I tried the following items from this place : hogs head cheese, stuffed crab, stuffed seafood bell pepper, hot sausage and Italian sausage and muffuletta . The sausages and muffuletta were good. As far as the stuffed items, they were very bready with no seafood flavor. The spicy hogs head cheese was not impressive to me, but for those who like a dense and meaty hogs head cheese, you will like it; but it lacked the seasonings that makes an outstanding hogs head cheese.

You can never go wrong with quality service and food! The nice lady in the deli area packaged my items very well for my travel back to Texas. I brought back frog legs too! I’ll have my own backyard Cajun Fest! 🤣 I try to visit whenever I’m home, but I’m usually too busy on Saturdays and they’re closed on Sundays. I was happy to have made it this Saturday. ☺️

This is a gracious 5-star (could be a 4-star) because this based on one journey into Chalmette.It's not a huge market but it's more like a corner store with some basic grocery items, a solid selection of eateries, and prepared foods for take out to cook at home. Nice people. I asked about Dong Phuong king cakes (Jan 2023), and they have them delivered most days (not Tue or Sunday). Limit is 2 and usually sell out by 9am but..if there is no line, you can pick up more.Happy searching and eating.

Running my errands and at approximately 10:30am got hungry for a succulent roast beef sandwich and I enjoyed whole heartedly. Added some onion rings. Was home for an early lunch. Please forgive no pictures. Believe me when I say it was delicious. No matter with or without gravy the meat was tender and bread soft. Try one.

Great food from Joey's! Love ❤ there lunch specials they are delicious! Prices are a little high but as they say You get what you pay for! Meat market very good, prices are moderate. Prepared chicken salad is to die for!

Great. There meets are excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. Only thing I hate is when they slice me the end of the Joey's ham. There's a lot of pieces of fat and some other hard pieces that we don't like.

Customer service behind the meat counter is horrible at times. Cleanliness when dealing with customer meat is a must. Gloves need to be changed regularly when cutrinf people meat and especially when you've been scratching your hair or your nose.

I love their low-fat chicken salad and their corn and crab soup that you can get in their deli section. They also make a really good garlic roast beef. The only reason I'm raiting it with 4 starts is because they run out of the roast beef pretty quickly. But if you're in Chalmette, pass by and check them out!

The only place I've found Cajun-Garlic roast beef & they have gravy containers available if you're wanting to make your own roast beef poboys.Also, I love their pre-prepped meat selections for a dinner that is amazing & you didn't have to go through all the work of preparing it. Just buy & bake 😆

Joey's ham is the best! Ask for that particular brand. Their homemade roast beef is wonderful. Can get it stuffed with garlic or without. Be sure to buy the cartons of fresh gravy to go with it. Nobody beats Joey's ham or the fresh baked roast beef.

The greatest deli in Louisiana! The best service. The owner, Joey always says hello to me and asks if he can help me with anything. They have a wonderful selection of other food also. Use their catering services too!! Get the artichoke balls, finger sandwiches, and mini muffalettas!! Don't forget to stop by Joey's grill for the best lunch in Chalmette!!

Love this place! You know the food is good when it's so packed you can't find parking. Wish they stayed open later so I can swing by after work. Everyone is always so nice and helpful so that's always a plus.

I've been going to Jeanfreaus meats for years I love stopping by there and grabbing their garlic roast beef or their head cheese or even their tongue all their meats excellent and the service incredibly quick you're in and out and anything you get you enjoy love their food

My Go To Place for Roast Beef (my fav is the garlic), Chicken salad, stuffed chops with artichoke dressing, hog head cheese, mardi gras dip,The meat market is good for your basic needs and has pickle meat and sausage. They make their own Itallian and hot sausage patties on site.Love everything here. Good for lunch. Prices are reasonable.

Their Italian and Hot sausage both cannot be beat; the flavor is perfect and the heat from the hot sausage isn't overpowering at all. Great people, service, and food!

I got the Swiss melt burger after reading the reviews. It was so-so. The patty was overcooked (heavily charred on one side), and the it had the gravy, sauteed onions, and swiss on top. You can't really save an overcooked burger no matter what you throw on top.I saw a LOT of people eating the roast beef poboy. I think that is the thing to order.

Do they not have call waiting? Been trying to reach the grill for over thirty minutes keep getting a busy signal the crazy thing is THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME!!!! No they aren’t that busy to have phone lines tied up for that length of time I’ll drive into the city to get what I need instead since they can answer phones in a timely matter.

Great service, great food at a very fair price, nice lil atmosphere in da parish, great people who work there, i was served by shelby, she went to school with my daughter, very helpful, couldn't meet a sweeter person, a hard worker and very polite not only to myself, but to others as well, anyone who hasn't tried this place doesn"t know what they're missing, give it a shot and i promise you that you'll be back soon, but remember now, the diner closes at 3 pm , hope everyone in da parish gives jeanfreau's a shot at least one time, thanks jeanfreau's the barbecue beef was out if this world 😃😃😃
