My recent visit to Food City was good overall. I only needed to grab a few things as I was traveling, but this is a normal stop for me as they are well stocked, easy to get in and out, and fast. The store layout was decent, and I found most of the items I needed without much difficulty. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

I came here about 2 days ago and had the worst experience with the manager (he pulled off his name tag when I asked his name) I came in with 2 friends to buy beer (all of age) and they asked for our ID's we presented them and the CHILD behind the counter told me my license was expired (valid till 2027) so he called said manager over to confirm everything we stood there talking even though he had an immediate attitude while he checked out all the ID's when he suddenly started being 10x more snarky and when we said "you don't have to be rude about it" he IMMEDIATELY told us he didn't have to sell this to us so we told him fine whatever he that way. He never asked us to leave, even though we already were, but then proceeded to call the police and get us banned from the property lying to the cop telling him we threatened him and was disturbing other customers. This is pathetic but I'm not surprised. Get it together people. NONE OF US SHOULD BE BANNED FOR TRYING TO LEGALLY PURCHASE ALCOHOL AND THIS WAS ONLY CONFIRMED BY THE OFFICER! I will be contacting corporate, I will be coming for that managers job, and I will never be shopping at food city again even if my ban gets lifted.

My family of 7 ordered our Thanksgiving dinner from Food City for the first time ever. We got a complete meal with all the fixings, plus I ordered extra desserts, like Dutch Apple Pie, Pecan Pie and Coconut Cake. It was delicious and we still had leftovers for three days. It was surprisingly cheap too and only cost $140. Just be sure to call ahead and place your order a week or more ahead of time because I waited until four days before thanksgiving and all the time slots were booked so we had to wait until one day late, but we didn’t mind cause it was well worth it.

It's pretty good store they just take for ever to get something back in once they sale out of something like maple goodies the candies that are maple flavored yea I see the sticker where they used to be I remember them being there but it's been over a year and they've never gotten them in.. but besides that the workers are friendly and always willing to help if needed only other problem I can recall having is with the gas pump when you use a cash app credit card after hours for the pumps it will take 175$ pre authorization fee even if you only buy 7$ worth of gas an it takes up to a week to get that back it did for me i couldn't get anyone to help get my money back once it took it from my card cash app was telling me food city was responsible for returning it because it was taken off from their gas pumps while foodcity was telling me that cash app was responsible for giving it back because there company was who has placed the hold on the money not food city but finally was a terrible time for me but eventually everything was sorted out an I got my money back took a week but I got it

Food City prices have just steadily gotten higher over the last couple years. Last month my husband bought me a bag of mandarin oranges and their was 2 that was molded.

When I go there I bag my own stuff. If there actually is someone there to that, they don't pay attention to what's going Into the bags. Chemicals getting tossed in the everything else and so on. Usually the cashiers are functional at best. Occasionally get one with manors... generally kids who tend you treat you like your bothering them. Put self checkout in at the shelby. If I have to bag my stuff to I might as well do the cashiers job too.

My wife and I were shopping and next to meat counter! Woman in behind counter was sick, coughing, gagging I to her hand then handling raw meat without washing her hands! Disgusting practice! Brought it to the attention if one if the managers. Man with semi bald head. Went back next day and she was still in meat room with no gloves handling raw meat! For those in the know...this was THE GRUNDY STORE!

I understand that a lot of items are just not available and the cost of things are rapidly going up. The stores claim the big rise in prices is due to cost of fuel going up. The last few weeks fuel prices have fell almost daily. Why doesn't we the consumers see the price of items reflect this decrease? It's not just this store btw

Compared to my hometown food city in Greeneville Tennessee on 11 e they are 10 to 1. The staff is courteous the management knows what they are doing and the shelves are stocked... especially when it comes to ordering the specials for the weekly ads. Obviously a different region.

They usually have all I need. The Gatorade truck needs to leave more. Not Food City's fault. The meat is awesome. If you don't want to pay the price, wait for the sale. Overall, it's clean, nice, people are great and goods are available. No need to run around to look for stuff. And there's Starbucks,!

Passing through to Prestonsburg and I wish we had kept going. The most unfriendly people I have ever come across in my life. Not 1 smile, not 1 how are you today.... Our cashier did not speak, smile or even tell us our total. Horrible experience

Most of the other reviewers must be either living in a different time/space continuum than me or are just plain filthy rich. That’s OK, if they are fine with it. But why so few complaints the ridiculously high prices that Food City has across the board. Is there something I am missing here? Their sale prices don’t even come down the other grocery stores everyday prices. Yes, the store is clean, modern, and the employees are helpful, but that doesn’t justify the sky-high prices. For value I go to Save A Lot, for selection I go to Walmart, and as the last resort I go to Food City.

Amazing bakery! We ordered 2 cakes for recent birthdays and they were ready within about 5 hours for pickup. They were fresh and beautiful! And the staff were so friendly and helpful unlike some other places we have ordered! Will never go anywhere else for bakery items!

Love it! Most people there are really nice especially Shawn Tackett. I absolutely love him, use to be neighbors and we all miss that! Lol. We do all of our grocery shopping there plus the gas visits are nice! The only thing I don't like is I have to bag my own groceries if I'm in a hurry 😤 They definitely need some baggers at every register 🤔

I love Food City. I met my wife while we both worked there 25 years ago. I was bagging groceries when I met the most beautiful cashier I have even seen. She was smart, cool, and so pretty. I'm so thankful I worked there. They provide our town with groceries and jobs. And now after 23 years of marriage we still go in to shop there and reminiscence of our wonderful younger days. I love our little food city. It has everything we need. From bread to beer the store is generally well maintained. Besides the meats section smalling like fish due to the live lobsters, the store generally is odor free. The cashiers are typically nice and cuedeous. They even offer to help you carry your groceries out.

I always enjoy stopping in getting what I need , when ever I come into town for a visit , Let’s me know there is still people that takes pride in there jobs. The sweetest people the store is always clean. I moved in 2015 and it made me smile to see my home town just been what they was raised to do, I think I stopped in 3/4 times and always greeted with a smile nice conversation, glad to help in any way they could, I stopped at the on at Shelbianna Ky my husband went to the one in pikeville ky,and he said he visit was just as pleasant, So a big thank you to all food city employees for making our visit a lil more nicer, from the cashier to the deli workers to the men:wemen stocking and cleaning thank you for taking pride in your job, and it shows that you care believe me I’ve been in stores where it just about $ and the stores not clean or you cannot get anyone to help you, and from employees rude so Is most of the customers,

Very friendly staff! They obey and adhere strictly to covid19 mandates and restrictions. They keep merchandise well stocked. Prices are decent for the area mattering what you purchased. Higher prices compared to Kroger and walmart. Foodcity brand items are good. When shopping sales look at prices carefully. Their deals on some items especially bogo items aren't as good as they seem. Pay attention to the sale price compared to original price
