We like to come here to shop in the grocery for local meat and dairy products. We love the fresh milk and cream.Lunch at the Pasture isn't what it used to be. There is a very limited menu now. Even though I am not a fan of their lunch selections, it honestly helps considering when they offered a full menu, it took a solid 15 minutes to get your food during the lunch rush.

I order from several farms and rotate different farms in and out. But I ALWAYS get a large case of beef from Marksbury farms. This is by far my favorite place to order beef. Every time I make a steak from Marksbury my husband raves about how good it was.

Their beef bones are advertised for bone broth. All I received was random freaking bones that has no purpose but to go to garbage or fed to dogs. When you advertise your beef bones for bone broth; expectation is marrow beef bones. Those are the only beef bones used for bone broth otherwise, why would anyone buy your garbage random beef unless they have a dog.2nd, I received the bones thawed completely and in somewhat cool temp, not really cold, instead of frozen. How do you sell food product with such poor shipping process?! First and last time to shop at your website.

This place is fantastic - their product is delicious, and what they are doing for the Kentucky farming community is so important. Everything they sell is pasture raised and grass fed within miles of the processing facility.

9 months ago I left a really positive review for this place, we have been coming here for years and always LOVED this place. Today we returned and I cannot stress how awful there new business model is . Everything I loved about this place has changed. You have 2 types of burger to choose from or the meal of the day .When you order a burger instead of getting a perfectly dressed and super yummy burger you get a burger and a bun in a paper plate and told to dress it yourself.Your side options are a fun sized bag of chips. They no longer offer all of there best foods . No lamb burger, no lemon drop salad, no pulled pork sandwich .Truly disappointed and dissatisfied that one of my families favorite places to go together , has been reduced to this .Posting their new “menu “ for reference .

Best Burger I've ever had! I hate burgers, but these burgers and tally hos burgers in Lexington are the only two I like. There shop has so much good stuff to choose from , there chocolate milk is something my husband and kids look forward to every time we go.The playground Is so fun for the kids, we love to meet our family there because its a good place to meet in the middle on the weekends to visit and let all the kids play.Thank you Marksbury for the quality food, family fun and service!

Was here last year with my parents. Great food and nice place. Took a friend that had not been here before. Told her how good it was. Walked in and everything was different. There was no variety of foods, the cooler with meats was gone. You have to order your meal on a computer. No fun people anymore. We walked out. Very disappointed

IS THIS TRUE??!!A recent New York Times piece has exposed Whole Foods for selling chicken processed by migrant children. The exposé found that a wholesale producer of meat called Marksbury Farm Foods LLC, employed minors on several occasions, often for long shifts doing hard labor.Whole Foods buys meat from Marksbury Farm Foods. If you’ve bought meat at a Whole Foods, there’s a chance it was processed by children.Whole Foods Market promotes itself with the slogan, "Be Happy, Healthy, and Whole," and declares on its website that "Our mission is to nourish people and the planet." Yet its customers may drive home with food which is the foul fruit of illegal child labor.Add

Found this little place as we were traveling thru the area. For a farm based restaurant I was amazed at the scope of this place. The menu is simple and the flavors are awesome. Well thought out and executed. I had a chorizo burger with the fried okra and their pickled vegetable medley. Every part of this was great. This place is worth driving out to. The garden and outdoor dining is beautiful, and they even sell plants for your garden. We enjoyed everything so much, we left with a cooler of food from their retail display cases to take home with us. Bring your foodie people and Get you some of this, yall.

In regards to Marksbury Processing only: I desperately want to love this company. I've been doing business there over three years now. We've taken in hogs and cattle a couple times a year. I love their concepts and ideas, and ethics but they aren't able to accommodate the smaller producers. They've messed up orders every single time I've taken something there. The whole business set up is black and white, unmoving, and lacks the flexibility that a small start up farm which truly epitomizes "local" requires. The customer service is beyond lacking. When you call in to schedule a processing date expect to wait, you may be limited on how many animals you can bring, and make sure you put everything on your calendar because you won't get a reminder other than cutting links emailed the day they need them. I received them once with less than two hours notice by the time they needed them submitted. Also if they have concerns about your processing requests, in my experience, they will only email you, unless they've really messed something up. Make sure you're on time to drop off or else they'll turn you away. Even when it's 8:07. I could handle issues on the production side if there was some flexibility or at least sympathy from the folks working the desk. I could handle poor customer service if they usually got our orders correct. In my opinion they need to completely re evaluate their process and keep producers better informed and create some kind of margin on our side for error. They need to email or call and confirm drop off dates and time options a week ahead and send cutting links a week before with the deadline. There are a million little things they could do to make their relationship and reputation among farmers a lot better. But it has become glaringly obvious that this company doesn't care about my business regardless of my numerous attempts to work with them and give them benefit of the doubt. For my fellow small farmers working off farm jobs please realize that as wonderful as this company is and how wonderful they could be, there is no room for your business here.

They have processed three pigs for me and where absolutely amazing. Their front office is very professional and organized. Their processing floor is very clean and definitely not a rinky-dink operation. The restaurant is also great and serves up some great sandwiches.

A weak attempt at a farm to table situation. The guy cutting up bacon behind the counter has picked his cell phone out of his pockets about 5 or 6 times. Grosss!!!!! Cell phones are nasty. People carry them everywhere and use them everywhere. It's just a nasty practice to allow cell phone use during food handling. They've only gone downhill from my original post. What was once a formative action happening by bring farm to fork into central Kentucky has turned into a mere sellout for investors and owners to maximize profits without regards to quality.

Had a couple steers processed two years ago, great. This year terrible! Totally changed the process. No ageing, can't choose our cuts, can't divide in halves, gave us the run-around with our processing date as well. Do not recommend anymore. Becoming to commercial!
