We had an overall good stay at Acorn Ridge. Of course a 3 star review will have your positives and negatives, so let’s get into it.Positives: Very nice, new build! The cabin itself is pretty stunning. The deck is beautiful and easily fits 4 people. Loved the hot tub and view that comes with it! Anything you’d want to do around the gorge is within a 15-20 minute drive, so it’s very convenient too. Check in/out is a breeze.Negatives: The whole area around the cabin is extremely under construction (as of Sept 2023). Roads are all gravel, which is fine, but there were some parts that weren’t all that well marked and were steep! Take a truck or SUV if possible (my little sedan struggled but it still worked). There was also a TON of noise from the construction during our stay. And we only stayed over the weekend, meaning Saturday and Sunday afternoon they were out working hard and loud with machinery. The AC unit that’s attached to the ceiling also started leaking a large puddle while we were gone, apparently due to condensation. Fortunately didn’t get our belongings wet, but easily could’ve. I had the thermostat set at 70 degrees for a while and when I called and said the unit was leaking, they said having it set that low for a while was the issue (really? 70 degrees?) so at their request I changed it to 74 and the leaking eventually stopped. The lady that answered my call said that had been an issue before, so I’m shocked they aren’t alerting people about it nor fixing it.Again, we did overall enjoy our stay and really liked the place, but they’ve got some things to either fix or be more up front about.

We stayed at Acorn Ridge and the place was covered in dog hair! AVOID unless you're comfortable relaxing and being covered in dog hair. Called customer service and they offered no help or solution. We will not be returning to this cabin or staying at 5 Star Cabin Rentals in the future. It's unfortunate because the cabin itself is nice and we paid a premium to vacation there. This particular area is still being developed, so beware of construction noise ruining the peace.

Hide away on the lake is a perfect cabin for you and your significant other or for going with another couple. 2 bed 2 bath. Secluded but still good view of the lake from the deck. Great place to start the day with coffee. Jacuzzi or swim in the lake. Centrally located by the gorges main attractions. Must try redpoint BBQ. Great service and laid back rules. Will definitely book this place again.

This place was very nice and clean. The only stipulation was the hill to get here. I have a suv that is front-wheel drive and I was fine. I would not recommend a car, it is rocky.Nearby activities: We were so close to hiking or checking out the sitesFood & drinks: The local Mexican restaurant is delicious 😋 La Cabaña is the place to go!!!

Very friendly ladies working the desk. Gave clear directions to our cabin.Stayed in Cabana Nights container house for 3 nights. Beautifully decorated, very clean, well stocked kitchen, beautiful views even after the trees lost their leaves.If you can't handle winding roads this property isn't for you. Water pressure wasn't great but it was doable. Really enjoyed our stay.

If there is any issue with your cabin you need to ASK for a different cabin immediately or leave immediately.I have used them several times but will no longer. On my last trip June 2023 the cabin heat was not working and there was a cold snap, especially in the shade down in the holler.We didn't leave early because we were told the HVAC guy was coming, but he did not come that day and the office was closed that evening when we returned to the cabin.They offered no discount and provided no solutions other than "we should have requested extra blankets, and we can't guarantee heat to work when it's the spring". They blamed me for expecting the heat to work in the summer (the cabin was 61), and that I should have left the cabin (but the office was closed and no one answered).

Mountain Rose Cabin, Red River Gorge. My wife and I just spent two nights here. We have rented many cabins in the area over the course of many years. This was the most uncomfortable, ill-furnished, ill-supplied and obsolete cabin we have ever stayed in. The beds we horrible. The two chairs in the family room were worse. The kitchen supplies were pitiful- 1 pan, 2 pots, 4 forks, salt and pepper shakers- that's about it. I'm 64. The tiny oven/stove in there was older. Even though it's located in the middle of a thickly forested area, the noise from the nearby Mountain Parkway was LOUD. Other than a few dust bunnies, the place was pretty clean. Except for all the dark mold on what was left of the white caulk where the shower wall met the bathtub. Disgusting. Giving it 2 stars only because the incredibly steep driveway was in great shape.

My wife and I stayed there for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The view was great and it was an easy check and out process. However, you can tell that they don't really clean between stays. There was hair all in the shower. I had to move the furniture around to find the remote to the TV. They have instructions for the hot tub post in multiple areas that tell you to test the water before going in but yo don't have the equipment to test it. Also it did snow while we were there and it was gorgeous but there was no shovel or salt proved to clear the deck to be able to enjoy it. Overall I don't think I would use them. We have stayed with other companies in the past that have much better services.

Stayed in the Candle Light Cabin. It’s nothing fancy, cabins in this area are all owned by various companies and most of them are kind of grimy. This one was exceptional in the amount of rats you could hear in the walls once the lights went out. Pretty sure they were actually in the living space too. Internet is pretty terrible, the toilet in the downstairs bathroom is wobbly and the beds are uncomfortable. Not a stellar experience, but like I said, pretty much par for the course for cabins in this area. They all need to step up their quality and cleanliness game.

The staff were all fabulous and very responsive and helpful for any issues. We did have a couple maintenance needs, both stoppers for bathtubs not working, furnace couldn't keep up with a cold overnight overnight the temperature dropped below 50 degrees. Cleanliness I would only give 3 stars, dusty blinds, nasty floor cracks etc. the staff was so great and it's dog and kid friendly

We stayed at the romance on the rocks cabin. It was beautiful clean, well stocked fair price. Short notice, be down there to pick up your key by 630pm and have it back by 11am when you are ready to check out. Great experience will be back for sure! UPDATE 6-29-21 STAYED AT SOUTHERN BELLETHIS WAS OUR SECOND CABIN EXPERIENCESouthern belle recommends 4 wheel drive my 2017 Honda had no problem getting up and down the hill. You may get a little scrapping on the undercarriage of your car but if you know how to drive you'll be fine. Low gear little speed automatic traction control helps which is standard in most newer cars. Now for the cabin. It was very secluded last house on the left type stuff. Hot tub great. Fire pit nice only complaint is there is not alot of grassy or flat area for the dog to do his business. But he got use to it. Overall another great experience!

This place was an experience.Stay at your own risk.First, lets talk about the cleanliness. We were told that we would be charged if we didn't clean the dishware before we left. However, they did not say that we would arrive with dirty dishware in the cabinets. I am not talking about some dust on the top of dishes from lack of use, I am talking full brown gunky sticky stuff that is caked on the side of glasses and bowls. We had to scrub our dishes down before we could even use them.The driveway was advertised as being quite steep. This was true, however, it was also advertised as having "flat gravel." That was not true. We have an all wheel drive Subaru which bottomed out several times and was left on 3 wheels on many occasions due to the washouts in the gravel on the way down the driveway to the cabin. When we told management, all they said was that it was caused by rain and offered no remorse or solution to the problem. I didn't know I needed a monster truck to access my cabin.The pool table was mentioned and advertised as a full pool table. It was not. It was a MINIATURE pool table with 2 balls missing, one of which had been replaced by a ping pong ball... there is no ping pong table. When we also told management about this, they offered to replace the two missing balls with full sized pool balls. Like that is any help?There was little water pressure in any sinks in the bathrooms, one bed tried to throw the user off throughout the night since it lost its strength, and there was no dresser or closet in one of the bedrooms.Long story short, we were offered no sort of compensation for these problems, no remorse, and no solution. This is an awful mangement company that is stealing peoples money.They have such nice properties and have the opportunity to be great, but yet they skimp on any sort of customer care.Stay at your own risk.

Update: there was a dead mouse in the trap the morning of our departure. Will not stay again.This was worth 2-3 stars tops. We booked a 2 night getaway and that was really enough for this cabin. The cabin was incredibly small (could almost touch your head on the loft ceiling above the bed-there was literally bubble wrap on the ceiling), and the bed was on a box spring directly on the floor and was not comfortable at all.Overall though the amenities were not too bad, and are not the problem. The 2 star rating mostly coming from the cleanliness of the cabin. The minimal cleaning fee really means minimal cleaning. There were decent sized dust bunnies in visibly seen places throughout the cabin (including on the wall by the bed). There were also Bobby pins from a prior guest in the couch cup holder and swimming trunks laying on the washing machine. It is also unnerving to have 3 mousetraps set up in a cabin upon checkin. Luckily we did not see a mouse or have a trap set off. Additionally, having guests “start” the linens is okay and all but I also question how well these items are cleaned between uses of the cabin.Not sure if we just got a bum cabin or if all their properties have similar issues. Overall the cabin was okay, but just definitely not worth the $170/night we were charged. We will be looking elsewhere for our next trip.

The Cabin we stayed in was perfect! Exactly what we were looking for in a nice romantic vacation. The views, hot tub, amenities in the cabin were all extraordinary. I would 100% stay again and definitely plan on it! The staff was very helpful and welcoming. I will say this, we stayed at one of the Cabins that was pretty high up there and was a little sketched out getting up there, so if your not familiar with the area, try to check in before dark! Couldn't have asked for a better stay. :-)

My husband and I stayed at A Wild Turkey Roost this past weekend. The cabin seemed nice enough, with great amenities, but it very obviously has a huge problem with mice. We found small piles a mouse feces behind all kitchen counter appliances and droppings across the counter edges and in some of the cabinets. Very disappointed in the price of this rental and the lack of cleanliness. The cleaning staff must not be cleaning well if there are feces on the kitchen counter. The gorge is a beautiful place and I will be back, but not with this company.

My wife went ahead and rented a cabin for three nights. She was only there for a few hours when she took severely I’ll. I had to rush to her I got there about midnight. After taking my wife to the hospital she spent several days in the hospital. We notified the cabin rental office and asked if we could get an cost adjustment or maybe a stay at a later date. Their answer was a flat sorry nothing can be done for you. Not to mention the maintenance crew worked on the kitchen water there was none. And told my wife she must move to another cabin the next morning. Be very cautious of this rental

Our experience would have been subpar but acceptable if the skylight in our cabin had not leaked a puddle so big into the loft that it leaked through to the first floor while we slept. For that we asked for a refund for the next night because we did not want to sleep in a leaking cabin. The manager was in church when we went to turn our keys in and request the refund, and no one else is able to make the decision in his absence. With the number of checkouts on Sunday and check out time being during church hours, this seems like a bad business decision to have no one else with this authority. At this point, we have gotten about 60% of the money we spent on nightly rental and fees refunded and are struggling to get a response on the rest of the refund.Other issues with the cabin:-the company nickel and dimes you on everything they expect you to do when you leave. Don’t do your own dishes? $20 charge, similar for not putting dirty towels in the tub. That seems steep for a company that charged you $60+ in cleaning and maintenance fees. Extra charge if you use more than one roll of toilet paper!!!- bare minimum accommodations. We got one towel each for a multiple night stay, even though our cabin has a hot tub. So we were expected to use the same towel to bathe and hot tub. Similar issues with the items provided in the kitchen and even furniture.-obvious maintenance neglect. First on the hot tub (the jets did not turn on and the cover did not latch) and the skylight (since it was filthy dirty and leaked). Multiple lights would not turn on because bulbs were burned out.For $260 a night with fees, we could have stayed in a boutique hotel in the city. The offering for this price range was subpar at best. I only gave it two stars because it was clean as far as we could tell and we did enjoy the setting and layout of the cabin.

We absolutely love the Gorge and often try to visit twice a year. We've stayed with Five Star Cabin Rentals for many years and service has always been excellent. If we have ever encountered a problem, it's dealt with accordingly and swiftly. Great atmosphere and great folks running the show! Planning on going next week for another stay, can't wait!!

The Mountain Rose cabin was beautiful! Very clean and nice cabin. The deck was great—lots of seating and a good view, though a little tree-obstructed. There was some road noise during the day but nothing you could hear inside. Natural Bridge trails are only about 2 miles away. The hot tub was great. Just wish there was a DVD player in the cabin :) Overall we loved every moment of our stay!

Beautiful view from our cabin. We stayed at Sunset Cabin. If you have difficulty with stairs this may not be your best option. Water has a distinct sulfur taste, but they mention the possibility on the website. Our sink had a missing stopper which made it difficult to wash dishes, but service personnel was quick and courteous to fix the issue. Will definitely rent from this group again. Thanks for a great time.

We stayed at Carries Cottage. It was beautiful, serene, peaceful and a lovely home. Plenty of room, we’ll furnished and beds are very comfortable. There was so much nearby things to do, yet we were very secluded. We did lots of hiking, swimming and walking trails. The staff at 5 Star Cabin Rental office were the nicest and sweetest people I have ever met. It was a pleasure to talk with them. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking our own meals and grilling at the house, even tho we enjoyed some of the restaurants and cafes. Everything was so beautiful for miles and miles at this location. We felt so at home and it was hard to leave. We actually booked 2 extra nights after the first nights stay there. We will definitely stay there again.... no doubt! Thank you.

Upon arrival I had to sweep the floors. Had a weird harsh smell that soon learned was a dead mouse in a trap under the kitchen sink that had been there for a couple days. Had a trap sitting on kitchen counter for mice, which ended up with a mouse in it later. Floor has dead roaches and other bugs. If traps are put in they should be checked by them before people check in. The cabin needed cleaned and dusted badly. Mattress sat on the floor. Very uncomfortable.They say wifi and cable available and works depending on weather. We had perfect weather and still no cable or wifi for the 4 night/days we were there. Should take that off the list.No outside seats available that wasn’t broken and couldn’t be used. Fire pit is on a hillside with no easy access to use it.Would not stay in this cabin again.

The cabin was wonderful, plenty of room for the whole family. Kitchen very well stocked and a bathroom on each level (3) made it ideal for our group of parent and 3 adult children. I only gave it a 4 star because the road condition leading to the cabin was in pretty bad shape and the turn around to in the driveway was not graveled nor aligned properly, making it very hard to exit or to have more then 1-2 cars in the driveway and because the hot tub didn't get warm enough. The staff were wonderful and helpful as always.

The fridge wasn’t working when we arrived. They worked to get a new one. Unfortunately we had to get ice and live out of a cooler for a few days. They offered us a new cabin to love into after we had been there 3 days. We chose not to because of the hassle. They did try to make it right. The company did a good job but the homeowner of hideaway on the lake left a lot to be desired—not even a full set of cutlery for our family of 3, only one bowl available for cereal in the morning.

I have stayed in RRG many time and never have I stayed in a cabin like this. We stayed in Mountain Rose for a quiet weekend getaway. It was anything but quiet. The road noise from the parkway is horrible, and the neighboring cabin is very close and the people staying there were super loud. The cabin lacked cleanliness, the kitchen table abd chairs had food on the, dust bunnies everywhere, cob webs all over both inside and outside. Let not forget to mention the dead cockroach in the doorway of the 1st floor bathroom(see picture). The beds were ok not great, tge couch you sunk in and had a hard time getting out of. As for the view there isnt one all you see is trees and when on the upper balcony the mountain is maybe 3 to 4 feet away from the deck making it feel really closed in. Also, this is not a single cabin the doors are marked with the letter A and if you walk around to the other side there is another door marked with B. Overall i would give them 0 stars but it made me give them at least 1. Not happy with this cabin rental

Stayed at their Mountain Sunrise Cabin over Memorial day long weekend with a group of 6. We had an amazing time at the cabin.Location: Right of the highway and very close to the state park. Easy access to the walking trails and local attractions. There is a Kroger and Pharmacy close by as well. There is not lot restaurants to choose from but there are a couple where we had a decent experience.Space: There was enough space inside and outside the cabin for all of us and a little one to run around. The master bedroom on the first floor came with a jet tub and enough storage space for the luggage.Utensils: The kitchen was equipped with basic equipment and utensils which was enough to cook daily meals if you are planning to.Maintenance: Cabin was very clean on and very well maintained. The Jacuzzi was ready by the time of our arrival.Service: The cabin booking process was very simple and hassle-less. On arrival, the check-in took like 5 mins and the people were very responsive when we called them other complaints.Overall had a great experience and don't mind giving 5 Stars. I would definitely use 5 Star Cabin LLC again in future! Thank you for your great service.

On the surface, our cabin (Above it All) is perfect. However, while staying there, we found it to be lacking. The beds were so high we had to take a flying leap to get in. The lamps in the upstairs bedrooms didn't work. The tall windows in the great room were dirty. There is some sort of bug on the deck that eats the wood and drops shavings all over the chairs. We had to clean the washer before we could use it. The kitchen is not very well equipped -- it needs hot pads, a pitcher (there was a lid but no pitcher to go with it), a large mixing bowl, large spoons to use for mixing or serving, tongs, and a whisk. The exit from the driveway is difficult and dangerous. The gutters need cleaned because they overflowed when it rained.
