I’ve been going here since I moved to Louisville from Dallas. Each time they slowly became worse and worse. They never followed any of the directions I gave, even though it was written down.Today I dropped of my dog for a trim around the butt belly and paws, that’s it. And they handed me her like this. The woman who cut her said well that’s what you asked for. Which was NOT true the woman I spoke with in the morning wrote down exactly what I wanted. The woman who cut my dog didn’t even look at the card they write the directions on.Don’t go there unless you want your dog scalped. My dog is a reflection of me, as she travels with me as a service dog.The first photo is right before she was dropped off, then they scalped her. She’s cold and her skin now is irritated.

I don't know about this place. I tried to call to set up an appointment and they said they're having problems with their phone. Then they got angry with me because their phone is not working and said they couldn't hear me. Then they hung up on me. You obviously heard something when you responded to me. Why are you angry at me because your phone's not working? I didn't have angry words to say to you. I wasn't mad at you. Are you going to get angry with my dog? I'm not going to the Groom Room because I don't trust you. All it takes is one phone call to make a terrible impression.

Don't waste your time with this place! You schedule an appt at 9 for your dog and it will take 6 hours before you can pick them up, which is ridiculous especially for an 11lb dog and comes home not even smelling clean so I have to put my own spray on him! I will not be taking my dogs back there again!

Absolute nightmare. I dropped off my cairn terrier at 8:30 AM to the Groom Room. I asked for a tidy up and said he must not be shaved. I called the Groom Room around 1 PM, and he had been bathed but not cut yet. I called back around 3:30 PM and he was "just about to get on the table, would be done in about an hour." When I arrived at 5:20 PM -- 10 minutes until their closing time -- I could see he was still on the table being groomed. They called me at 5:30 PM to say he was ready to be picked up, and again, I could see from where I was parked that he was still on their table being finished up. I told them I was already there. He was not ready until 5:40 PM. I paid before I could really see him and wish I hadn't -- he had been almost entirely shaved, and where he was trimmed with scissors, was left hacked away unevenly. The two groomers Michelle and Chelsea said that they had never groomed a cairn terrier before, that they were "two dummies" trying to look "at the book" and at videos online, that they did their best, and hoped he looked okay. I almost started crying when I saw him. Dogs with double coats need to have their double coat to protect them from the sun and to help them properly heat themselves/cool off.I explained that he was NOT supposed to be shaved because of his double coat and they said that they don't think they groomed down far enough to damage it. They said they were told to trim him, and that the services they rendered were a "trim." I would have 100% much rather that they called to tell me earlier on in the day to say they couldn't groom him, or to ask questions about how I wanted him groomed, and instead I have a dog who spent all day inside a cage -- who was bursting at the seams to go to the bathroom when we got out -- who was hurriedly groomed by two people who were not sure how to take care of his breed.I am furious. When they asked me if he looked alright I could only say that it's not like they could take it back now, now that his hair had already been shaved off. I will NEVER go back to this place and hope that his coat grows back correctly, which may have been permanently ruined by their actions -- one shave of a double coated dog can be all it takes. Please go to a groomer that takes your dog out during the day, gives access to water, and doesn't just try to fake it until they make it.

My pups were "silky smooth" when I retrieved them today from The Groom Room. Great job shaving Annie's fur! Roxy is so soft!

My toy Australian Shepard hair is gone. They shaved him instead of grooming him. I specified not razor. His hair never has grown back. Before and after…. It’s been a year.

The groomers were fantastic...they were able to get Daisy in to have her nails and feet done right away and for a dog that doesn't like having anyone touch her feet she was wagging her tail and happy as could be by the time they finished, which surprised me how quick they were. Will certainly be back for more future visits and recommend The Groom Room for anyone looking for a Groomer for their own pup as well. Thanks again 😁

The most horrible service they have given my dog, they left him injured in his leg, I do not recommend it to anyone, very bad service and very slow! 😡

I can’t review their grooming services but I can say they are the best priced and fastest nail trimmers! I’ve tried it myself and it’s stressful for me and my girl, but they get it done quickly and can beat any price in Louisville. They are super friendly as well. Only pain is they’re cash only.

For years, we’ve brought our dogs in for nail trims only. Walk-ins, takes about 10-15 minutes. Last time we came in when they opened and were asked not to come in first thing because they have to check in the dogs scheduled for grooming that day. Fair. Today, we came in at 9am. Website says they open at 7:30. Two women standing at the desk. Place is quiet, no one else in the lobby waiting. Slight eye roll from one, who points to the desk and says “We’re trying to get everyone checked in. Yeah… if you could come back later….” Um, that’ll be a no. I know nail trims aren’t big revenue, but we pay in cash and always tip. They have lost this long time customer.

Susan has always does a fantastic job with Maggie Mae. I don't worry about leaving her with Susan, because I know she's gonna take good care of her, just like she's always done for years now.I don't just leave my dog with anyone, and Susan has always cut, handled, and cared for Maggie just like she was her own...and that definitely reduces my anxiety, especially if I know she's gonna be down there for 2 or 3 hrs.

I had my huskies groomed their about three weeks ago. After they had given me a price in the morning when I dropped them off before I left they later on texted me and tried to raise the price because they were difficult. I understood and I initially thought they had done a great job cleaning them up and tipped them an extra 40 because I know they were hard to do. But, they never trimmed their nails and they’ve gotten so long my older dog is in pain. I have had to make an appointment for somewhere else and I’m having to pay more to get their nails clipped. It should’ve been included in the 200 I paid!!!! Check your dogs to make sure they are trimming their nails before you take your pup home. I Will never go back!!!

my goldendoodle got a cute cut, but be specific as all the services they offer may be included but by request. staff is friendly and prices are fair. i did ask that my dogs head hair be left long, but her ears and mouth were long instead. quick snip at home fixed those couple areas. i will be back with a couple more specifics on her cut, but overall they did a good job.

I referred my friend to bring her beastie and they did an amazing job. Outstanding. She looks beautiful. She is a Shepard/husky mix and has very long hair. It was pretty matted they did what they could the first day and finished the second day. She looks like a new dog. I highly recommend them. We have been bringing our Noah here for years.

My experience with the ladies working the desk yesterday was positive. 1 stars for that. Connie's has been cutting my dog for years. A cut includes nails trimmed, according to the appointment desk. Three weeks ago I discovered 2 nails overgrown and curled on my dog, which the vet said obviously hadn't been trimmed in years. I felt neglectful and lied to by my groomer, but I maintained my appointment for grooming and didn't even tell them the story, deciding to check myself after every grooming that nails had actually been trimmed instead of trusting them. However, yesterday my Scottish Terrier had her skirt removed. Without consent. She looks stupid and it'll take a year or more to regain that growth. Had I wanted an all over single length "buzz cut", I would've done it myself and saved myself $53. No professional necessary. The traditional Scottie cut, being short on the back with a gradual fade into the skirt takes skill. That's what I pay for. I SHOULD have not been charged for what happened yesterday. Or I SHOULD have been offered our next cut pro-bono so they could prove their value. Nails not trimmed for years + lazy cut given with no regard to customer request and no desire to retain customer = finding a new groomer who is actually professional and invested in their business.

I had an appointment this morning which I took off work to accommodate. My mother recently died these were her dogs and they are in grave need of grooming. They called while I was on my way there to cancel. I understand things happen. But even after I explained that I took off work, and the dogs really needed help, no accommodations or anything was offered. Maybe they could have done one dog. Maybe I could come in early to drop off so I didn’t have to miss another day of work. Nothing. Again, I’m not unreasonable and I know people get sick and miss work, but it seems like in extenuating circumstances they could have offered SOME concession.

Been using this groomer for three years and even though I moved across town, I still come back! My dog always looks so cute and her fur is always so soft after a grooming here. They’re very nice too. The only downside to this groomer is that they’re cash/check only, which is kinda weird, but as long as you remember beforehand to stop at the ATM, you’re good to go.

Best groomers ever. My maltipoo, Lilly, looks like a perfect toy when she goes to the Groom Room. Take her every 3 weeks and Stephanie dolls her up with bows and a scarf. Everyone notices her and asks where I get her done. THANKS

My sister took her doggie there about 2 months ago. She had not been kenneled or around any other animals but at the groomers. Her 9 year old pup contracted kennel cough after being there. I’m sure her age is a contributing factor, but she has been very ill. Is there a way the owners could ensure the other pets are properly vaccinated, to include the vaccination for kennel cough? Are the pet areas being properly cleaned? It’s been 7 weeks and she’s still being treated. Services were good and staff has been friendly.

My dog Bear is a Great Pyrenees and is 1 and a half years old. His sister was there just a week ago and they did a great job on her. Bear is a bigger dog so knew it was going to take longer and be a bit more challenging but when I picked him up I was literally ready to cry. They called and said he a few spots underneath that would need to be shaved because it was too matted and I agreed to that. I picked him up and he was completely shave all over except his head and tail. They said he was too matted and it had to be done. I never agreed to that. His breeder even told us to NEVER get him shaved just a trim. We will never go back here and I just want to warn others to stay away.

I don't write reviews - it's just not my thing. I could be served a half-melted ice cream cone from Dairy Queen and I'd more than likely just go on with my day. With that being said...today we took our 5 month old Golden Doodle to get groomed at Connie's Groom Room. We will *absolutely* never come back to this place. We were told to drop her off at 9AM for her appointment and I was then told to come pick her back up at 3PM (Which at the time seemed like way too long for a dog to be groomed). I got a call at 2PM from them stating that they had JUST taken our dog out of the cage and that she was going to the bathroom everywhere and was very very nervous (incompetence makes me nervous too). No wonder she was going to the bathroom! She was locked in a cage for 6 hours scared out of her mind. Then, the woman told me that they weren't going to be able to groom her, bathe her or cut her hair because she was too scared and it was too busy and chaotic. We had an appointment at 9AM. She recommended we come back on Monday.....NO WAY! After hearing our dog was stuck in a cage all day long and then wasn't even tended to, given nothing to eat or drink, we will never be going back. The staff acted completely indifferent to the fact that our pup seemed traumatized and timid. There was no apology whatsoever. Do not take your pup here unless you want them to be in a cage all day long just waiting to get groomed (and even still, it may not even happen).

I am sad to write this review but i think it is important to share my experience. My family had taken our family dog to Connie’s Groom Room for many years. I have gotten my own dog in the past year, a mini goldendoodle. I took him to Connie’s just for convince since it is close to where I live and we already had a relationship with them. When i picked him up for the first time, he was completely un recognizable. They had completely shaven my dog and taken away all the features that made him look like himself. I had asked for them to just trim him, I knew he was a little matted but nothing that would warrant a total shave. They made me feel bad as a owner, saying that he was too matted to trim and they just had to shave him. I took him back earlier this month, hoping for a different outcome. I was really specific with the girl at pick up that i just wanted his hair trimmed and i did not want him shaved because it’s winter and i didn’t want him to be completely hairless in this weather. She acted like she understood. When i picked him up it was exactly the opposite of what i had asked. They completely shaved him and gave me no explanation why. I wish i would’ve received a call to let me know what to expect or give me the option to decide to wait. I would’ve rather let him be a little matted and warm than completely naked. He now shivers every time he has to go outside and doesn’t want to play as long as normal. I am going to take my business somewhere else. There is no reason why they couldn’t have respected my request and handled the situation in a better way.

Our miniature poodle came out looking like another breed. Her ears were chopped off and the top knot was very short. Must have been a different groomer from last trip. Very unhappy!!

Everyone that I have encountered at the Groom Room has been friendly and most importantly, they appear to love dogs! I love that they do not require an appointment to trim nails AND they charge a flat fee of only $5. That is quiet a difference from the VET we previously used! His fee was $18. Love the Groom Room!!!
