Chewy for normal items is amazing. That being said, avoid the pharmacy at all costs. You have to mail (1990’s style) the prescription in. If they use a generic version of the medicine they will send it back to you for you to have the vet update with that name. Process takes WAY too long and is too much of a headache. Then they call 20 times to remind you to mail it. I had someone tell me exactly what they wanted on the prescription. I just got a call that that they have to send it back to me because they need the generic name on the prescription. He only has 4 pills left and now we have to go back through this process again. We had the same issue with his prescription food. Just skip.

Do yourself a favor and don't use the pharmacy at Chewy. The pricing is not worth the headache. Over a week ago I ordered a refill on a prescription and heard nothing back from anyone. Yesterday I called and they said they had received nothing back from my Vet and that my Vet was a "no call". I called my Vet and they said they had received nothing from Chewy and they speak to them regularly on the phone. Chewy then cancelled my order. My dog is about to run out of his medicine. The least they could do was notify me. I oddly received an email AFTER I called yesterday. Also they are constantly out of different medicines that are used regularly like Simperica Trio. It's not worth it, go to your vet or somewhere else.

I have attempted to use Chewy for a few months and the result was a near total failure. In fact, if you want to use them, welcome to your new part time job: managing your Chewy prescriptions. If you have one, maybe it won't be that bad. If you have several, it's a nightmare. First, you have to mail the prescriptions if your vet won't work with an online pharmacy (many won't, some won't even write an RX for you to use there), then you have to wait for them to enter it into the system. This can take weeks, unless they lose it which has happened more than once. Then you have to wait for them to ship, all the while you will still get a daily email asking you to mail the RX you've already mailed. When I contacted them about the delay, they told me they had the rx and it would ship immediately. I continued to get daily reminders from them to mail the rx they claimed to have.I finally got two things I ordered, after I had bought them from my vet. I called about another order today and was told the rx they claimed to have received (I even got an email from them saying they had it) they now cannot find. I will say the reps are nice, but this place is a disaster. Try ANYTHING else--see if your local pharmacy can get pet meds. You might pay a little more, but unlike at online pharmacies, your vet will work with them and even better, you'll receive your pet meds. Would give zero stars if I could. AVOID!!

I ordered Apoquel and it was to arrive 9/22/2022 and the package was MIA on 9/24.. I was told they were sending replacement.. by 9/26 I realized the package had not been mailed and the original package ended up in Oregon. After being lied to by numerous pharmacy techs .. I spoke to Asia on Saturday 9/29 after the package was now being redirected back to Chewy from a facility only about 10 minutes to my house! Chewy blamed FedEx but they blamed wrong address on Chewy. I am angry because on 9/24 Chewy could have mailed my replacement but instead lied that they had & I may just get two bottles by the 29th… finally, today 10/4, I received the replacement pills … will never order from them due to the LIES!

This company is poorly run. Customers should know that the reason their medicine/food isn't approved by their vet IS NOT because of the vet, but because of Chewy.com. The vet approves scripts right away, however chewy loses them somewhere down the line. So place the blame on chewy.com. I don't blame the employees that work for their company as they are always helpful, but the company itself is horrible.

I wish I could give Chewy 10 Stars! In October I switched to Chewy Pharmacy for my online pharmacy for my doberman’s monthly medication. Not only was the medication less expensive they gave me a introductory savings off my first purchase that was cost saving so I purchased 2 months supply. Sadly, my beloved Doberman was diagnosed with cancer in early December and passed very quickly. When the auto ship for her next box came up I called chewy and the customer service person was unbelievably nice and caring. She credited me the unused box of medication I already had even though I could of course not send it back.A few days later some beautiful flowers arrived at my home and they were from Chewy! A kind sympathy note was included and I just couldn’t believe it. I was so touched! Chewy has a forever customer!

Chewy is amazing! I love the pharmacy. Prices are much much lower than my Vet. I get my Rx from my Vet, send it to Chewy & this time I saved $28 difference from my Vets price. Customer service is the best. They are always looking for ways to help & even give free shipping with auto shipments. Check them out! On Rx u won't be disappointed!

If you need a recurring prescription for your pet, DON'T order it from Chewy. Since I started using Chewy in September only one time did Chewy's system get it "right". Most recently I received the reminder email that a comment was going to be processed and if I wished to change it I had a few days to do so. I went into the Chewy system and requested that the refill be delayed from 4/14 until May 1. Instead, the following day, I received an email saying that it had been shipped, on April 11! I called and was told that my order would be pulled and delayed. On the 14th the package was delivered and I'd not been informed that it was too late to pull it back (or the person to whom I spoke did nothing) . The customer service people are nice; the system is terrible. I'll work with 1800PetMeds from now on.

The pharmacy does not work as efficiently as the regular store. I've been waiting six days without my pets' medication. The vet has faxed the RX twice and Chewy says they don't have it. Vet says they've had this experience before with Chewy. Calling Chewy doesn't help. Going somewhere else for pet meds.

Even before COVID, I’ve had problems with Chewy losing the prescriptions multiple times. Most recently my vet faxed the prescription four times and Chewy could not find any of them any of the times I’ve called. A representative admitted they’re losing faxes. They were supposed to call my vet for verbal approval and then call me back immediately, but they never did. At this point it’s been three weeks since I initially placed the order and my vet first sent the prescription and nothing has been found. They shouldn’t be accepting this many orders if they can’t handle the volume as they’re literally putting dogs lives at stake. Now I have less time to find a way to get my dogs seizure medicine.

Chewy Pharmacy is definitely not yet ready for prime time! I recently placed an order for eye meds for our puppy, who suffers from glaucoma. After a LONG wait for the order and numerous (8+) emails and inquiries, I finally received my order over two weeks later. This wait was all the more aggravating, given the fact that I had preemptively provided very detailed instructions for faxing our vet, who was listed in their system, to approve the scripts. Each time I reached a Chewy representative and provided additional information, the person failed to pass along the info to the appropriate person - a complete disconnect and no coordination whatsoever. Very frustrating!!! If you have two weeks to wait, their prices on some of the products were good, but I don’t have time for the aggravation and uncertainty, especially when it comes to the health of my fur babies.

To date my experience with Chewy has been great, but their pharmacy service is horrible. They do not tell you that it will take weeks to fill your pet’s prescription. They still use snail mail to process the paperwork. Chewy needs to be more transparent in their online advertising.

Chewy Pharmacy filled my dog's prescription seizure medication with the INCORRECT medication. A pharmacist admitted that my dog was under dosed on her seizure medication for months because Chewy filled the medication with a different (i.e., incorrect) medication. The mistake could have been very detrimental to her health or even fatal.

We ordered a refill for allergy meds for our dog. Several days later we received an email stating that we needed to send in a paper prescription. The only problem, and that was on their part, was that we had refills remaining for 9 more months or 400 pills. After reviewing our account online (and something a first grader could have done as well), we informed the pharmacy that we had refills remaining. After wasting several more days of emails, we ran out of meds at home. Of course we tried OTC products but with very little success. Today(Saturday), one week after we placed the order, we were informed the order was being "prepared" and would be shipped on MONDAY and arrive TUESDAY or WEDNESDAY!! Waiting 10 or 11 days is unacceptable. We wouldn't like to think what would have occurred if this had been meds for a serious condition. Heed our warning: Be careful of what you order and use someone more organized, responsible, and reputable.

My dog is on Apoquel. Has been for several years. Switched to Chewy Pharmacy for his last script order and he's had nothing but break thru allergies since. We do not know for sure if it's related to the script order not coming from his Vet or if it's from less than the same quality of meds thru Chewy but he is a mess since. The pills he's taking have caused him to have major allergies since switching. If there is anyone else experiencing the same thing with scripts thru Chewy vs. Vet please reply so we can hear about it.

I order a prescription for my dog. The pharmacy is in Louisville. I called yesterday and was told it would be delivered that day.No meds--'called today and was told it would.be delivered today or tomorrow and when checking she said the package was in Lexington and was being delivered by fed ex.I live in louisville and the pharmacy is in louisville and it goes to from louisville to Lexington and back to me in Louisville.Does this make sense???? We have the UP S hub right here. Whatever Chewy has negotiated as their designated carrier doesn't work. Not using them again. Only wish I could voice my frustration to a management.

Chewy’s pricing for scripts used to be GREAT! Now they’ve jumped on the bandwagon with the rest of the big pharma thieves. It’s also VERY unorganized when you send in paper scripts. They never seem to have a record of them, and it takes days to have them locate them. It’s just not worth the time it takes to save a couple of dollars.

I cannot express enough how poorly this business operates. It took me over 1 month to refill a prescription and they were constantly blaming the pharmacy or their support staff etc. Use petsmeds.com Chewy is incompetent.

My dog takes Deramaxx 100 mg. I just received a refill for her script from Chewy, and the bottle was marked Deramaxx, but contains Rimadyl. Very, very dangerous mistake for my dog. Thank God I noticed that the pills looked different. Check your scripts!!

Chewy Pharmacy will not accept photographs of pet Rxs which is a stumbling point however when notified of importance of my particular med, Chewy Pharmacy really stepped up and expedited my order. Sincerest thanks~
