Shawn and the staff at Petropolis provide excellent customer service and have always gone above and beyond. Their selection beats every other pet store in the surrounding area. They have harder to find brands including Exo Terra and some of the best quality feeders available locally. If you're looking to setup an aquarium, terrarium, or paludarium this is the place to go!

We bought a chameleon here and we absolutely love her. She’s healthy, friendly, and happy. The staff and owner were very knowledgeable and helpful. We came in for movies because we miss the “blockbuster experience” we had as kids with our families.... and left with a new pet.

Been here a few times now and am never disappointed when I leave. Both fresh water and salt, all tanks and fish look amazing and so does the coral. Coral is also fairly priced which is hard to come by unless shopping online or hobbyist to hobbyist. Staff are super nice and helpful as well. Pictures are 2 of the coral I got on this last trip

This is a great local fish store! The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. There is a great selection of pets and needed products. We picked up our clownfish this past week.

I love this store! I don’t feel sad walking in because I know it is a secure place for animals when I go for my bearded dragons crickets. I walk in and they know exactly what I’ll need because I come every week! Awesome friendly staffPS, this is 2 dozen crickets in 2 seperate bags

Shawn and his staff are fantastic and knowledgeable. I’ve been coming here on and off for years buying saltwater fish etc. Sometimes I just stop to take a look just to relieve stress and watch the animals. I love the atmosphere. Best in KY by far, I’ve been to them all. Everything is clean and well kept. All their animals are healthy and waiting for a home. If he don’t have what you’re looking for just ask. More than likely he can order it for you. Great prices and worth the drive. I’m about 45-60 minutes away. Keep up the fantastic work, I’ll see you soon I’m sure.

Such a random variety in this store! Fun to walk around. Good variety of fish, and they are willing to order any fish you'd like for your aquarium if they don't have them in stock. Could be more aquarium/ aquascaping items available like more driftwood and live plant options. Prices are pretty steep, but you won't find a lot of their fish elsewhere.

He was nice has great fish selection really good place the German blue rams are absolutely amazing I highly recommend this place update been trying to get fish from them for awhile but they are starting not to care for people who like to spend money when you ask them to deliver they can't or they don't have the things in stock

Great selection of movies. However I have never rented or bought a movie there. The pet selection is among the best in Kentucky. They maintain some of the nicest fish tanks and a varied selection of fresh and saltwater fish, as well as reptiles. Clean, healthy animals, and a helpful and knowledgeable staff keep me going back. We'll, that and a car.

You cant get better service than from these kind folks. Why pay to rent from a kiosk when it is cold and windy. Come into a heated bldg and get service for just a little more. It is often less expensive here if you rent for multiple days!

I am a long time hobbyist and I have been in a lot of pet stores. This store offers a very nice variety of healthy fish and plants. I was impressed with the uniqueness. The tanks are well maintained. The owner goes out of his way to help and will assist you in finding difficult to obtain items. I highly recommend this store. For me it's a 80 mile round trip and certainly well worth the drive!

I do not live locally. Went to this store on my way home from Lexington KY. Although couldn’t find the fish I was looking for, owner of the store generously gave me snail shells which I need for my Tanganyika shell dwellers, picking and rinsing them out. I would encourage anybody living within the 50 mile radius to check this store out. The fish there could surprise you- pleasantly of course. Good local fish stores like this should be generously supported. Besides, the book and media collection within the same store is ultra cool. Would definitely check back with them periodically.

I have been going the this LFS for at least 15+ years....i absolutely love this place. They are great at getting supplies you need and I've never lost a pet due to poor quality because they are great at what they do. The woman who i usually speak to there is always super helpful.

Easy to find location. Wonderful selection of freshwater and reef fish, plants and coral, and supplies. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Priced competitively. Had items other pet stores and especially big box petstores do not carry. Today I purchased dwarf neon rainbow fish and some cute cory cats. Wonderful meeting you Mary! Thank you for the conversation and your time and expertise! Will be back!Was there again this week and picked up some plants and equipment for a new tank. Again, Mary was wonderful. She was very busy with shipment and other customers, but acknowledged my arrival and apologized for the delay in service. I was in no rush. When I was my turn, she took ample time with me. Answering questions and full filing my order. Again, not disappointed! Will be back!

What more could you ask: movie rentals, pets and supplies, bait, snacks. This place is great. Super friendly staff and great selection of all products. My only complaint is that I have to travel from Frankfort to visit. It's really not that far so not really a complaint. Keep up the great work and customer service. It is great that there is still a movie rental store in the area.

Great place! We were able to get what we needed for our beardie. All the fish and tanks are amazingly clean and healthy looking. Definitely will be our new place for lizard supplies and fish watching!

Me and my family love this place. Great selection, and if there is something they dont have in stock they can quickly get it. The owner set me up with a great salt water aquarium, and everything I needed. Ran into several problems, and he personally helped me every step of the way. My personal favorite thing about this place is it's not a chain fish store, and the customer service is top notch. Thanks guys.

I don't go for the movies, I go for my aquarium needs. They have a nice variety of tropical fish and supplies. Their staff seem quite knowledgeable about their fish and could answer all of my concerns. They even have used startup tanks for those of us new to the hobby.

Bought at $29.99 shovel nose catfish, they said 7 day return policy. When I brought dead fish back they only said I could get 30% off a fish of that value. Return policy is not in writing anywhere just hear say. The cashier said come back when owner is here. It’s at 30 minute drive and I wasted my time thinking they would have a real return policy. I put fish in tank with others that cashier said would be compatible. I have had fish tanks since I was a kid and never had a problem with their care. Never again!

Had an experience when they got a shippment of sick bettas. I purchased two bettas. One of them passed due to dropsy within 3 days of purchase. They are giving me a replacement fish and have since treated their display. They have been very workable with me as im not in town. I appreciate the workability.
