A good shelter, it’s where I got my sweet baby Ollie from. They were very good at working with me and the process went great! Love them and if I’m ever able to get another pet I’ll be going back for sure!

Adopted a kitten they said had been sick with a cold but was ready to be taken home after a 4 day wait. 3 days later, called because kitten was very sick. Was told. "Sorry we can't help you but please keep us updated,' YEAH OKAY! Got kitten seen by veterinarian and after a $250 vet bill, our new boy is gonna be okay. Actually he was sicker than we thought. Had terrible ear infection and ear mites that were "supposedly treated". Another $150 vet bill but hes so worth it. The Veterinarian couldn't even find on his medical records from Humane Society what medications had been used to treat kittens condition, if he was even treated. I'm thankful we adopted from there though, otherwise kitten would most likely be dead. Such a sad story to post but sometimes honesty is a hard thing to hear. If you can't treat them, send to another facility. I'd honestly rather see them euthanized than in a tiny cage sick and suffering because of neglect.

I love this place. I don't know how many cats I have caught in live traps and knew that the Animal Shelter will always help... They are considerate and some really special people. I've donated some of my Riki's toys and blankets and it helps my grief for him. Thank u guys for loving these furbabies ❣️

I have adopted several kitties from there. They have a wonderful staff and take great care of all the animals in their care. They make sure all the animals get great loving homes.

The staff are friendly. They are always super helpful in finding the right pet to fit your family. You can tell they really love the animals and the work they do here. The kennels and pets are always clean and happy. We have had great experiences adopting from here, as the paperwork is simple. If you're looking for a new family addition, I highly suggest checking them out. You won't be disappointed.

Adopting from this shelter was a pleasant experience. They gave me plenty of time to spend looking and visiting with the animals. I never felt pressured to make a decision and was given plenty of details regarding each animal I showed interest in. The staff was friendly and facility was clean. I have made donations of needed items from time to time which were always appreciated and they followed up with a hand written thank you note mailed to me. Great place to visit if you are ready to adopt or just have some time to spend helping with a walk or play time with a resident!

Wonderful place and people! They do a wonderful job making sure these babies get taken care of, you can tell they care about them and their well-being! We’ve adopted 3 animals so far from them, the adoption process was super easy and quick! Definitely would recommend them to anyone who is looking to add a fur baby to their life!

Some of the nicest people with the cutest group of four legged babies! They are so caring and make sure every animal goes to the happiest and safest home. I found a dog running around in town and they came in after hours to scan and make sure the pup made it back home safely with it's owners. I'd recommend this shelter over any other one.

We are so thankful for the caring team that works there. They truly care for each animal and spend so much of their own energy to make sure they are taken care of and find good homes. The animals are all well taken care of, properly vetted and they are honest about their temperaments in helping them find the perfect forever home.It would be nice if they had a larger facility but they do so much for the animals with what they have and help in the community so much.

We adopted our dog from the Leitchfield Animal Shelter and had a wonderful experience. We interacted with 4 different staff members across our visits who were all pleasant and helpful. They were patient with us and helped us make a good choice for our family. The animals all seem well cared for and loved!

This is my favorite shelter out of several states I've lived! I love that they acclimate the dogs with each other (most have 2 to a kennel), the multiple, large open outdoor areas that are fenced in for the dogs to run and play, the library read to animal evenings, they make it easy for both adults AND kids to volunteer, community events, etc. There's just so much to love about this shelter!! I live almost an hour away but have been here several times. As hard as I tried to stay strong, we did end up adopting a puppy last October! (We're up to 3 and if we didn't move so much we'd have even more I'm sure!) Thank you everyone at LAS for doing the best you can for these wonderful animals. When they're in your care, they hardly realize they're temporarily down on their luck! ♡♡

I adopted my Topher from these amazing ladies two weeks ago. From start to finisgh it was an unbelievable experience. They were so friendly, so helpful, and you could see the passion and love they have for all the animals in their care. We adopted a beautiful little pittie mix from the shelter and the staff were wonderful. We also brought our 5 year old Pittie along in the process and got him microchipped. Super nice staff.

There was a lot of animals surrendered during a cold snap so I dropped off some used cleaning supplies and some dehydrated dog treats. I am not able to have pets. However, I loved being able to help out. A wonderful place.

I love this place it's where I meet my fur baby & best friend Seth. He has made a huge difference in my life and he is so funny he's always making me laugh. If it hadn't been for this shelter and the wonderful people that work there I'd still be a mess and extremely lonely. So Thanks.

Will not be back!!!!Refused to let u have a animal if your other animals (at home) wasn't spayed or neutered. and will only let u have one of If get the others done. That's none of there business bc they didn't come from there. And they can't make you do that. And cannot deny you one on those grounds alone. Considering both this and mine are females....They were rude and hateful. Needs to be under new management!!!!! They cannot tell you what to do with your other animals. And they have no right to. It's sad because I could have gave this dog a very loving home with a fenced-in yard over 2 acres. kids to play with. Vacation rides and all. So bc of of this I went bought a dog. Paid $500 for her. There so over packed down there no wonder.... There application wants your whole life story and some of them questions is none of there business and shouldn't be asked. Will go in future to a different pound. Very hateful women with gages and dreadlocks.
