Patsy and Tammy keep the whole place moving. They do their best to do what's needed. The kennels are always clean. The cats and dogs are exceptionally cared for. These are a couple rescues I wished I could have kept.

I went there to get a voucher to get my 8 month old kitten fixed at the vet. They are partnered with Friends of the Shelter to help those in need to get get their furry loved ones spayed or neutered. I also adopted a beautiful Pitt/Lab mix dog in the fall of 2019, he is the most adorable big boy ever!

Went to get spay certificate on the 1st of April which was a Saturday. Lady came out & said they didn't give them out on weekends & it was on message on machine for shelter,not true. Myself and another lady told her it wasn't we had called it before coming. Lady got smart & told us we were lying it was in it. I got in my car & called shelter # AGAIN & it of course said nothing about weekends. I left a message telling her to listen to the outgoing message herself. I was livid at being accused of lying.

Great friends folks doing a hard job. They need more funds to care for more and house more animals. Many are haveing to be uthenized and it's so sad.

Not sure how it is with their cats, but most of the dogs that are pure bred, calm natured, or even just pretty get sent to rescue within 24 hours after they arrive. As an example, at 4 pm a pair of collie mix pups were posted as available for adoption. Upon arriving at 9 AM (opening time) the next day, they had already been promised to rescue, and could not be adopted. The only ones left showed aggressive tendencies.

They came out, explained the process, made sure we knew exactly what was required of us and had the info we requested already. No matter, they seem pretty good about posting all thier information outside on the bulletin board. So we would have known even if nobody had been there.

The environment around the shelter was pretty from being surrounded by forestry.The staff was helpful and friendly. And most of the animals there seemed fat and happy when I interacted with them.

Workers are great. People think that they just sit behind a desk when the animals come first, hence the answering machine. Your call will be returned, but you're not a priority over these animals. Considering most, if not all, the workers have adopted from the shelter, they take care of the animals like their own and see bad cases.People will get mad at the shelter no matter what, thinking they do not follow the law considering they work for the county, and it's frustrating, wanting their wants met over the animals. The shelter can only do so much with what they're given, and if they could rescue every animal they would. Spay/neuter your animals and keep them leashed. There are so many dogs that just roam then pregnant females are brought to them because of the lack of time/funds/whatever to provide. They offer vouchers for spaying and neutering. Use it, make their job easier and a lot less heartbreaking when they have the same dog for 5 years.

The manager isn't the best.. She's got a bad attitude and she needs to care more about the animals she suppose to be providing shelter for! I only gave two stars because I'm still hopeful that our county will replace her with someone who genuinely cares for these animals.

Called and/or stopped at a couple shelters. The staff was friendly. Helpful in what we specifically was looking for. Shelter was clean and animals well cared for. Adoption fee was $70 and well below normal fees (small dog).

It's a nice facility but they really need to expand and offer discounted spays and neuters to better impact our community. The local vets need to step up their support with thos so we can save more lives and help more people fix their pets.

Staff don’t really seem to care about their job, and seem as if they don’t even wanna be there. Not the friendliest or welcoming. Not really an experience I’d do if it weren’t for the animals. Not everyone there is like this but perception is everything

I got my Chloe from the animal shelter . She was a great dog. Part of the family. I miss her so much. She went over the Rainbow Bridge.

We ended up with a dog that attacked 3 out of 5 of our children biting 1 of them and when we tried to rehome it he bit that persons dog as well, they took the dog back but didn't offer any type of restitution like our money back or to try another dog so we were just out $70 plus food and supplies for the animal and have nothing to show for it, some animals are sadly not able to be around children but we were given no warnings or anything instead we were told to maybe give him more time when he almost took our son's eye out and the baby has scars on his face that may never go away.

I've been trying to get ahold of the staff in this facility for almost 3 weeks now. I have 2 stray dogs that were abandoned on my property and i have to many animals as it is. I've called dozens of time but only get an answering machine and when I leave my information I've never gotten a call back you people dont seem to care about these animal's at all.

Kids or very inexperienced young people left in charge all day with no idea what to do. I also watched a woman trying to ring bell to drop off cats. From the looks of it she got awful service to. Wouldn't drop a pet rock off there. Sure as hell wouldn't call them for anything.

Been calling for a month and left messages for a call back each time but they have never answered or called back. Drove by there several times and the gate was shut and locked each time even though workers are there.

I would not give this manager 1 star we told her that we was given a dog water because the owner was never home so if you can believe this she said not to give the dog Water
