This place is pretty great and I love supporting small, local business!!! (The clientele isn't always stellar but you can't fault to store.) The prices are a bit high but the people that work there are really nice amd I LOVE Polly, the resident cat. They carry really great dog food options (I would recommend almost any that they carry). And when they didn't have the cat litter I wanted, they ordered it in for me! They have a fair and reasonable return policy. I recommend them over all the other chain petstores without hesitation.

Been going there since the 80's. Food I get is always fresh, pets seem happy, well kept, and staff know their stuff on all pets, not just dogs, like those rip off chain stores, where employees are just working to be working. Support mom and pop stores before the world turns into a mega target mall..

I have been to many pet stores. This pet store is by far the best place to shop for all ur pet needs the staff that works there are some of the best people I've ever had a chance to deal with would recommend this pet store to anyone.The workers there are so helpful an respectgul an caring..Animals are always taken care of just a great family pet store to go with your kids .

My family has been shopping here for years and would never go anywhere else. Phil is the best! He always made sure we had the vegetarian food we needed for our (allergic to everything)dog. I went into the big pet store once, when they were out of something I needed immediately. No one ever spoke to me, while I was there. They didn't even carry what I needed. Why would I go to a big chain, where they don't care if I'm there or not, when I can go where they know my name and my dogs!

Friendly and helpful. Has everything you need for your pets. You don't need to go to a chain when you have Planet Pet! They have fresh water fish as well as salt water fish, aquariums, supplies and fish food. Shampoos, treats, beds, and other dog and cat "necessities". Hamsters, Guineas, Snakes too. Pleasant stop without the distraction of being overwhelmed.

Planet pet is a true local neighborhood store. They employ a local teens and cater to all types of pet owners and needs. And what is especially nice is that they really care about the animals they sell and the pets they are in business for. Great employees.

Has a lot of live animals. Sweet cat that hangs out in the store. Will come again. Feels a bit dark/dingy. I'm sure it's clean. Perhaps it's the lighting/older floor tile that give that feel.

The sold me bad aspen a few years ago killed my husbands red tailed boa. They didnt even compensate and Zilla the manufacturer compensated us and zoomed sent us gifts for other snakes. This place is very lazy have always had dead lizards and fish and sick animals.worst place ever.

So Sad this place is closing. Great customer service. Always came here for all my animal supplies. Wish it would have stayed open or even moved o a bigger location in Newport.

Gentlemen was less than friendly, seemingly as if I was wasting his time standing by the register! Best I can say is they had what I needed and I will be gracing another business with my money due to his demeanor.

The male employee handled the rats by grabbing several of them by the tails which hurts them. They put all of the boy and girl rats together so female rats may/may not be pregnant. I just can't believe how poorly the rats are being treated here it was honestly depressing.

The had a decent selection of stuff. The store seemed a little ghetto and run down. A hand full of items for sale here are a lot cheaper at the big box stores.
