He was courteous, knowledgeable, thorough, and provided clear explanations of each finding and recommended remedy. The price estimate came in within what I anticipated, having done some research and having family in the construction trades. A very promising start to our engagement.3/29/2024 Our job is now done. The team was careful of our property with only one foundation planting suffering minor damage. Amazing, given the number of plants! The work was done well and the documentation of the work and testing of the water sealing was much appreciated. Dillon came out to do the final review and was very courteous, knowledgable, and personable. Each member of the team has been very respectful of our property and our time.

I was very impressed with the team that came out to install my new fireplace. They were very professional and courteous! They discovered a HAVC issue behind the old fireplace and brought it to my attention immediately. Most people would have just not said anything and went ahead and installed the new fireplace. I have used other chimney companies and Barnhill is by far the best I have every used.

My husband and I called Barnhill Chimney to come out and sweep the chimney and help us learn how to make a fire. Lol. When Henry arrived exactly on time, by the way, very impressive, he evaluated both fireplaces and helped us understand the construction of both. He formed us of what we had and what was needed in order to safely have fires in our fireplace. We need some work done on the outside as well as work done on the inside, but he was very detailed with pictures and explanations of everything that was needed and necessary to get our fireplace up to code When the work is done we will be able to enjoy the fireplace. Henry was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. I would highly recommend Barnhill Chimney for your chimney needs.

Barnhill was great from start to finish. Went over many different options in regards to the needs of my fireplace, crown, and chimney cap. They got here when they said they would and kept me updated throughout the process. You may find someone cheaper but you won’t find someone better than these guys at what they do. Justin came out to inspect our chimney and do a cleaning. Upon further review he informed me that the chimney was not up to code and that there was some exterior damage and water was leaking onto the interior( house is about 50 years old). He explained everything to me and came up with a game plan for two different approaches to get us up to code and working right. Really appreciate his attention to detail and how pleasant he was even though it was cold and rainy out. Will definitely be looking to use him to get our chimney up and running.

Henry is an excellent technician. We called Barnhill with a problem of smoke entering the house through the stove pipe. Henry came and identified the problem. The chimney was clogged with cresote and the smoke had no place else to go. He showed pictures of the problem and did a chimney sweep. He showed us how to properly build a fire and how to identify wood to be used in the stove. He made suggestions on how to store the wood to be used. He is friendly and personable but yet very professional. HE IS AN EXCELLENT TECHNICIAN .

Lucas was professional, informative, and thorough on his inspection of my chimneys. Once issues were identified a thorough estimate was prepared and I was able to pay in advance for the upcoming work. I'm very please with both Lucas and Barnhill Chimney.Update: Elliot installed ventless logs into both of my fireplaces and I absolutely love them. They are ultra-efficient, look amazing, and add functionality to my old damaged fireplaces. Barnhill also installed a beautiful chimney cap with a lifetime warranty, I couldn’t be more please with the quality of materials or professionalism by everyone at Barnhill.

Every time I stopped into their Gallery I was helped with every question I had regarding the products that they offer (took several visits to decide what I wanted & what would suit my needs). The initial Cleaning & Inspection was very beneficial in determining what steps I needed to take to safely install a secondary heat source for our recently purchased home. The inspector allowed me to view the flue in real time & also emailed a detailed description of all the photos he took. He made some suggestions of wood burning stove options & emailed a couple of different quotes. This gave me a good starting point to make a decision. He was very courteous also, making sure to protect my hearth, floors, furniture, etc. during the cleaning & inspection.After a few visits to the Gallery, I made an informative decision with all the details & specs offered with each product. Once the stove I chose was received from Vermont Castings, I was contacted to set up an appointment to do the install (very accommodating to my busy schedule). However, they were 1.5hrs later than initially scheduled, but I had planned the day for them to complete the job, so it wasn’t a hassle for me. They did call 30min. before to let me know they were on their way. The gentlemen that performed the installation were professional and also took great care to protect my floors, etc.The only issue I would have is that in the middle of the install, they had to go back to headquarters due to having a faulty pipe connection, adding roughly 2hrs to the install. But the fact that they didn’t install a faulty piece on my large purchase was reassuring that they care about their customers. They also suggested options of where to purchase hearth extensions for cheap since the hearth I have didn’t extend far enough past the front of the stove (safety reasons).Services: Chimney inspections, Chimney flue cleaning, Fireplace installations

In a world of way to many poor, shoddy, and unethical home repair businesses Barnhill Chimney is a shining star in my book. From my first contact with them, through the outstanding repair work, every employee I dealt with was very professional. Their communication and punctuality, throughout the job, was greatly appreciated. Highly recommended. (The preceding review I wrote in July, 2017) UPDATE May, 2018: Barnhill sent James out to address a concern that I had. As last year, I have had only positive experiences dealing with them. Great company! The first few pics are of a terrible builder job, the last couple are after Barnhill completed their professional job.
