Poor parrots look sickly & scared & the chinchilla looked so sad. I don't recommend buying pets from pet stores bc there are so many pets that need to be rescued & adopted. Also, they do not fool with the animals, so they are scared & skiddish & it's hard to train them. The pets store industry is cruel. How they obtain,keep, & Get RID OF, these precious animals are horrid..& I'm not talking about the employees you see in store, I'm referring to the industry itself.Other than that, the prices of some of the food, treats, & other supplies are usually overpriced. Sometimes, they will have deals you can catch though.

I came here because we were killing time until we had to go to a party. The kids loved the small animals but we eventually made our ways to the adoptable animals. I found Jessica (who I renamed Jessie) in the cats area and my girlfriend bought her for me for a christmas present. The manager was SUPER helpful and the adoption process was easy. I didn't get my rabies tag for her but they are mailing it to me back to Texas. They were great people and my cat lives a life of luxury now. Thanks so much!

I was looking for a groomer since I was new to the area. I have a Mini Schnauzer. A lot of good reviews for this store. I was very pleased with them. His beard was knotted up really bad so it was time for a shave. Theresa was really good. She seemed to really care about everyone’s babies. Definitely going to keep using them.

My dog didn't recive the haircut i requested. One of the employees there gave my dog a treat while waiting. My dog has been sick since we left the groomers there. Stay away if you love your pet.

Please do not take your pet at this place for grooming. They are very and I do mean very selective on how they want to work. I tried to get my mother's dog for grooming and she had a few areas of matting I because she is a maltepoo. It's hard to grooming here in Alexandria and when you can find some one, they are booked months in advance. I won't be shopping there ever again.and they didn't want to do it. I can't find other grooming

i came here to adopt a cat. i was looking for one for so long and all other pet stores were so all over the place. this was the quickest and easiest adoption ever and the workers were very nice and helpful. i love my new kitty and couldn’t ask for an easier and quicker experience!!!

The store and the employees are great the person in the grooming area that works where you clip nails and things needs not to work for this company very rude and selects what dog she chooses she wants to mess with not everybody's in equal customer it's up to her whether your dog gets treated or not I witnessed an owner of a Prestige Pharmacy here in Alexandria Louisiana bring her dog in and they refused her had they known who she was they probably would not have I had my own personal experience with my Pomeranian said she would not clip his nails because he didn't have his rabies tag on and mine is a seizure service dog the girl need not mess with animals in general I will not be returning to this location until she is gone and neither will some of these lucrative people in the area in which they are situated

First time getting my yorkie haircut at petsmart. We were excited, he needed a cut bad and our lady that he goes to has been having health issues so we decided to let petsmart do it . The lady lied and said his hair was matted and his hair was NEVER matted , she also didn’t give him a teddy bear cut , she cut all of his hair off because she simply didn’t want to brush it . Never again taking my pet there .

This company will abuse the little animals and throw them away like they are nothing, if you want a pet from here check their dumpsters first. These people that work here don’t even know anything about Animals unless they’re told! Also if you go inside there is most likely days of feces in every tank/cage.

I called today and told them I couldn’t hook up my new fish tank. The ten gallon bubble tank and they told me to bring it in. The man didn’t know what to do but he didn’t let me leave without it working!! Got home and it is working wonderful! Thank you sir!!

Unlike other PetSmart locations I have been to, the staff here have always been attentive and never make me feel like I'm inconveniencing them by asking for help. Friendly service and quick to assist. The crew here has certainly earned a loyal customer.

They may have alot of items u need, (not in size n maybe not in stock) or a sales (floor) person available to help u..if u need it, and to my surprise not the friendliest place to go,and i found it ridiculous at how expensive a sqeak toy, clothes, and treats r, so I think I will go back to ordering from Chewy...its cheaper, and sooo much more items in stock and thier customer service is amazing!!

Took my schnoodle to get groomed. His fur grows really thick and curly. They lied and said his fur was too matted and they wouldn't cut it. I cut his hair myself afterwards and there wasn't a single mat in his fur (just like I kept telling them.) They were just too lazy to do their job.

Could use some work on the fish department and upgrade husbandry on pets (specifically reptile enclosures , seriously please work on this and your care info) but otherwise fantastic! Love the prices & product selections. Very clean and organized. Friendly , light atmosphere.

**UPDATE**I HAVE CHANGED THE 5 STAR RATING TO A 1 STAR WOULDN'T GET ANY IF IT WOULD LET ME!!I have had a few problems with the way the employees handle customer service over the years and I really don't go in here much anymore. Well today I went to get a few fish and I needed a couple of algae eaters. I told the boy what I needed and he proceeded to get them. He was the worst person I have ever seen mess with fish in the aquariums. He said he only had one algae eater and started flipping and pushing things around in the aquarium with his net in an aggressive uncaring way. I saw a second one and showed it to him. He was so rough with the fish and decorations in the aquarium that he actually killed the second one and just threw him back in the tank. He didn't care if he hurt any of the other fish while he was catching what people need. I could really tell he's ONLY there for a paycheck and had no interest in the job he was doing, I watched him for a few more minutes while he cleaned the tanks and it was very obvious. I probably won't be back 😕

All of their hermit crabs were dead. My kids and I went to the Alexandria store to purchase hermit crabs. The staff was VERY HELPFUL. But as the clerk was at the tank, every hermit crab he checked was dead. Approximately all 12 of them.

They suck. I went in to purchase a thunder shirt for my dog 🐕, got to the register and began the check out process the price range up $5.00 more then it was on the peg hook. Also the spray was $5.00 more then price on the shelf. I told the girl that the price was wrong and I was told it must have been put in the wrong place. I said I will not pay that much for the product, she just took the bag out my cart and threw it on the floor. I went and took a photo of the price on the peg hook and went back up front and was told the price is the price. Go shop elsewhere. Spend your money were you are appreciated.
