A wonderful gem in this part of our great country. Individual art expression embraced by the community is always a pleasure to experience. Memories take time to make, so make the drive with your family and have a picnic. Restoration is in process from storm damage. Keep up the good work, going to be worth it.

Many years ago I had the pleasure of watching him work on this beautiful & peaceful garden. He was very reclusive and kept to himself... I was visiting during the very early morning and he was working on the lighthouse part. Ask him if I could take photo's and his only request was none taken of him. Truly a place where you can sit & reflect. Picture's taken many years ago when he was just finishing up - unsure of year but was in full color and recently done.

Beautiful and Unique! When you walk in, you feel like you've been transported to a fairy tale. The man who did this had incredible talent! Very beautiful. We went on a Saturday, wasn't very busy at all. There was a student/ park employee there answering questions and telling the story behind it. Absolutely recommend!! I plan to go back. Lots of benches to sit on and just take it all in.

Quaint, out of the way, roadside attraction. Beautiful setting along the bayou. Very peaceful. Somewhat macabre, as you could tell through the expression of the sculptor that there must be some internal conflicting process going on in his mind. The garden seems to have many themes and tell many stories, however, most are left up to the viewer’s own interpretation. It’s worth the stop especially for the beautiful scenery along the way. Admission is free. Guided tours are on weekends from 11-4. Open every day from sunrise to sunset.

Beautiful place I wish it could be moved to historic Houma. It makes you think about where did the artist go? I hope they preserve it and redo the damage the storm did to it.

Such an interesting back story about artist Kenny Chauvin and his sculpture garden. Otherworldly and creative. A must see in person experience. We had a small picnic under a tree in the garden. Highly recommend.

Cool place just smaller than I expected, but the artwork and statues is quite intriguing. If you are in the area I’d recommend swinging by, but I wouldn’t go out of your way to check it out.

I was there for the sculpture garden fest that is in conjunction with the boat blessing. They have Cajun music, bee cool was there with the snow ball trailer, and there was a Vietnamese food truck there. Several arts and craft booths and it was a good day to relax.

This is a spiritual story depicted in sculptures by Kenny Hill, a Vietnam Veteran who started sculpting in 1988 on a vacant lot in Chauvin along the bayou. It is presently maintained by Nicholls State University. Its uniqueness is one of its qualities! It makes a nice daytrip combined with lunch at a nearby restaurant.

I just love the art work and it’s a shame that the garden survived the storm and sadly it got damaged by some people . Just a few pieces broke but I really like the sculptures

This is a fascinating and surprising place. Outsider art on the side of the bayou in rural Louisiana. Free, open dawn-dusk, and well worth the visit if you're in the area.

Eccentric art in a free display for those willing to make the trip; free tours by the people who help with the restoration and maintenance of the artwork. The artist had an odd infatuation with eagles.

I love this place. It was beautiful and the short story told of the creator is heartbreaking.

It is small, but so incredibly evocative and thought provoking that it is absolutely worth a visit. There is a small museum across the street from the garden dedicated to preserving the history of the garden and its enigmatic creator, which also includes historical pictures. The garden was sadly damaged by Hurricane Ida, so I would heavily recommend visiting to see it as it was and as it is now. Overall an amazing experience!
