Got a kitten from this shelter a week ago. She died today. Got her into the vet 2 days after I got her (they were super busy), and she had fleas (expected) round worms, and hook worms. She seemed to also be fighting some sort of intestinal virus where she was not only incontinent, but her feces just poured out of that skin and bones 8 week old body.I will miss her terribly.

I’ve now been working at LCAS for 2 years, our adoption rates from the community are very low but we are so thankful for all of our rescues for the past 2 years are rate for dogs getting out of the shelter have been 95%, which is amazing! We definitely need more help from our community, but until then We are forever thankful for those people who have donated over the years to get us to where we are now ❤️

Euthanized a very pregnant dog after only a few days!?! I am asking that Judge Executive Adams reconsider his policies concerning the humane society and the rescue of animals. Scores of highly adoptable dogs have been killed since this policy change. PLEASE CHANGE IT and LINCOLN CO. folks please take responsibility for your pets and don't dump them at a Kill shelter!

Miscommunication between Facebook messenger to the physical address...the kitten I went to adopt was in a foster home, so she needed to be brought in but the memo wasn't given to the foster and physical address. Came from three counties over, so it was not viable for me to leave w/o adopting. Process was easy, visit the pet, sign one document, give fee, then take pet home.

I called because as driving my work truck my Co worker and I spotted a kitten....As we approached we saw two small deceased kittens and one live one.....we then called the Lincoln County Humane Society and they informed me there wasn't anything they could do and that if I couldn't take it with me to leave it. I then called the judge executive and he was out , but his secretary gave me the same answer. I just can't believe no one couldcome and do their job and save this poor kitten. I finally put it in the truck with us and we found it a home ourselves. I am very disappointed and disgusted at the zero concern and help they were!

What kind of sociopathic sick freaks run this place? Did you seriously "euthanize" several dogs that had already been designated as going to a rescue organization? That's not euthanasia, that's murder!! There are plenty of normal people with real emotions (you might have to look up that term "emotion") that would have loved those dogs! This place sounds like it's just a cover where the people get to use animals for their killing pleasure. PLEASE drive to a different county to drop off animals at a shelter that actually WANTS to help and isn't in the business of killing for kicks and giggles!!

"Another dark day in Lincoln County. As many of you know, we go to the Lincoln County Shelter every Tuesday to photograph and pull/tag dogs for adoption, foster and other rescues. These gorgeous dogs were already spoken for, a couple of them already had fosters and the others were going to be pulled for transport, but the folks at the shelter decided to kill them all before we got there on Tuesday. They have our phone number. They know what we do, but they simply don't regard animals as important and would sometimes rather kill them then let them go to good homes. This is the kind of attitude we have to fight everyday. Something needs to be changed in Lincoln County, and it should start with a new judge executive - the person directly responsible for overseeing the shelter and the poor attitudes that prevail. RIP little buddies. We always try our best." - paws 4 the cause -IF THIS IS TRUE THE LINCOLN COUNTY SHELTER SHUT BE SHUT DOWN INDEFINITELY!!! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE TO HELP THESE ANIMALS NOT MURDER THEM !!! You should be SHUT DOWN !!!!!!!!!!!

This shelter has come a long way with new employees and the way the animals are taken care of it’s definitely ten times better then say three or four years ago. Definitely visit.

Would give a zero star if I could. The people at this shelter are nothing but murderers. Honestly says a lot about Lincoln County if you ask me. This kind of stuff happens way too often around here, it's a shame. Those poor babies. :(

I just want to say that I read all the reviews on here so I went to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter and those animals there were all well fed and clean the whole shelter was clean and being cleaned while I was there and the people were nice and helpful and very gentle with these animals and I adopted a beagle mix most lovable sweet dog so I want to thank everyone that works at the Lincoln County animal shelter for the great work they're doing and for those that gave the bad review you need to go back to the shelter cuz maybe when you was there there was different people I don't know but all I know is I am very pleased with the shelter me being a huge animal lover again thanks all the employees that are taking care of these animals the best that they can

Website and sign out front state they are open 10 am to 2 pm mon-fri. 10-12 on sat. Arrived at 10:05 on a Friday, there was nobody there. How can you care for the animals in your care if you don’t even show up on time to feed and water them.

This place is disgusting. They will kill any animal they can, almost as if they enjoy it. I am not sure why you would choose to work with animals if you hate them, but every single staff member here could not possibly care less about the welfare of the animals IN THEIR CARE. This place should be shut down.
