Jan 11, 2024I would be very careful buying from this vendor. They sold me a HKM vest, did not say HKM battery was "not included" and instead a large bulky white one off amazon, heavy and not sleek. Totally not what I was expecting,....you expect what is advertised online which would have been the HKM battery to go with the HKM vest. The owner of the shop said that she didn't say the "HKM battery was included" so I shouldn't expect that battery. I think its very clear that you buy an HKM vest and you expect the battery that goes with it! She said I could return for credit of exchange but obviously I do not want anything from a store that is ok with false advertising and poor customer service. So have to open a dispute with AMEX since the vest was not as described. Overall very poor customer service, rude and not selling items as expected. I would not buy a single thing from this store, especially if you can't return it even if it wasn't described on their website accurately.

I’ve been coming here for years. I always find what I need. I’m surprised to read that people have had unpleasant experiences here. The staff has always helped me extensively with boots, helmets, really anything I’m looking for input on. They take their time and and are always very kind.

I recently placed an online order for three items. When the package arrived it only contained one of the items. I assumed the other items shipped separately and waited a day or two before calling the store to follow up. When I called, the woman I spoke with was courteous, apologetic, and promised a resolution. Since it was the weekend she informed me she would need to inform her boss, Abby, and would have her call me on Monday. When Abby called on Monday her objective was not to find a resolution. She came armed with "surveillance video" of an order being packed and snidely remarked that she would not provide a refund or replacement for this reason. I asked to see this video and she did email a video to me. It shows someone packing an order on 7/22... days before the order actually shipped out on 7/25 per tracking. After viewing the video I responded to her email saying that I am certain there were two items missing from my package. As far as her "video" is concerned, packing an order on 7/22 and sending it out on 7/25 leaves a large amount of time unaccounted for between packaging and when UPS took possession of the package. Furthermore, Abby has "advised" me to contact UPS to report a problem with my package. I reminded her in my email response that the shipper must contact the shipping company since their contract is with the shipper. She has never responded. This has been a very disappointing and time consuming experience. I have since filed a dispute with my credit card company and will be sharing this experience with barn friends, trainers, and across every platform I encounter. Abby is arrogant, rude and unprofessional. Like others have echoed, there are many other stores to do business with. I strongly encourage anyone reading this to save yourself the headache and avoid The Tack Shop of Lexington.

I've stopped in several tumes over the last few years, standard supplies are priced a little high so I usually just order from elsewhere in a big enough order for free shipping but in a pinch they have the common products, not overly friendly, I don't think I was ever greeted at entry, but was asked later if I needed any help, home and accessory type items are pretty/cute/nice/high quality, as a western rider that dabbles in hunt I didn't look through tack much and didn't end up buying anything, fair variety and range of items considering the space limitations

As a bit enthusiast I must say I'm always impressed by the huge array of bits readily available at this shop! 3 times now I have gone in looking for some obscure Bombers or Sprenger creation that usually has to be ordered in... and there they were- right on the wall! So great to have this resource in Lexington.

I just went into the store to ask for directions and the lady at the counter was very rude. Like i was bothering her for asking a simple question. How can someone have a business when they dont know how to communicate well with others. She needs to learn how to treate the general public before serving them.

We have been long-time patrons of Tack Shop of Lexington and needless to say, we will never be going back. My daughter is starting on her college equestrian team soon and needed to send along her sizes to her coach (the team provides their gear for free). She went to Tack Shop of Lexington to try on a few items for size. When the clerk discovered this, she curtly said, “Oh. We don’t do that here.” So my daughter, a regular customer, was turned away from trying a helmet on. When I called to complain, the owner of the tack shop reiterated that they didn’t let people try on equipment without purchase “for free.” Even when I explained the situation, she wouldn’t budge. Our family has spent thousands of dollars supporting Tack Shop of Lexington, and our faces are familiar in the store. This kind of customer service is absolutely unacceptable. Part of the appeal of a small, locally-owned tack shop is the trust and care between the business and the clientele. They have not demonstrated this kind of care with us, so we will be taking our business elsewhere.

Abby was great to point me in the right direction for a gift for my wife. As a horse lover I can't go wrong, but the right horse gift makes it better. the service was excellent and the product spot on! Thanks for the suggestion/help and great service!

The person in the store was extremely rude. I’m not sure how she sells merchandise. No hello when you walk in the door and it was like asking her to cut her arm off to try field boots on. Cute store but I’ll take my business elsewhere!!! No thanks Tack Shop!
