I booked Kingsley's as my wedding caterer. The food was incredible. I really loved that for their tasting you got to pick the items and take them home to try, my now husband and I ate off that for several days! Janet was very friendly, but I've heard from several guests that the staff at my wedding weren't the most helpful or friendly. I didn't have much contact with them so I can't say for sure!

Family owned butcher shop serving just about everything under the sun for over 50 years. Hot bar is a daily favorite for lunch breaks of everyone from doctors to construction workers. Highly recommend ordering your chicken and steaks from here at a minimum and fall in love with everything else each visit. It's the epicenter for Louisville Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners!

My husband and I got married this past Friday and had our reception catered by Kingsley’s. The food was even better than our tasting, and the staff was amazing. We highly recommend to anybody looking for a caterer! We especially appreciated their one-stop-shop attitude towards catering. It made wedding planning SO much easier.

I have bought Italian Sausage, Polish Sausage, Chorizo, Spicy Italian Sausage, New York Strip, and others... This place has top notch service, advice, and quality that is worth any extra penny you may pay versus other grocery stores or distributors. Their hot lunch is great and I don't even know about their catering service yet. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good butche or meat.

(Long review but worth the read because I still can’t brag enough on this place!!!)My mom has been bringing home plate lunch dinners from Kingsley’s for the past few months and the food is AMAZINGGGGGG. Best mashed potatoes you’ll ever find, I swear there is something magic about that recipe. For $13 you get a meat, two sides and a roll, and the portions are GENEROUS.Today was the first time I visited Kingsley’s in person. My car broke down this morning on my way to work, I had to call in on a day that I was supposed to finish planning a huge event coming up on Wednesday and really couldn’t afford to miss work, and had to get my car towed. I was having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad Monday. My mom had to drive me around the city to get some errands taken care of, and while we were out she wanted to grab some plate lunches from Kingsley’s since it was Meatloaf Monday. Kingsley’s meatloaf and mashed potatoes were the exact comfort food I needed to turn this day around. We get there and order our plate lunches with meatloaf, green beans, and mashed potatoes. The employee (white man maybe in his 30s? with short brown hair and a beard) looked at us apologetically and said “we only have roasted potatoes today ”I jokingly remarked, “it’s been such a rotten day, I needed those mashed potatoes!” The workers and EMTs standing in line all chuckled with us then the employee waiting on us said “wait a second, I think we actually have a tray of mashed potatoes in the warmer.” He goes to the back for a moment, we let the people in line behind us pass while we patiently await our beloved mashed potatoes. The employee strolls out heroically, aluminum tray in hands, and my mom and I gave him a nice hoot & holler.On top of him going out of his way to save the day with mashed potatoes - I have worked in a deli side by side a butcher department, and it’s difficult work when you have multiple customers approaching the counter and making requests of employees at the same time. The teamwork I witnessed from the employees at this store was efficient and exemplary.Great customer service experience, that food tastes so good because the people running Kingsley’s put love into absolutely everything they do there.P.S. if there ever comes a time that you all are truly out of mashed potatoes, I’ll give the roasted potatoes a try because I’m sure they are delicious too. 😉

Ordered bone-out leg of lamb for Christmas and grilled it out on a spit. It was absolutely spectacular. Kudos to Kingsley and the farmer who raised that lamb! Will never go anywhere else for a lamb roast. Thank you! Our guests loved it too!

I usually go here and and them to cut the meat like 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick so I can grill. They usually do cut it but not this time. The young man said he can not cut it. Very good meat to grill if they cut it.

We hired Kingsley’s for our wedding and it was great!!! The food was great we had so many people telling us amazing it all tasted! They were super awesome at communicating with us and answering any questions we may have had even if they seemed silly!! We only have two small issues with them one they left us with dirty chargers and they did not package the leftovers very well at all and they ended up leaking in my mother in laws car. Other than those two things they were AWESOME!!

My new favorite go-to spot for lunch!Portions: 5/5 (HUGE)Price: 5/5 (Affordable; $9-14 for lunch plates)Sides: 3/5 (Brocolli salad, fruit salad & loaded baked potato salad are bussing, delicious & flavorful)Meats: 7/5 (Don't even get me started! Plumped, juicy, smoky & cut for a caveman! Makes Arby looks like a joke- Do y'all really have the meats, Arby or did Kingsley offer y'all their trimmings?)I'm just teasing about Arby's haha. I actually love some of their meats like the turkey & brisket.

Got this for lunch. I must say it really hit the spot. Kingsley is kind of slept on for real. BIG portions with great tasting meat and sides. Pork chop was tender and had great smoked flavor. Great spot for lunch!

My mother-in-law ordered a Turkey to be picked up the Tuesday before thanksgiving, but forgot what size she ordered. I’m cooking the turkey and need to plan out timing, etc. so we called to ask what was ordered. An extremely rude woman answered the phone, questioned why my MIL did not remember what was ordered, questioned why it mattered and why we wanted to know the size, refused to look up the size, and told us we would find out what size it is after we pick it up on Tuesday. I empathize with them being busy, but even if they did not have time to look it up, being rude and disrespectful was a step too far and uncalled for.

Janet and the Kingsley team were great to work with! Easy going, flexible and very tenured/experienced with event catering. Janet also had familiarity with our event venue, Hazelnut Farm, which made it that much easier. We loved the variety of options. Service and food were great. Can’t beat the price for catering and bar package!

Love Kingsley's Meats!! I buy different meats from them, all the highest quality. We get femur bones and have them cut in two, lengthwise, as a treat for our German Shepherd Dog. My son had them prepare a roasted goose last Christmas, which was excellent.

First visit. Decided to get a lunch plate. I had chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a roll. Came home and reheated half of the meal. Very good. Will be eat the rest for dinner tonight. I will go back again. Kingsley also has a full selection of meats, deli, cheese, and other items

It seems every visit it just keeps going down hill. Called a day in advanced to see about having kabobs ready to go. The gentleman I spoke with said they have meat but no chicken, exactly what I was looking for. Stop in first thing Saturday morning to pick some out and I’m informed that they don’t sell kabobs. “We don’t even have vegetables to add to skewers” yet you have stuffed mushrooms for sale? Seems like employees aren’t on the same page and was a waste of a visit here.

I bought some meat from Kingsley after my dad told me about the quality. I’ve always hated the rubbery texture of chicken so I thought I would try the Amish boneless chicken breast. The chicken breasts were huge and I could have easily fed 4 people with two breasts. This chicken was hands down the best chicken I’ve EVER had, even at restaurants. To put it into words, this chicken was almost silky and it basically melts in your mouth. While we were there my husband and I got the pleasure of meeting Jeff, the owner, he is very kind and personable and you can really tell he loves this store. He even made a point to learn our names. Kingsley has just gained two loyal customers for our meat and poultry needs. Can’t wait to come back!

She was so kind and was always so willing to answer any questions I had about our wedding. Our guests were RAVING about the food and loved how quick the bar service was. Each person demonstrated professionalism, hospitality and quality from order taking, to delivery and set up. This place really is like nowhere else in the area. So many kinds of meat for sale, and a staff as large as your average automotive garage. It's the only place I've been able to buy fresh suet for human consumption. Meat orders can be placed days in advance.I've been going to then regularly for a while now, and fully intend to continue. Efficient, friendly, professional service, and a succulent aroma from the moment you walk in the store. Can't recommend them enough.
