We’ve been coming here for years, & the staff is always so helpful/kind. Love that they carry a variety of different types of diets, including several raw options. We were having so much difficulty finding the frozen raw food our vet recommended, but the staff here was able to specially order it for us.

Well we were looking for more than the normal PetSmart's or Petco's, and we found a jewel. We had just acquired a new puppy, a very well-bred Malinois from breeders in South Carolina and will start using a local trainer who specializes in home protection and family protection. He has recommended a very specialized dog food from a family-owned and operated company called Fromme. This was not an easy dog food to find in Baton Rouge, until we found the Neighborhood Pet Market, off Airline just south of Highland Rd.They had everything, yes even Fromme dog food. It was like a toy store for puppies and dogs.And the owners were there working, very knowledgeable.....no high school kids working there....it was a pleasure seeing real pet people with a well stocked store. Their prices were less than the normal mail order companies, but local.If you want something special in the way of food, harnesses, leashes, toys....Neighborhood is the place to go.Matter of fact, I need another bag of food today.Hope to see you there.

I went here for some medicated shampoo and they had a good selection of different products to choose from.The entire store was well stocked and the staff was very friendly.Easy parking and the store is very accessible, right off of Airline highway.I'll definitely be back and recommend stopping in when you have a need for your fur-baby.

Found the perfect leash for our 6 mo old lab. This leash can be worn as a cross body so you do not have to hold it in your hand. They also have a great selection of Tuffy chew toys.

I have been to the store twice now and they are just so nice. It is refreshing to go into a store and the employees actually care. I am going to start getting everything I need for my dog there.

Only place, I will go to buy my dog food. I specifically only buy the Farmina dog food which you will not find any other pet store in Baton Rouge. I love their quality and ingredients, and they even can ship anything from their website you just have to call them and let them know which recipe you want and they have it sent in for you. Yes I can order Farmina from Farmina ‘s website but whenever they have a deal, I believe it’s by 10 or 12 bags and you get the next one free or it was a gift card I’m not exactly sure I haven’t bought that many yet but it makes it much more worth it to buy it from neighborhood pet market. Not to mention the staff is always so friendly whenever I go. She even helped me carry the huge bag of dog food to my car.

They are very helpful at finding a product for you. Knowledgeable about stock. Willing to carry heavy bags of dog food or reach what you need. Love shopping here. They don't carry any live animals. But have a pretty good variety of supplies for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and some fish food. Even carry frozen raw goats milk for rehabilitation of all animals..and antlers for furry friends to gnaw on. Toys for dogs and cats and treats of all kinds. Friendly neighborhood vibe.

I really like this place. The people who work there are genuinely friendly and helpful. My critters eat 'odd' brands of food, and they always have them. They also have treats and chews and toys. A one-stop-shop that doesn't make you walk for miles to get everything!!

Employees are friendly and very willing to help. We always get into conversations about our or their dogs. There is nothing they don't have. I would much rather buy my pet supplies at a friendly local store as opposed to a national chain. Keep our dollars in the area!

They always have a good selection of healthy, grain free dog food. Most things that I prefer to feed my pups cannot be found anywhere else. They have always tried their best to accommodate and if they don't have it, they will try to find it. I highly recommend for anyone who takes a real interest in their dogs diet and health and wishes to spend locally.

The neighborhood pet market is a nice little animal store to walk into as a family. Items are fairly priced in my opinion and they last as long or longer than really expensive brands I've found online. I highly recommend for people who own dogs, birds, cats, bunnies, etc. Probably not the best place for reptiles but like PetSmart it has some things.

I fell in love with Jefferson Feed Store in New Orleans, and I was thrilled to see that Baton Rouge has a location by a different name. The selection is great, and the prices are beat some of the bigger, online competitors. I'm very happy to support a local business, and they carry my favorite Cannalove brand treats at the best prices!

I would recommend this pet store to anyone. They have good quality pet food and knowledgeable staff. For years I fed my cat the Fancy Feast diet, which I've learned is absolutely awful for them. Upon visiting this store, they recommended "Blue" pet food and after researching it I learned it is great feed for pets. Two thumbs way up.

Pet Market has excellent products and customer assistance. My pet has an chicken intolerance and they have a brand of food you can not find elsewhere that is great for his skin and coat and does not upset his allergies.

I started going here after receiving some sweet coupons. I switched my dog from Wellness fish formula ($$$) to Propac grain-free fish, which has similar ingredients to Wellness and about 30% cheaper. I'll keep going back just for that!
