Grabbed some food here after doing the Cascade Cave tour nearby. Our group ordered the BLT dog, the tater tot dog, walking taco, spicy cheese curds, and a chocolate milkshake…everything was made to order and tasted great!

Was visiting Carter Caves State Park nearby, and stopped by Comet's for lunch. We got the Appalachian Dogs and Cheeseburger Sliders. In a word, delicious. The hotdogs they used tasted great and had "snap" (so NOT the soggy, water-cooked kind that some reviewers prefer), and buns were fresh and butter toasted. This place has everything you could want in a road side food stand (note: all outdoor seating). They do the eastern KY/WV chili dog style proud. (We'll have to come back sometime to try the ice cream).

I really hate to have to say tho but the food was not good at all. I ordered ball park hot dogs and received what appeared to be the “all beef (which I hate And are cheaper)”. I also had planned to leave a tip as I normally do but it took so long to get our food I gave up. On top of it, their excuse was it takes over 7 minutes to deep fry the tots and they were way overcooked. Guys, I’m terribly sorry but this was just not a good experience at all.

Good place to take the kiddos and just chill while your slurping those awesome snow cones down🌨️🙂🌨️🙂🌨️🙂Kid-friendliness: Me and my daughters (both are 4yrs) stopped to chill and one of them dropped hers within minutes, so I approached the ordering window to order another and the gentleman working refused to take my money and told me he had kids too and wanted to give her another on him. Big Shout out to the gentleman working that day and by the way! You have to STOP @ COMETS CONEYS & CREAMERY when you're in Olive Hill
