MANAGER ACTED EFFICIENTLY AND REVIEWED THE VIDEOS TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED. SHE APOLOGIZED FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.“Very poor service. I went to get 12 bottles of champagne and no one helped me to guide me where the champagne bottles were. I was not familiar with the lay out of the store. Because of bad weather store was essentially empty. All check out lanes were empty with employees standing idly and talking with each other. I asked one employee for help and she just told me that wines are not her department. Then after complaining about no help, one young man, named Jevon, was very nice and curteous and left his checkout lane to help me find the champagne bottles. Thanks Jevon. I am updating my review to 3 star because of Jevon”

Plenty of parking the baskets are picked up regularly from the parking lot I easily found the prepared sandwiches that I was looking for for myself and those I was working with along with the particular type of chips that they had asked for. The staff inside was very helpful and friendly and quickly help me to check out and leave the store. I wish it was close to my house as I would use that as my grocery store exclusively!

They really are a great store! The prices may be a bit higher, but totally worth it for the convenience and kind employees. Management is willing to carry products upon request and is dedicated to being a part of our community

Breaux Mart bakery did an amazing job on the cake for my husband's birthday party. It was a barbecue theme with checkered red and white and sunflowers. The baker beautifully captured the theme with the cake.

I've been to Balestra's only a couple of times... about two years apart. It's far from my neighborhood. Just like last time, I went there to buy one of their king cakes. The store is clean... the staff is friendly... and they stock some unusual items that make browsing fun. 🤓👍

On vacation we stopped in for some local sausage. Lots of selection, good prices, friendly staff. The meat manager was super welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend and go again!

Very nice grocery store that's been part of the community for decades. Always a pleasure to visit this store. Very happy it's here. Their employees have always been customer friendly and the store is always clean. They have a nice selection of food and other convenient items to choose from and especially the type of food items we love in Plaquemines parish. Thank you Balestra's!

My husband and I went to Balestra's today for the first time. We were very pleased with everything. The store is easy to find. It is very clean. Everyone is very pleasant and helpful. The owner spoke with us for awhile and that meant a great deal to both of us. We will highly recommend this store to all our friends.

A great local business. I only buy fresh meat from here. I can see where it's prepared and I trust it. This is a great place for local items. Their weekly sales are fantastic. People who work here are friendly and always have a happy greeting. The sushi is prepared in store and is always fresh. The hot deli bar has great breakfast and lunch. The pharmacy in store has always been helpful and offers quick service.

Very clean, well organized store. Went in to stock office coffee supply, there was a good variety of Community Coffee (my personal favorite). Choices of non-dairy creamer was limited. The store employees were very friendly and polite!

Love the store and how helpful the staff is overall -but gave it 3 stars because they gave little regard at checkout with mask protection for the customers. I finally found a register where the cashier and bagged were wearing masks - and correctly. But won’t go back for a while. I hope management watches them more closely

I live in Gretna so I forget how much I love this store and don't visit as much as I should. They have an incredible selection, sweet crew, a pharmacy and great prices. I frequented Casey Jones religiously...then Breaux Mart. My heart was broken when they closed. I feel like this is what a grocery store SHOULD be. I will remember to visit more often so I can put my money where it belongs. Edit: reminded myself to go back. And I am m glad I did. Cashiers and baggers were awesome, store was well stocked with a variety of local and non local items. Prices are great.

Have been here several times and have never been disappointed. I don't live nearby but stop by when I am working or visiting the area. Lots of local products and things you won't find in the big box stores. Great selection of meats and bakery items. The store is always clean and fully stocked. Always have plenty of cashiers that are always polite. Wish they had a store like this closer to where I live.

Pricey but they have items a lot of other big grocery stores don't have. People are always nice. Except one time I went couldn't find something and one of the owners was standing around talking to probably a regular customer because he paid no mind to me running around. All in all very nice.

Oh the people who work there are so helpful. I forgot the hot sauce and I was checking out, so the sweet bag man went and got it for me. I love it there. They also make the best hot sausage there.

Balestra's is a local grocery store that provides a nice assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables.The price is a little higher than other stores in the area, but sometimes you get what you pay for.They have fresh made pies like the chocolate creme in the picture that are outstanding! Not too sweet, just right!They were open on Independence Day, so my family and I were able to enjoy some American made burgers on the grill!

The staff is friendly and they have baggers that bag and put your groceries in your cart. I find items here that are not available at Walmart, and I feel more safe parking and shopping here than I do at Walmart. The meat and chicken is a little more expensive than at Walmart, but less expensive than shopping at Rouses.

A nice, friendly, well stocked local grocery store was so nice to find when moving to the area. Sure, some items might be priced higher and they might not carry your specific favorite item, but overall this is a great grocery store for your everyday needs. They carry Boar's Head in the deli, make their own sausage and various meat products and the organic bananas are always perfectly ripe! The cashiers and baggers are on the young side but have always been professional and friendly. I highly recommend spending your hard earned money at this store as opposed to a corporate chain!

Balestra's is a family owned grocery store. Everyone that works there are very friendly and helpful. My mom shopped at Balestra's when I was a little girl and now that I am an adult I do my grocery shopping there as well. Very clean, affordable, friendly place to shop.

If you don't mind the checker walking away after your items are placed on the conveyor belt or once you have moved to another lane having your groceries slammed/shoved to the sacker by cashier, Sarah M, then shopping at this store was an absolutely great exoerience. But if you expect a friendly greeting ...heck just a greeting from the cashier, then I would recommend shopping elsewhere!
