Dr.Mickey & his staff were wonderful!! The lady's at the front desk are so friendly and extremely helpful! Made me and Tank feel right at home!! They are not ridiculous on the pricing...If you are looking for a good & experienced vet...with good techs, great atmosphere, and decent pricing...I would highly recommend that you go see this bunch!!

If you have cute dog (aka all dogs) please be careful at Harlan Animal Hospital. They have a young tech that finds it okay making “jokes” about keeping your dog. She stated “don’t bother picking him up I’ll take him home” and when asking for him after his surgery she said “what dog?” When this was talk about with the front desk it was dismissed as just jokes as she apparently has 5 dogs at home so she wouldn’t take him. First he is mine so no one is taking him no matter how many dogs they have or don’t have, Second I don’t care if she is “joking” it’s unprofessional and not necessary.

I am originally from here, but I now live in Michigan. I adopted a female doggy, Miss Stella 🐾 ♥ from the local Harlan County Animal Shelter. Since I detest fleas & ticks I went here only for an oral flea preventive Rx for her before she left the shelter.They were friendly.I miss the original vet as he would come into our tiny communities for doggy & kitty vaccines ♥ 🐾

My boxer was seriously ill recentlyWith seizures, which happened abruptly with no warning. I took him to Dr. Mickey and he and his staff literally saved my dog's life. With blood work a special diet and medication my doggy has his health and happiness back. Thank GOD for their professionalism and caring for him. If Dr. Mickey advises certain medication or tests for your animal, be open minded and trust that he wants what's best for the animals.

Have had nothing but horrible experiences with this vet over the last two years. Last year, my dog somehow got under our house where there was rodent poison and I was worried that he may have eaten some so I was panicking. We called this vet and they said to bring him in even though it was close to closing time. We arrived 10 minutes before they were set to close and they told us that it was too late to see him even though they "supposedly" see animals after hours for emergencies. So they pretty much told my dog to go die. Ended up taking him to a much better vet office an hour away and he was luckily fine. Now, they won't even give him his much needed meds without any explanation. I'm sure it's because no actual office visit is involved so they don't get to make that office visit money. Other family members have had to find other animal hospitals because of horrible experiences, with one known case of a cousin's cat going in healthy for an office visit and dying two days later. Turned out they gave her the wrong meds that shut her kidneys down. Steer clear of this place unless you have no other options. Just know that you're pet may not survive the visit.

I’ve been taking my dogs here all of my life. I can honestly say I don’t trust anyone else with their care. Dr Mickey is 110% responsible for one of my dogs still being alive. I took her in as an emergency and he immediately looked at her. She stayed there for a few days on an IV and received blood transfusions and a plethora of medications. The cost for that was hundreds less than I thought it would be. I’ve never once felt that he has charged me too much. All of his staff is polite and amazing with my animals! If something is wrong with your pet but it was preventable on your part- he’ll tell you that. Some people think that’s arrogant, I think it makes him a good vet. He puts your animal’s health ahead of your pride. Absolutely recommend, 10/10.

They really lack in customer service and are worse for their concern for animals. I brought a rescue in about 45 min til closing and couldn’t get her vet checked so I drove to middlesboro animal clinic and got her vaccinated and cleared to be around my animals at home. Totally pathetic DVM don’t go there if you can help it so uncaring and unprofessional.

The Staff and Dr. we're all very pleasant to deal with. We just moved to town two months ago and we were very happy with this clinic and the bill also ! I'm sure we'll be back because we have 4 little dogs.Thank you much from all of us !

Took one of my cats in because of a severe respiratory problem. I didn't have a lot of money to work with. Dr. Mickey worked within my budget and did as much as he could to test my fur baby and get him the medicine he needed. 3 days later he is like a different animal. He was professional and compassionate as well as all his staff! Thank you all so very much!

Worst vet I have ever visited! Not only did I have an awful experience they are the soul reason my friends dog passed away!!The vet techs are so cruel and just rude. I took my fur baby to this vet probably a year or two ago. The vet himself was a sassy smarty pants. I asked him questions and he acted like I was stupid. I won’t be going back there for any reason. The only good thing about this animal hospital, in my opinion, is his staff. They were so gentle and sweet to my kitten. If you need to go there, just prepare yourself. He can be rude and make you have to bite your tongue.

If there was a way to give zero stars that's what he'd get because that's what he deserves. Dr. Mickey is an opportunist who has absolutely no compassion for animals. While getting my dog his shots a woman needed assistance, you could tell she was distraught and her situation was quite dire. But without payment, no services would be offered. So I saw this lady embarrassed and helpless leave. I understand he's in business to make money and provide a living for his family, but when is it ok to turn someone away when they need your help the most. People are turned away for their pet to die, it's not right. I will take my chances somewhere else. Cause this arrogant, condescending person should be put out of business.

I took my $1,500 American Bulldog here and the Vet was kinda rude. I purchased my dog from the top American Bulldog breeder in the world, Joshua Kennels. The Vet laughingly ask how much did I pay for him. I told him, and he asks if I researched my breeder. I informed him I read the book wrote about my breeder and I've been following him for yrs. The Vet was very insulting in my opinion. There was more things said that was kinda smart and not one time did he act as if he liked or cared for my pet. So I'll gladly drive farther to TRI-CITY ANIMAL CLINIC in Bean station Tn where they treat my pet very nice and not as a mut, in which if my dog was a regular mixed dog the vet shouldn't care.

Way over charged me!! I won't be going back there!! 😒 I've never paid over 50 dollars to get any of my animals fixed!! these guys charged me almost 3 hundred dollars!!! Wow!! The only reason I gave them a star is because my baby lived. And it wouldn't let me post this without it for some reason.

my pup stayed 5 days for Pancreatitis, Mickey said she was doing well, and released her, she died on way home. less then 30 mins.. the staff is amazing and caring people.

The vet assistant administered meds to my cat without discussing it with me. They were also rough with him and so was the doc. Never again! I will drive further for better treatment.

They tried to sell me something that was not safe for my rabbits and then I was lied to by the workers about use of the item. I do not recommend going to this vet clinic if you have exotic animals. I know many people who have been here and awful things have happened, I only went because I didn't want to have to drive 3 hours

*CROOK* Not surprised... I STRONGLY THINK he over charges! I got a cleaning and extractions, with the cleaning but he charged it as 2 separate procedures! Even tho I had them done at the same time!!! I talked to his workers as the procedure was going on and they spoke of extracting 1 tooth not 2!! But if u don’t pay they don’t give u ur animal. So I had to swallow that and pay BUT DONT GO!!! Soooo not worth it!!!!!! Lee county VA vet I s BETTER!!

Please go anywhere else. I don't know where he went to school but he has no idea about cats and the difference between a cats breed and color patterns. Also most male calicos and torties are sterile not "super breeders" because the have XXY chromosomes.

Took a puppy here once that had parvo and while I was sitting there crying my eyes out because I was a child at the time the vet just sat there telling me how it was preventable and then charged $200 to tell me there was nothing they could do. I will NEVER go here with my pets the vet is heartless save yourself the heart ache and go to bell county or anywhere besides here.

Amazing staff who are the perfect mix of professional honesty and compassion. My Jesse wouldn't be here if it weren't for them, they gave him the best fighting chance possible. Serious respect for HAH staff.
