I have two cats and two dogs. Dr Smith and his staff have always been so awesome and caring. They are one of the best. I had to have one of our dogs put to sleep and I couldn't ask for any better. They have always helped us in all of our situations. The staff has been the best as well.

CVAH has cared for our dogs and cats for several years! Dr Smith and ALL his staff have always taken good care of our pets. After establishing Vet/pet relationships... you can text to office for refills of Rx's, concerns, questions etc., Dr Smith has always shown compassion for our animals and treated each one with respect...even in their final hours. Dr Smith will answer each of your concerns and recommend different treatment options suited to your wallet. At this time I don't think CVAH is taking new patients...but I do recommend their services.

The only place I will take my animals. Wonderful staff, wonderful care, and always kind. I've dealt with them for years and just this week Dr. Smith saved my temperamental Missy girl after swallowing part of a toy. She is exhausted, but healthy again, and home, where she belongs. Dr. Smith did not seem at all interested in getting to know me or my pet as new clients. He was running 40 minutes behind which is fine, but seemed to believe that my cat's unpleasant attitude was his constant state of being instead of temporary irritation after being cooped up in his carrier for 40 minutes.Dr. Smith told me that my cat had a tumor, that we could consider cancer treatment but that if I didn't proceed with some sort of intervention my cat would likely only live for 8 more weeks. He also said that my cat was very much in pain and was hiding his arthritis from us even though he is constantly jumping up and down off of our kitchen counters throughout the day. Dr. Smith never once asked if I noticed anything off or different about my cat, but felt perfectly confident giving me some of the worst news I could have imagined about an otherwise seemingly healthy animal.I decided to drive the 2 hours back to my original vet that my cat has seen for most of his life. My original vet couldn't believe what we had been told by Dr. Smith. He noted that for 16 my cat is in incredibly good health considering. We did opt to run some blood tests and found that our cat does have hyperthyroidism, which we can easily treat with a daily medication. However there are no signs of cancer and no signs of arthritis.Shame on Dr. Smith. Seek care for your animal elsewhere.

I am really happy that I found them, he saved my dog's life, not too expensive either. I wish I had taken my other dog there that had the same problem and was put to sleep. " by another animal clinic" I will always take my animals to Cumberland Valley.

Dr. Keaton Smith has been my vet for almost 20 years. He takes care of my service dog now. No one any more professional or respected!! He cares for his patients as much as the owners do. Wish I could rate him a 10 ⭐

I took my dog here after my original vet quoted me an astronomical price to remove an abscess. I came all the way from North Carolina because my dad lives in Corbin. The vet was very kind and thorough and also very quick to diagnose and come up with a surgical plan and let us know every detail. He listened to all of our concerns and took very good care of our furbaby. When she came out of surgery we were able to pick her up almost immediately and they even cut her nails while she was under at no charge. The staff was also very accommodating and friendly! I’d 100% recommend this vet to everyone and I only wish we lived closer.

They are awesome here when my fur baby was sick and not feeling good they got him in asap.. The DOC was fabulous he took great care of my baby and in a week's time he was back to his fur normal self.😁💙🐕🐾

They were amazing. I had to put my kitty down due to end stage kidney disease, and they did it with 2 injections (no IV necessary so she wasn't in more pain) and I got to hold her the whole time...Extremely compassionate and affordable. She was under 5 lbs so it was just under $50 total, and they gave me a really nice burial bag made for this purpose and instructed me to dig a minimum of 4' and sprinkle with lime. Only downside is they rarely answer the phone, but they do text messaging. You just have to be patient and text back if you don't get an answer.

Staff out front are more than willing to do all they can to help my pets. Very nice to me. I had to have our 21 yr. old baby put down. Dr. Smith asked if I wanted to come to the back and hold my kitty while she went to sleep! Such a kind gesture. I plan to keep taking our three cats and our Labradoodle to Dr. Smith and his well trained staff!! Thanks to each of you.

I’ve had the Dr clean my cats ears before. He did a great job, I called a few weeks ago about their ears again and was told to get the medicine to put on their neck.It didn’t work so I called to make an appt for their ears to be cleaned but Amanda or Mandy was beyond rude. Wasn’t aware I needed to get approval from the rude woman on the phone for my cats to be treated.My cats might not matter to her gatekeeping self but they matter to me.

Dr. Smith is a great vet and facility is nice and clean. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I have taken my dogs to other vets in the area but this place is the best of all. Dr. Smith quickly evaluated what my dogs needed at each visit and gave them excellent care. His prices are reasonable too.

Very unprofessional vet. I've had 2 dogs spayed and removed dew claws here. The first was no problem 3 years ago and everything went smoothly and it was a reasonable cost. My second dog had the same procedure (spay and remove dew claws from front paws) done in early August and I was hoping it would go the same way. Instead, the vet called me while my dog was under anesthesia trying to guilt me into not doing the dew claws for 30 minutes. He told me it was inhumane and cruel...like amputating a thumb. When I asked why I never got this same talk with my first dog he goes "well that was 3 years ago...I'm an old man I can't remember every dog I do." Well Dr. Smith, since you're such an old man and can't remember, I question if you should even still be practicing vet care on our animals? I questioned my decision on doing the dew claws, but am glad I did. Even though she came home barely bandaged and definitely hadn't been taken with the same care as my first dog. Will not be returning. Gave 2 stars because the laser spaying went very smoothly both times.

I brought my dog here at the recommendation of my friends as we were needing a new vet with our current one retiring. The staff are wonderful, helpful, and compassionate people. The vet was thorough and friendly. He was very helpful and verbal in telling me what he thought was wrong. Ares (my doggo) liked the vet, and wasn't anxious or uncomfortable with him.I was a walk-in, and first-time customer, but they didn't treat me any differently. I absolutely recommend this place, and will be utilizing their services.

Dr. Smith and his staff are outstanding. When we entered the reception area we were greeted by two wonderful ladies and were immediately taken to an exam room. They took all information over the phone and all we had to do was get our girl's weight before seeing Dr. Smith. Her regular vet was out of town and our backup vet who we have used for years and have paid them a small fortune in vet fees wouldn't work her in until two days later. Even though we were not clients Cumberland worked us in even when they were booked up for the day. Their compassion and love for animals is outstanding. They have a new client.

Very kind of them to provide my dog's monthly needed preventive medication without requiring an appointment. They did see the Rx box from his previous box. Unfortunately, Trifexis doesn't provide any protection from Ticks so he needed a different medication that does. Being new arrivals in town, I was Thankful for their customer service.
