Didn’t think I would love doing this self guided tour but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s 2 hr ride from New Orleans but it’s a nice relaxing drive. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend checking this place out. They sell so many hot sauces that aren’t carried in Canada and that was the main reason for our visit. The jungle gardens is a gorgeous place to check out as well!

This tour was amazing. It was self guided and loved interacting with the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and engaging. We bought a bunch of things from the gift shop. I do wish you could buy the stuff online also. The restaurant was also amazing the sampler was totally worth it and the egg rolls were to die for. Will definitely come back again.

A great tour and experience and worth the stop and visit. Interesting to see how a staple of American food is made and has progressed over the years.A nicely designed and defined tour, along with museum exhibits, actual process, gift shop, restaurant and a side visit through the island’s jungle garden.A wonderful opportunity.

To start, I am not a fan of spicy food, so I only went here for the experience. The museum at the start of the self guided tour is packed full of information on the history of the family, the product, and the island,There are 9 stops on the tour, and each one gives a good amount of information on what you are going to see.The keg storage room has an incrediblywonderful scent. There's a lot of pepper mash in those oak barrels. The store is filled with just about everything you could want with a Tobasco logo, I found the employees all to friendship and helpful, service with a smile, I didn't partake of the free samples or ice cream, [remember no spice for me) picked up a bunch of factory only available bottles for friends and family and a few momentos of my trip. The restaurant had a very good selection of food for just about anyone, I got the chicken fingers, and they were tasty on their own, but let me tell you they have a rack of bottles on each table so I tried a few, didn't like the mild green sauce, the garlic pepper was darn nice by my favorite was the new product sent and spicy, I liked it so much I went back to the store and bought a few more bottles to take home. The Jungle Gardens were beautiful in their own right, see gators and turtles and lots of beautiful birds, some amazing samples of plants, love the sunken gardens and Buddha along with the pagoda.I had a great time and lived the place and the people

The tour is fairly quick; self guided. They have sauces at the gift shop that you can only purchase there. The grounds are well worth exploring. You can drive the whole thing or get some real hiking if you prefer. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes were out to kill the day we visited. I recommend bug spray.

The Tabasco factory tour was very interesting. It is a self guided tour with 8 stations.I I joyed the bottling portion of the tour the best. The restaurant and gift shop were very nice as well.We were given a senior citizen discount and complimentary coffee after our lunch. Then off to Jungle Gardens which is included in your ticket price. Garden is a drive thru adventure with map to follow and pull overs to exit vehicle, explore and take pictures. Bring bug spray if you plan to get out of vehicle and walk around.Mosquitoes were an issue.

This is such an interesting, important and fun piece of American history and truly unique in the present age. We loved the brief, self-guided tour and saw some truly fun exhibits in the museum. Not to mention all the cool stuff for sale in the gift shop with the iconic logo, of course. The Jungle Gardens were extensive, spectacular and serene and with no rush to get around, just a beautiful, leisurely tour. Lots of photo ops or just sights to take in and marvel at in your own time.

This place is pure magic. The self guided tour is amazing. The food was great, we thought it'd be an expensive sit down place but it's actually a great "cafeteria style" restaurant with a bloody Mary bar!The gardens are remarkable and both times I've gone, I saw the alligator!

Tabasco, a globally recognized name synonymous with fiery flavor, transcends its role as a mere condiment by offering enthusiasts an immersive experience.Beyond being a kitchen staple, Tabasco invites curious minds to embark on a factory tour, unveiling the intricate process behind crafting this iconic hot sauce.Delving deeper into the brand's legacy, visitors can explore the expansive Jungle Garden – a sprawling one hundred and seventy-acre botanical haven and bird sanctuary. Here, the journey becomes more than a culinary adventure; it transforms into a sensory exploration of nature and craftsmanship, weaving together the spicy tale of Tabasco's origins and the lush beauty of its surroundings.

Great experience for Tabasco fans. Staff was very friendly and always willing to help.Make sure you leave enough time to hit the gift shop (closes at 4pm) to load up on unique items and sauces.Highly recommend stop if you are in Southern Louisiana/Lafayette area.If you have time, also get the jungle gardens pass located at the facility. This is the "old" property and homestead of the McIlhenny's.

We enjoyed our visit, it was nice to see where our favorite hot sauces are made and bottled. It was a Sunday so the production line wasn't running. The tour numbers on the virtual tour did not match the numbers on site. The store has a tasting section where you can taste about a dozen different flavors of Tabasco. Plenty of souvenirs are available, as well as Tabasco in a variety of sizes and flavors

The Tabasco factory is located on the historic Avery Island with beautiful grounds and a chance to see alligators. It was nice visiting the Tabasco museum and learning the history of the infamous hot sauce. The general store has a sample area where you can taste all or some of the 10 different Tabasco varieties. One of those must do destinations in New Iberia Louisiana

Was down in Louisiana for a few days and did the Avery Island Tabasco Tour as well as the Jungle Gardens tour. As a fan of Tabasco, it was nice to get a history lesson as well as see where it’s made. It’s a self guided tour, about an hour. They have a cool restaurant there as well as a gift shop with great merch. Come stop by and check it out next time you’re in Southern LA.

What a great history lesson. Plenty of parking. Tickets are a bit pricey. The restaurant closes early, so we didn't visit. The self guided tour was pleasant and offered many visual resources. The Jungle self driving tour was very relaxing and offered many nature picture opportunities.

We was waiting for this visit for 5 years.Experience was super interesting.Definitively the garden is a must see, just wow. Factory tour is well made.My only downside is the restaurants all meal we buy for the familly of 4 was correct but god the price is crazy. 110 for familly of 4 and close 60 for the visit is too high.

We totally enjoyed our tour of the factory and the jungle Gardens. We had no idea of the rich history and success of the family owned business. The tour was very well done and visitor friendly. We loved it.

If you have any interest in Tabasco sauce and history, this is worth taking a couple hours out to immerse yourself in the history of the Island and Sauce. After taking the walking tour, stop by the store for samples of many different sauces and flavored ice cream. Buy some merch if you like but then hit up the restaurant right next to the store for a good foodie experience.

The Tabasco factory has stepped up its tour game! They have made “stops” that start next to the store, and let you experience going see things such as an example greenhouse where experimental peppers may be grown, where the mash is stirred with the vinegar, the old salt mine that used to be on the island, and much more. Plus, if you pay for this, you also get admission to Jungle Gardens. The store is the only place where you can buy the pepper mash proper as well!
