If you remember Dairy Cheer from the 70's this location may have the same name and sign but the food and service is not the same. The hot dog sauce (chili) is definitely different. The slaw is different. The service is no where near as good as it used to be. The people are very nice but efficiency is sorely lacking at this location. Customer wait times are awful. With effective management and going back to the way Dairy Cheer used to be would be great. But sadly I will not be back. And that is a shame.

This was always a family favorite. We would go out of our way to go here and eat together! They used to have the biggest and best burgers around! They would give you good hot large meals at a very good price. That's all changed now. The burger was small and expensive and cold. The bacon on the burger was old and hard, very hard. Despite the cold old food we were served it didn't taste bad lol The sides were cold and a very small portion was given. However the onion rings and deep fried mushrooms were delicious!!They kept screaming while we were inside eating. I think maybe they were telling the ending of the order number they completed. But come on lol. It startled me everytime and made it a very unpleasant experience. The first time they yelled I jumped from being startled and dropped my dang food. The second time my drink. I took a video lol it won't let me post it. It was very disruptive and rude to me. I don't plan on returning. Also the large drinks are very high priced and not even the size of a medium else where.

Dairy Cheer is a hard place to review. It has been a staple of food service in Prestonsburg for as long as the majority of the population remembers. It definitely has its good parts, but because of its smaller local based presence it can some consistency issues. I bought the Smash Burger and what was in the past the signature side of Dairy Cheer the Onion Rings.The burger was good. A little too much bun for the meat for my liking and a little overcooked. The real issue for me was the distinct charred flavor on the onion rings and the overt amount of residual grease. Both indicators that the oil in the fryer needs filtered and/or changed. Now this wouldn’t be too much of an issue but their onion rings can be the best ever it is almost a sin for them to be done this way.

Just left from here and the wait time was awful. Went through drive-thru that had sign say "Pull up to window" so we did and instead of taking our order, they took the people behind us and we had to call out to them. The girl instead put their order in then came to our car and we ordered. Once we ordered and paid, we waited for 30 minutes for food, only to receive the wrong order. We got the car behind us instead of our order and they had to double-check. We waited even more. Finally the food was brought out but still no drinks. So we waited AGAIN. And then I finally got out to remind them and they admitted they forgot about it and started to make them. One of the girls kept laughing saying "I keep messing people's orders and forgetting they're there!" And I found it super distasteful, especially considering the fact we we were waiting for such a long time. I really love Dairy Cheer but I'm probably not gonna come back for a while.

We were in town for a concert at the MAC, and needed a bite to eat. Service was fast, super friendly, and delicious (even despite the super rude customer in front of us). Their onion rings are especially amazing!! What a great little place. So glad we tried it. Thank you!

Awesome service. Cole slaw wasn’t drenched in sauce and tasted like how it’s served in Germany and Austria. Curly fries were great and the hotdog is always good. Flounder and shrimp was well priced.

Never a let down!I highly suggest the Smasharu and fried banana peppers!The footlong hotdogs is out of this world also.You can still get REAL superman ice cream.It is definitely a local gem.

I grew up with a Dairy Cheer in my home town. I was blown away with how much the chili dog tasted the same as I remembered it and took me back to my childhood! The onion rings were excellent as well!

was very disappointing they rang it up wrong and came to get more money half way through waiting and supposedly didn't hear that I also ordered fries for myself so all I got was a super disappointing plain sandwich with literally just chicken and bread. Even my kids didn't eat all the food because it was just mostly bun. The waitress had a terrible attitude to the point other customers refused to have the order taken by her and another customer was demanding his money back because of how long it took to get his order.

The food here is great. I got a hot dog, and it reminded of the hot dogs we got when I was a kid. My daughter really liked her chicken sandwich. My wife wasn't pleased with her fish, as it was overcooked. Fish should be a light golden color, not brown. It dries out when over cooked. The place was packed, so service was slow, and the dining room was a mess, including a giant puddle of spilled pop, that no one attended to. But good food means a lot. I would go back

The absolute worse food I've ever tries to eat. I'm not from here but my daughter said they had better food than the other Dairy ?????. One bite of my foot long hot dog and that was enough. It was just plain bad. The onion rings were just tolerable. The service was the slowest drivethru I have ever seen.

Very nostalgic! Loved this place as a kid! We went around lunchtime and had to wait a few minutes in drive thru because they were packed. So that should say something about their great food! Very nice waitress who was very attentive even though she was going back and forth from car to car taking orders and bringing the food. My SMASHBURGER was amazing! And the deep fried mushrooms were perfectly golden brown! I can't wait to come back here in 3 months from now when I bring my husband to his next Dr. apt! You guys are great! Thanks so much!😃
