I had such a great experience. They even helped me out to my car. Madison was so very helpful and I didn’t catch the other persons name. Tall dark sweet man. I got the cutest leopard gecko! 10/10 recommend going to petco!

I went to Petco for the first time with my new shiba puppy. All the employees were so kind and were really helpful! The day I came in, the nice dog trainer helped me by giving a few tips for how to help my puppy out since he still gets a little scared in public. He was super great and invited me to sign him up for puppy classes! Also, the nice lady at the register was so nice and loved my puppy, and encouraged me to have him socialize with puppies too! I just got stationed here in Louisiana after coming from overseas, so I don't know many people in the area. But the kindness they all showed me was so amazing, I'm totally coming to this store again <3

It was difficult for me to leave all those sick and near dead fish. I asked an employee if they could give a discount on the sick or injured fish and was informed Petco company policy would not allow it. The company would prefer to lose money from fish dying , than lower prices on sick fish. Sad.

The tank conditions here are horrible. Most tanks had at least 5 dead fish in them, if not more. The fish that were alive looked like they didn’t have much life left in them. Got three Cory catfish from here and none of them were in good condition when we left the store and they all ended up dying before even making it a day in my tank. Really sad. Hope y’all can get some better care for these fish.

Great store lots of verities of animals fish, mice, birds, ferrets, and lizards they offer almost anything you would like or need for your pets they also do grooming and training for your dogs.

Clean , welcoming environment, beautiful selection of fresh/saltwater fish , reptiles , arachnids (GREEN BOTTLE BLUES! Iykyk) , birds, etc.I wish the section for small pets (ex: rat/mouse, rabbit) was bigger. Not too many options but what works for ferrets & large birds will mostly work for rats/rabbits.Looked at dog beds and while they had very nice options , the prices deterred me. Found an xl bed of the same quality at WM for 1/3 the price. Associates were friendly as always.They also regularly have fundraisers waiting outside but learning to say no thanks and keep walking is something I'm still working on unfortunately.Overall , I will continue to shop here and have no major complaints on the store as a whole.

I had the worst experience in the Alexandria store I booked an appointment for Saturday at noon upon arrival the groomer Adrian told me I had to wait until Sunday to have my dog groomed although it had been 28 hours since he had his rabies shot updated on Friday once I spoke to a manager Katie she told me to return as the policy is indeed 24 hours(1day) Upon returning I witnessed the groomer Adrian angrily and aggressively refuse to service my animal. I do not know him personally and have never had any dealings with this particular Petco so I was confused by the aggression. The manager Katie came out to personally apologize and informed me the groomer said my shihtzu was aggressive. Not true as he refused service before interacting with my dog and he himself stated he refused due to the vaccination being given 24 hours beforehand. Even then when he approached petted and had me remove my animal from the carrier so he can further interact he never nipped at him only clung to me. (Adrian only remarked he was aggressive after the manager was involved.) Katie asked me to return so I did Then after I came back and Katie the manager interacted with my dog he was nervous but never bit at her even licked her. I truly believe my dog felt how nervous I was because after witnessing Adrian become irate I then began to feel nervous and uneasy about leaving my animal with them. But he desperately needed grooming so against better judgment I did. The lady that checked us in informed me they were packed and it may be hours before they are able to get to him but I had no problem with waiting. I with great guilt left him there nervous and went across the street to waste time in Kroger but I honestly never made it inside (10 mins I sat in the car debating returning to cancel groom) before they called and said they attempted to groom him but he became aggressive and bit at them( dog is 4 years old has been groomed numerous times by different groomers as we are a military family and has NEVER bit anyone)….I did not argue I felt something was off so I rushed over to get him because at that point all things rushed through my head like were they purposefully aggressive with him because I pushed the issue? The guy was so angry before I left and they went from hours until they could groom him to grooming him as soon as I left ? This was just too much to ever trust them again. If you are an animal owner/lover than you know our pets are family. This whole experience was unacceptable.

I love this place because it had everything I need and if it wasn’t available, shipping was pretty quick. They even price match with online sales. Great place to shop for your pet.

We bought a parakeet from here. The store is very clean and the employees are very helpful. There were a lot of colors to choose from with the parakeets. Also, I'm getting into fish and I have no clue what I'm doing - but they do! So helpful!!

The place was an absolute mess. It looked like a tornado went through it! You couldn’t get down some of the aisles because of all the boxes, bags etc. which would make the place an absolute fire hazard. I’ve never seen it this bad. Clearly they are short staffed so somebody please send them help!

Prices are high and some items are never in stock. The ferrets make it worth shopping here lol.EditPrices getting better and the staff are amazing. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. They helped me get everything I needed and at a great price.

I have been very disappointed in the Alexandria, Louisiana store for a while now. Their saltwater fish are put in tanks and left to die. Tanks are disgusting, water flow is almost non existent, and the prices are obscene. I went in to get a heater for my saltwater tank and noticed a juvenile Fox-face (which no one knows what I’m talking about at the store) was starving to the point of seeing it’s bones, fins were damaged, tank was filthy. On top of the health of this fish he was priced at $129.99 😳 that is insanity. A healthy foxface of any size at very reputable fish store max out at $65-$75. Petco is trying to rob the day to day customers that do not know better. This is just a few of the despicable things I saw as a very experienced fish owner with both saltwater and freshwater. PETCO NEEDS TO SHUT THE TANKS DOWN OR BE FINNED FOR ANIMAL ABUSE!

My dog has been groomed here for a year. Today I was refused service because my dog has seizures. She is on medication for them and they are controlled. They have groomed her several times before knowing she has seizures. I tell them and mark it on the paperwork. Wasted time driving 30 minutes to get refused service.

It was easy to find someone to help me. She gave great advice and helped me select a product and a bowl for it. The checkout man noticed the food was 50% off. Both were helpful, friendly, kind and caring.

I go there for the freshwater fish, which they always have new and exciting fish to add to my tank. It usually takes a few minutes for someone to acknowledge me then help me to get a fish. Which is OK if they are busy. They do get a little invasive with their line of questioning when I am buying a fish. It's an 8 dollar fish not a neglected child at an orphanage. Best case scenario for you is that my tank is not established then the fish dies and I have to come buy another one. You sell two fish. Again, these are fish not children.

Service was okay, it was a Saturday morning, there were 4 employees, but one willing to show the location of the item I was looking for. The cashier just pointed, once I found it and turned to pay and three staff members ignored me. After a few moments the cashier (the same one that pointed me in direction of the item) walks out of the office and finished my transaction. If the other staff members were working on other projects I understand, but they should have at least acknowledged me.
