Dollar General, since you can't afford to pay cashiers to ring up folks' purchases and thus require customers to ring up their own items - then don't have your associates standing on top of me making sure I'm scanning everything!If they can stand and watch me ring up items, then they can ring up my items for me. Furthermore, if you trust me well enough to require that I ring up my items, you shouldn't need an associate standing at the self checkout making sure I'm ringing up everything.We had that experience in Owingsville yesterday. I didn't get mad at the associate. They are just doing as they are told. But it makes me mad that the company refuses to pay cashiers to ring up items, but then has the same associates standing right beside you at the self check out making sure you scan everything. They are worse than Walmart.

Updated Review: Yeh the prices are still wrong and we'll, their refrigerator is always broke? For a store that's hasn't been open long, who ever was contracted to build it did a horrible job. Aside from their fridges always being down and the prices never being right the roof is always leaking. However, I'll bump my review up a star because they do have some really great and friendly staff members and it isn't their fault that there is always these issues.Previous Review:Every single time I go to the store here they charge an EXTRA $1.50 or more that the price. I'm on my 5th receipt and again every single thing that was rang up is WAY higher than the prices listed.CHECK YOUR RECIEPT BEFORE YOU LEAVE THIS STORE! Someone is cheating the system!

Prices are a lil higher than other dollar stores and if you have cash it's kinda a pain to use it. Just trying to weed out cash and go to a cashless society. Out of alot of stuff constantly. Two stars for friendly staff. This place will absolutely screw you. They try to say items are on sale but when you get up to the front to pay for the items They are not on sale and you have to get a associate to help you I believe dollar store purposely does this to cheat people out of their hard-earned money . BEWARE

I like the store, however today I was in there and they had some crates in the isle, I was near one and had to move close to it to let people pass me. I ended up falling over it, there was an employee not far from me facing my way, he did nothing. He had to of seen or heard cause things got knocked over. Now both of my legs have knots and bruises on them and are aching.

The workers are great but they need more help!! This is not their fault! They check you out as fast as possible but it's always backed up! Not a great thing during these uncertain times!The parking lot is always cluttered with trash and needs resurfacing! No clear parking spots.They have other shops near them that possibly contribute to the trash problem.Just not a good location.

The people are friendly enough (when they stick around for more than a month.)This place is always a mess, though. Shelves are cluttered and never organized, stuff in the floor, things out of place. It's pretty annoying when you're looking for something in particular. If you needed help finding something, you won't get it because there are only 2 employees there and you can rarely find the second.

Store was an absolute mess. Kind of reminded me of an after the apocalypse feel. Nothing where it belonged. Very cluttered and disorganized. Was very shocked as this used to be a great store.

The Owingsville Dollar General was quite messy. You couldn't even see the Halloween candy for the racks awaiting placement on the shelves blocking it. I like Dollar General overall; I just wish the corporate office would visit all the stores and see how the stores look. Perhaps give local management the training they need in order to keep the stores organized.

This particular store is my favorite. I'm always greeted with a friendly smile. Plus I really like how it's organized, everything is where it's supposed to be.

Prices on items are different when you go to check out told cashier and he told me he knew and they only adjust prices when they are told by the customer at check out

The parking lot is too dark.very unsafe.the signs need bulbs. Cant see from road. Wont be back,need pole lights there .

Typical DG. Takes a professional stunt driver to avoid all the potholes. Employees aren't the friendliest either.
