Stopped by the lake since I haven't been here in a few years. It's still just as beautiful as the last time I seen it. My husband and I were married here on July 3rd 2008 and we used to bring our kids here to play and swim daily as we lived just up the road. Today it was flooded as it had rained the past few days but I really enjoyed the scenery and ducks.

My kids hometown park! A place we’ve been many times and have tons of memories being here! A place dear to my heart that I love! Enjoy it and is very much for everyone and every family to enjoy and create memories of your own. My last trip was to fish so that’s what pictures I’ll post but we also fished at the spillway and you can call 297-4111 to see what days they release the trout. You can also eat at the lake diner or bring your own food and just eat at the picnic table area. Let your kids play at the playground or the whole family can swim! Get out on the water 💦 if you want and you can bring your camper and go camping. Paintsville lake state park is a great place for all your outdoor activities.

One of the nicest state park campgrounds I've ever seen! Sites are level and have large chipped sites. Bath house is clean and well maintained. Nice playground for the kidos, and what seems to be a favorite swimming cove just at the bottom of the hill. Paintsville Lake is also very picturesque. This is what all our state park campgrounds should look like!

I love coming here. This lake is clean and beautiful. There are also other beautiful streams that connect to the lake that have amazing waterfalls.

Beautiful. Not really much else I can say except beautiful. There is a campground and a place to park houseboats and get tackle. There is a boat ramp for easy access to put your boat into the water. There is a small playground and shelters for family events. There are grills stationed around the park for cookouts. Beautiful place.

The lake has a fantastic view and provides a variety of outdoor activities for everyone. I personally enjoy visiting the lake to clear my mind. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Lovely place, sweet staff. Showers are kinda funky though, you're either getting scalding hit water or you're taking an ice shower. Especially if anyone else is showering or flushes the toilet. Other then that live the place, will definitely come back. The staff is sweet as pie.

Very travel nurse friendly. Everyone I encountered there looked out for each other and everyone helped each other out. Beautiful lake. Plenty of hiking trails. Close to town. Very quiet. Full hook up and has laundry facilities.

The Park is clean and Beautiful only thing is like.last year. No handicap assistance on using the bathrooms We couldn't drive up to the Bathrooms the staff lock the gates or fix it where u can't drive up to the bathroom. Don't think it's fair for Handicap people.

The campground is nestled in a small holler. It's just 32 spaces, with an additional 10, tent only going up the back end of the campground under trees. There is no type of privacy foliage between campsites, and some are completely surrounded by other sites. The further one goes towards the back of the campground, the narrower the space between sites. The best part is all the sites are full hookups. There is one bathhouse at the rear of the campground, and it was always clean. However, there was never any hand soap on the women's side, and it was empty on the men's the last day we were there. There is a nice playground next to the bathhouse and another in the park itself, which is actually closer to the campsites at the front end. Several campers had dogs, and for the most part, the dogs were leashed and picked up after. There is a nice boat ramp for those who had boats. The lake itself is small, which surprised us by the number of large houseboats anchored at the Marina. The short width of the lake made for an exciting view of a mated pair of Bald Eagles, which according to a local, nest there. If you needed anything or were tired of your own cooking, Paintsville is a short distance away, and far enough so town noise doesn't bother you.

A very nice place to stretch your feet. Lots of room to park and setup camp. There are also several places to picnick and not get wet. A children's playground is also there, so it's all age appropriate. Bathrooms were unexpectedly clean and I noticed minimal trash outside. It seems that they regularly tidy it up throughout the day. Could use a few more benches by the lake for fisherman, but overall a very nice place to meet family and friends. I was there in the daytime which was pleasantly quiet. Great for pictures too. Enjoy this little treasure in Kentucky.

The employees were helpful, answered all questions. The grounds were very well kept. No trash on grounds. The restrooms were always clean. Same for the showers. The park is pet friendly. There is a small play area for children. The lake has fishing and swimming. There are hiking trails, gift shops.
