Once upon a child has really improved. I was greeted with smiles and helpful employees. I was offered a fair amount for my son's old clothes and even got him more at a fair price.

Took in a whole tote of girls boutique outfits brand new with some other non boutique outfits. Now first off I know they can't pay you brand new prices as they have to make money I get it but the offered me $100 for over $400 worth of stuff. Second I had pictures of everything I took in because I had posted them on fb yard sale pages as well. I had 2 & 3 piece sets new with the tags and only got 1 & 2 pieces of the sets back, they took tags off of my brand new items for what ever reason, I had like 5 onesie sets all new on the hanger they took all of them off the hanger and ripped the new tags off, through away the hangers new items were on. And so much more then should never be accepted by any business. I don't live in town and said I would just hang around there till they were done and they said it's ok we will call you when your others are done well I know exactly why now because they steal items while going through them. I could understood some of these things had I of actually sold the items to them but I didn't sell anything. Oh and lastly I was trying to look through the blue tote they put all the stuff in they wanted to buy and the girl proceeded to tell don't mess those clothes up we have them in there the way we want them.

I've been going here for years, consistently buying all my kids clothes from here. Yet the past 5 times I have visited I have experienced nothing but rudeness from the employees. Not sure if it's due to the new ownership or what but I will never return to this place and will continuously pass my experiences on to others. I'm pretty laid back when it comes to things but the customer service here has drastically declined.

Drove an hour to come shop just for the doors to be locked and no one answering the phone. Online is says open 10-8pm.Then the door has a paper taped stating 10-2 and 4-8 then below that saying mom-sat 10-8.So which is it? If you’re going to change the hours it needs to be updated online.

If it wasn’t for the late afternoon shift girls I would have given 1 star. The girl that was there this morning with dark hair and glasses has terrible terrible costumer service. She was rude. She obviously doesn’t like her job. But the two young ladies that were there this afternoon were much more pleasant and nice.

I called the store over a bit of confusion over some clothes I had took to the store. The lady who answered was rude. I had started to talk when she did & the way she rudly tried to shut me down was astounding. I'm not stupid nor am I a rude customer so I won't be treated like one. I believe this is the same employee several people have had not the most pleasant encounters with. If you're going to be in customer service at least have a better attitude.The manager I spoke with on the other hand was super nice & helpful. A good attitude & tone of voice goes a long way.

Customer service today was awful. I wasn’t greeted when I walked in. They seemed irritated that I was there to drop off clothes. Once I went to get my money for the clothes she was extremely rude to me because I wanted to see what they were going to buy for $14.00 which is a joke it’s self. I had lots of name brand clothes for toddler and they didn’t take them. I will never be back here. They definitely need to work on their customer service skills.

Prices are great! They have a Facebook account where they post every single day. And so far of what I've seen they have a new deal every day. I wish I found this place sooner. I regret not going in sooner. They have clothes, shoes, toys, accessories, and equipment. I honestly can't complain about price at all. You can donate things there as well.

The employees are very rude now.They only talk to each other and can’t even greet anyone. Anytime I go into to drop my clothes off, they say “you’re too late” even though they open 30 minutes prior to coming in.Been coming to this store for years but would rather pay full price for clothes now then to deal with these employees/ management.

They are so rude! They act like it's Black Friday and people are lined up out the door to drop off clothes. Went in 15 minutes after they opened and they wouldn't take my clothes because apparently "We only take 20 drop offs a day".

Horrible customer service. The variety of clothes and prices are good but customer service goes a long way. Good attitudes, smiles, to be greeted and not given dirty looks. It’s all a must. I believe some people should work in the back and not deal with customers. Probably the same one everyone else has complained about.

Two things- first, customer service is horrible. A girl with dark hair & glasses was terribly rude. We ended up paying $40 for a jumper with music. When we got it home it didn’t work even with batteries. We called to ask about it & the lady we talked to rudely reminded us that “it is a USED store.” She said that they test everything before putting it out…. So I asked why they don’t disclose that things don’t work & she couldn’t give me an answer other than it’s a used store. I’m fine with the $40 price tag, but if you know something doesn’t work I would disclose that on the tag.

When I dropped off a lot of nice equipment I was told they would pay cash. I came back 2 hours later to pick up and they had children working the register, no adults around, and told me they would have to write a check since it's over $75. The little girl called her mom to ask if they could do anything else and she offered me store credit. I would not have wasted my time had I known. Next time I will drive to Evansville so I can deal with adults.

I have consigned with Once Upon a Child in Owensboro numerous times in the past with little to no issue and I felt I was given fair prices for my clothing. The past few times my consigning experience has gone downhill due to unprofessional workers. Today, was the last time I will try to consign here. I stopped by yesterday to drop off clothing and was unable to due to computer issues. This is totally fine and completely understandable. I decided I would go by this afternoon and prior to going I called to make sure their computers were up and running and they were accepting clothes. I was assured they were able to do both. I immediately left my house and drove the 30 minutes to drop off my clothes. Upon arriving to the store I noticed there was a sign stating “ they no longer were accepting items today.” I went inside the store to drop off my tote because I was assured 30 minutes prior to arriving they would take my items. I walked in and the employees immediately told me they would accept my tote. I told them I had just gotten off the phone and was told to bring it in and it would be accepted and I just drove 30 minutes specifically to drop off this ONE tote. One of the employees did not seem to care about ethics or want to honor their word and told me “well it’s a first come first serve basis.” They even acknowledged they spoke with me. I could understand them not taking it if I hadn’t called, but I was assured prior to my trip they would take the tote. I even told them I wasn’t interested in picking up my cash today and yet they still didn’t care. An hour of my day has now been wasted due to this establishment and their employees. I will not consign or purchase at this location again.

I was in the store and the workers were just standing around doing nothing. Despite that they told me it would take them 2 hours to go through the clothing I brought in. I bought clothes and the person checking me out insulted the clothing I was buying from the store. And then I came back 2 hours later and they offered me 2 dollars for all the clothes I brought in. I spent more in gas than they paid me. And they also insulted the clothes I dropped off. Never again.

I give this location a middle of the road score as I have had really good experiences both selling and shopping here, as well as a few that were so bad I didn't return to the store for months to over a year's time. The selection of clothing/shoes available here is amazing if you are shopping for the 8 and under lot; however, it really dwindles downhill from there with 9 to 12 year old's attire being a hit or miss game. If you are shopping for either a child older than 12 or one who is a bit larger than average, just save yourself a trip, as the selection for these will be literally nonexistent! The toys & sporting goods sections work in virtually the same manner: Lots of inventory for toddlers up to 2nd graders and not much else. As a buyer, you can usually find some heavenly deals, especially when they run featured item sales. You'll occasionally run into a few wickedly over priced items but overall it's fair pricing. Where OUAC can get dicey is with it's employees. While most of the young ladies who staff this shop are nice, helpful & polite, there are several of them working there that seem to really get their kicks by being as rude to the customers as they can, constantly changing "the company policy" to suit their own need for an early night or just to fulfill their standard meanness quota for the day; this last applies particularly to late in the day shoppers and anyone attempting to sell items that they just don't like the look of.

If I could give zero stars I would main woman that works there is extremely rude. I’ve been told multiple things about when you can bring items or not then tell me my tote was too big she was yelling at her employees in front of customers and when I mentioned there are so many specifications to be able to bring things in she told me not to come back!!! RUDEST PEOPLE IVE EVER MET AND I PROMISE I WILL NOT BE BACK - I’ll drive to Bg before I ever help this business again!! If you don’t know how to treat people don’t work in retail!

I give reviews because I find them helpful too. This is the only time I can think of that I had to make a negative one to post. I shop at this store near my home and it's great. But I'm out of town and stopped at this Owensboro location...The staff are very rude. No welcome in the door. They were complaining loudly about their boss and if they were to show up. Well they need to show up! I got smirks and laughs when I was obviously looking for something in particular. No offer of assistance. No good bye or thank you on the way out the door. Clothes were extra worn out for the bigger size groups which makes sense but they are priced as much if I bought it new at Wal-Mart and it was a Wal-Mart brand even.

With an unexpected pregnancy we were not prepared for the cost of having a baby, but thanks to this store we have found so many nice high quality items for such a low price! The workers are always so friendly and we can count on the store having what we need at a price we can afford! So happy this store came to Owensboro!

Store was ok, but I wasn't overly impressed. While a lot of their clothes were in good, used condition, I would say that a good third of the items were kind of dingy - it seemed as if they take in some pieces no matter what they look like. (This applies more to pajamas than anything else though I did notice it with their daytime clothes as well.)The other thing I didn't care for was some of their pricing. For anyone that shops The Children's Place online, you know what great sales they offer and that sales are pretty regular and consistent. If I can buy a brand new pair of their pajamas online for $10 (shipping is always free with this company), I'm sure not going to spend $8 on a used, dirty pair. Same with some of their Nike pieces. The athletic-type jackets were $14-$16 (2T) used. You can get them at TJ Maxx for about that.I went ahead and gave them 4 stars because I did notice some prices that were actually really good prices. You just have to hunt through the clothes. They also offer different daily discounts and have a wheel you can spin after you spend $10 for a prize. You can get an additional discount, free clothing item, free book, etc.Also, all of their clothes are meticulously grouped depending on size, clothing type, and even color! Everything is extremely easy to find. They have a nice sized toy section with very reasonably priced toys and books. And their employees are incredibly polite. They're not very knowledgeable, unfortunately, if you ask a question but perhaps I asked someone who was new.I believe I would return when I had more time to browse and give this store a second chance. Who knows? Maybe if I spent longer inside shopping, I would find a reason to go ahead and give them that 5th star.You should definitely try this store. Just make sure you have time to scour for the best prices and steer away from the pajamas!

This place is an absolute joke. 4 trips in the past 24 hours trying to consign items. First day I took a small box of shoes and a tote of clothes. Was told that the tote was too large. Took smaller totes back when I picked up the remainder of the shoes, only to be told one drop off a day was allowed. Forward to today, drop off totes only to pick up later. Get there to pick up only be told they couldn't accept anything due to animal hair and they're not accepting spring and summer clothes anymore, that I needed to wash and return with fall and winter clothes. The clothes were clean to begin with. More 2 hours of my time, 4 trips in 24 hours, only to get $12 dollars for some shoes. I will not return. They waste people's time like it doesn't even matter. They'll be out of business soon enough and will be saying they don't understand why it happened. Never again will I return to this store.

Two stars because they are very organized. And to me, prices aren't horrible. I enjoy SHOPPING here for those two reasons only. However, everytime I sell here.. I hate myself for days. They don't pay you anything. I have regretted my sale both times I brought stuff in. And to top it off, the staff is rude. I had two babies in tow and had to ask several times for help bringing stuff in, and carrying my leftovers out and both times was greeted with eye rolls and huff's and puffs. (Except the male who works here, he was SUPER friendly and understanding of why I needed help). And it just doesn't feel very good to hear a certain employee complaining about your products you brought in while you shop. "This whole tote and all I got was six pieces..are you kidding me!?" I really feel this one particular staff is infecting the rest, everytime I'm in I hear her complaining and gossiping about other people and it seems everytime I go back, even the new people have her bad attitude. I'm just so disappointed 👎

Great shop for gently used baby and children's clothing and other items. I'll definitely return to pick up a swing or stroller accessories. Would've liked to have seen a little more maternity clothing, but what was available was nice and in good condition. Good prices, too!

They’re a freaking joke anymore. There clothes aren’t worth looking at because they’re too lazy to accept clothes anymore. I went to find my 5 year old child a wardrobe for school and nothing they had nothing. Wish I could give them zero stars. Whoever runs this place needs to get down there and run it cause the ladies there sure the heck aren’t.
