. If you want knick knacks this is the place for you!
