What a great shop! Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice range of both indoor and outdoor plants. And a range of prices if you don't have a ton of money to spend. Lots of planter options--from basic and affordable to fun and unique. Nice selections of seeds and soils too. I really appreciate that some plants were labeled pet safe--especially since I have a cat who likes to sneak into off-limit rooms and chew on things! Wish there was a wider range of tools, but overall an excellent plant shop/garden store and I'll definitely be back.

Recently went to the Plant Kingdom for the first time. I like it and keep going back. They seem to have everything plant-related; so far I've bought a birch branch, potting mix, plastic saucers, and despite a self-imposed plant-buying moratorium, a Thanksgiving cactus. Employees are nice and helpful. I like supporting a local business, and this is a good one.

I’ve literally never owned a plant. Like ever. And I wanted to start with something beginner friendly and the staff there were very knowledgeable and helpful for getting me started! They suggested a snake plant and gave me other helpful tips too. Will be back for my next purchase :)

very nice and cute little place! person in there was nice and they were helping someone else with their questions and asked us if we needed help, had so many plants and pots and more. i got a plastic tray for a plant i already had and a string of bananas and a calathea and i will definitely be back to get more! pretty good prices in my opinion, good sized plants.

We had a great experience picking out our Christmas Tree! The staff was very hospitable and provided directions. The care and expertise when it comes to caring for plants was obvious, from the way the Christmas trees were stored to how they were packaged and the tree was freshly cut at the bottom of the trunk before being loaded up. Tony, the owner was very kind and helped us tie the tree down. Prices were competitive too. Highly recommended!

In April of 2017 I purchased a Coral bark maple from the Plant Kingdom in St. Matthews, we took very good care of this tree as we have all of our beautiful landscaping and have never lost a plant to any neglect. In the spring of 2018 we noticed that the tree was starting to appear somewhat sick and thought that maybe it was the harsh change in seasons, unfortunately the tree died as the picture shows. Before this situation reached this point I contacted the Plant Kingdom and they stated that their policy that the tree had a 1 year guarantee if they planted it and 3 months if I planted it, "Sorry" at the cost of $197.00. I made another call a little later and spoke with the owner who finally said I will give you 30 percent off, if you want to replace it with another just like it. I feel that some could have reached out to me and maybe offered to take a look at the tree and give me their opinion of what they thought might have caused this tree to die, but no one offered. I feel the tree had issues unbeknownst to me and in my opinion I feel that the Plant Kingdom has very high prices and no and customer service when something like this occurs. I just lost $197.00 and will never consider the Plant Kingdom for anything, they could have followed up with me if they truly care about repeat business rather than just "Sorry" but they didn't.

If you’re looking for plants and you didn’t find it, then it doesn’t exist. This place has everything. The folks there are very helpful. Ok. So why the 2 stars? This place is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. What a shame. I could have dropped some serious cash here…but not at those prices.

Excellent local nursery. Great quality plants, for a variety of prices. Much better than things I've ordered online. Also very kind and helpful staff. Plus they have decent priced soils that are harder to find around here.

I got the most beautiful flowers from here. I ordered online and picked up curbside. It was quick and efficient. Staff was so helpful in calling me and suggesting alternatives to the one thing in my order they didn’t have in stock. A couple of weeks later, everything is thriving and blooming gorgeously.

EDIT: I revised my rating. The staff has been extremely attentive and offered a replacement for my string of pearls and also offered to take a look at any concerning things on any plants via picture to give advice. I really appreciate that they took the time to do this.Kind of disappointed. I bought a string of pearls and it was crawling with aphids. I didn't realize while I was there or I wouldn't have gotten it. Pretty unimpressed to spend $30 on a plant to have it full of pests. My string of dolphins I bought and a begonia were fine, but now I might put a magnifying glass to them and have another look. Also worth noting that all four plants I bought had patches of mold.

Yes, I believe you may have to pay a bit more here for what you want. However, because the staff is very knowledgeable, you will be able to choose the right plant for your space. They help you with selection process if you are not sure about certain conditions (full sun/ partial shade etc), for your desired plant. Tony is very knowledgeable Rachel is very helpful. Overall very good experience.

You get what you pay for!Helpful and kind staff can answer almost any question and even give you ideas if you show them photos on your phone of what you have in mind.I've been here multiple times and every experience gets better with each visit.More than a few people have told me that the plant kingdom was expensive and overpriced and I could not disagree more!!They are knowledgeable people taking care of each plant and most of all of their selections are bigger and more beautiful than almost any nursery you will find in Louisville.SHOP LOCAL AND SUPPORT THE LITTLE GUYS!

This is one of my favorite places to purchase garden supplies. I enjoy the ambiance, the knowledgeable staff, and the variety of items available. I've always found someone to answer my questions about house plants or a particular plant I want to grow in my outdoor garden.The Plant Kingdom has a good selection of trees, vegetable garden plants, fruit trees, perennials, annuals, and some succulents. They also have a good variety of pottery for house plants or outdoor plants and some bonsai pots.Be sure to check out the sale shake for some good deals.

On two separate occasions I bought perennials at Plant Kingdom. The first time, the sales lady over charged me on a plant clearly marked at 5 dollars less than what she rang up on the register. I caught this one and brought it to the sales person's attention. she grumbled and reluctantly gave me the price that was marked on the tag. On the second occasion, I bought a perennial that was in the "end of season" clearance section. The plant was 75% off and was clearly marked that way. But the sales person only gave me 50% off. Unfortunately I did not catch this one because I bought a number of other perennials as well and I did not notice I was once again overcharged. Once is a fluke, twice is a pattern. So check your receipts before you leave the store... It appears that the prices listed on the plants aren't always what you pay for at the cash register. And it always seems to go in Plant Kingdoms favor.

The staff are super knowledgeable and they have a lot of beautiful plants and statues! They helped me pick out some pretty plants for my low light bedroom. I'll definitely go back when the weather gets warmer and they have even more plants!

I went here today looking for something specific and just wanting to check this place out since I'm new to the area. It's kind of like the tardis of plant places. It looks tiny from the outside. They manage to neatly fit a ton of healthy plants in there though! I couldn't afford their prices but it's definitely worth a stop.

Plants are in great condition, staff is very knowledgable , and they were very helpful. I really love the garden decor they sell as well! The only downside is that the plants are very expensive. I shop at a lot of nurseries and their coneflowers (for example) were $19.95. The same size and type of coneflowers were $7.99 almost everywhere else. $7.99 was actually the most expensive that I've seen them priced -so to see them at $19.95 was a bit of a shock. Other than the prices (on somethings, not all) I would definitely recommend this place!
