From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a warm hello and a smile. It's has a very southern feel and I mean that in all the best way. The owner was greeting everyone and making you feel like family.The wait was very short. The menu isn't all that big but the food makes up for it with a very big flavor. The portion sizes are enough that it makes for a good value.Oh! Don't forget the homemade pie!

Tonight was the first time trying out The Rex. Very friendly waitstaff, extremely reasonable pricing and family friendly atmosphere.Enjoyed a cup of their “always free” coffee to start of my meal. My son very much enjoyed his kids hot dog meal, which was better than your normal kids meal with a tasty looking dog and his choice of side item.The Mrs tried the Manhattan which was amazing and I had the veggie plate and pimento cheese sandwich on toast.Desert was a slice of freshly made coconut pie with a healthy merengue on top.Will be coming back whenever we visit the Somerset/Nancy area.Also, got to talk to the owner after dinner and meet Rex, the incredibly sweet and well behaved dog.

My husband and I ate at Rex tonight for the first time! Our server, Kim, was wonderful and had a delightful personality. She checked on us frequently asking how our food was. Our meal was amazing-true home style cooking. The kitchen did a masterful job keeping up with the orders as the dining room was almond 100% full. We will definitely go back. I want to eat breakfast with them!

This restaurant opened about three weeks ago and we've already visited six times. Chicken livers, hamburger steak, meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, and cheeseburgers are all great. Cole slaw is some of the best ever. The pies are all homemade and delicious. Prices are great. There's even a kids' menu for $3. It's a very affordable, home cooking restaurant. We will definitely continue to support this great new addition to Nancy.

Nice to have homemade Cracker Barrel like country cooking right up the road. The place was clean, the service was friendly and efficient, food came out quick and it was very good! Literally the best chicken tenders to be found anywhere in Somerset/Nancy and my husband loved the meatloaf (and he is picky about his meatloaf!). I love all the different options on the menu. We will be going back regularly to try something different each time.

So happy to have a sit down family home cooked style restaurant close to my parents. Loved the start up menu and look forward to coming back down from Ohio to visit my elderly parents and eat there again...a few times.Love the variety and the pricing is perfect. If you're looking for good, downhome country cooking, drive out to Nancy and check this place out. Hubby and I had lunch there today and we loved it. He had the pork tenderloin, coleslaw and a baked potato. I had the meatloaf, green beans and macaroni and tomatoes. Neither of us cared for the slaw but it sure seems to be popular with everyone else. I have to mention, this is the only restaurant I have ever been to that does macaroni and tomatoes right, and we eat out a lot. It's one of my go-to comfort foods from childhood and this was just as good as my momma used to make. I might get a big order to go next time. I can't speak for the dessert we brought home yet (cherry cobbler today) since we were still too full when we got home, but it looks really good. They also have a lot of different pies. Next visit I'll let you know how good their butterscotch pie is.Vegetarian options: They have a lot of veggie sides and for any vegetarian entree you can pick 4 of them. A couple may be seasoned with meat so I would ask just to be sure.Parking: You really have to watch for the signs with arrows pointing to the parking lot in the back. The restaurant is behind a house so it's easy to miss.Kid-friendliness: They have chicken tenders and burgers, plus milkshakes and ice cream. Should be enough to make all the kiddos happy, even if just stopping in for a treat.Wheelchair accessibility: Very nice ramp right next to the handicap spaces, and not too steep like many (offhand I would guess it's actually ADA compliant, unlike most, because I used to inspect handicap ramps).

Waitress and all employers was friendly and the owner. The food was average I got the vegetables plate the devil eggs, bake potatoes was good. The corn bread was dry and the tomatoes was hard but that was not there fault. Place was clean.Vegetarian options: They had about any vegetables you wanted. Well let's just say that the place was a funeral home before a restaurant, I told my self I wouldn't go because I'd walk out dead, unfortunately 3rd day opened kids wanted milkshakes, so me and my daughter go and picked up everyone a milkshake, 3 peanut butter milk shakes and one kid's cup, after drinking the milk shakes not even 2 minutes later we all got sicker than a dog, I personally don't have a issue with the people that are working there, but I do have a problem being served something that made us sick and waisted money I didn't have to waist, no more eating @ rex restaurant in Nancy Kentucky , won't do no good to talk to owner they act stuck up because they have more money than they know what to do with, sorry rex I even saved ur dog one day from being hit in the DG parking lot and this is the thanks I get, I hope you can stay in business long enough to recoup the money you waisted on place, now I'm just watching people dieing to get in 😂
