I believe when you respond to a review while trying to redeem yourself you should think twice. Telling a client that they don’t want to spend money on their pet is plain rude no matter what the case may be. So let’s talk about money and the fact you wanted $250 for X-rays let alone the $150 for the urine culture we were going to have done. We have no problem spending money on Junior, the fact that you were paid $192 and some change before other services we did not let you do should state that fact. Oh by the way Urine culture plus X-ray at another office are $220 that’s for both, unlike your prices which totaled $400 so if that was added to the $192 you get $592. The other vet’s office visit plus all the services YOU offered including what YOU were paid is still not $592 it’s $452. So go back to caring for the animals like you did and not the money you want to put in your pocket. P.S. Junior is doing fine and well

They took very good care of our 14 yr. old Lab mix when we had to put him down. We had him creamated and his ashes were sent back in a beautiful felt bag and wooden box.

This place is completely unprofessional. I would give zero stars if possible. My partner and I called to see if they could get my cat in for an emergency visit. They did tell us that the Dr was in a surgery until 10am that morning but after 10 we would be able to bring him in to be checked out. 10 comes around and we brought him in and they told us ā€œon the phoneā€ they said couldn’t take him in today, which as stated earlier in this post was not the case or else we would have not been there in that office wasting our time in a situation like this. The vet tech continued to yell at my girlfriend, in front of other customers, how we needed to research other vets ā€œlike she told us on the phoneā€ and shaming us in front of other customers for not getting the care we were ā€œtoldā€ to get for a cat, when the care that was told to us was to bring him in at 10! She was extremely rude and someone I would never want to take care of my pets, let alone anyone else’s. The cheaper prices are definitely a plus but the care and unprofessionalism is unacceptable. Stay far away.

Great place to take your pet. Dr sheehan is knowledgeable on current treatments and veterinary trends. The office staff is very helpful and friendly and can handle any question you may have. The office stays busy usually so the sooner you call them for your pets needs, the better.

My family been using this place for over 20 years , however since Dr Hey retired it’s turned into rude money making place . My cat had a broken hip , instead of sending him out right the way to the surgery , he was splinted out and been asked to come back for more X-rays and more splinting . Thanks god I took him to two another vets who told me that my cat will not be able to survive unless the surgery will take place immediately. Thank got I listen to those other vets and my cat is alive and functioning .The other thing made me to take all my animals out of LaGrange was/when I had a new dog , I was told that it’s necessary to bring a dog for boarding trial and bring a proof for all the dogs that they have had flea prevention medication or they will have to give them some in there . I am not sure how you can prove the flea medication administration- they told me bring a receipt when I purchased those - I got them at Costco in a spring. But after I stared asking questions, I been yelled at by the vet and called rude . I was not rude , I was trying to figure out what do I need to do , but instead was yelled and called names . We have we have a lot of pets ( over 20 ) that been using service of dr hey . But I we are very upset over the way we been treated there in last year . Taking everyone out . Not sure maybe , the fact that o do have an ascent payed a role in the I been treated . Vey disappointing because it never happened with the prior owner . Just a story to take in consideration so it will not happen to you

I have had nothing but good experiences here, both in regards to the care of my dog, and with the staff. Our dog has extreme separation anxiety (she is a rescue), and they have been nothing but patient with her, and with us! Dr. Sheehan has gone above and beyond for us, always explains everything to us, and listens to us. And the rest of the staff has never been anything but very pleasant and helpful. We had horrible experiences at Countryside Animal Hospital...Basically the vet there told us that there is no hope for our dog and her anxiety, and that we shouldn't bother trying...she will "never even be close to normal." He would not even consider helping her. We were so discouraged, and decided to try LaGrange Animal Hospital, and we are so glad we did. Thank you, guys!

My dog had an ear hematoma and I called end of day on Wednesday. We were able to drop him off the very next morning. Cost of treatment was VERY affordable, especially compared to online estimates for cost of procedure. We also got my dog updated on vaccinations and rabies, as well as a heart worm test. Couldn’t be happier with ease of service. Cost is very affordable. Will be back

We have used this vet for several years and recently stopped using them based on their front office staff. The lady who answers the phone is unbelievably rude. It's not worth how inexpensive the fees are to put up with this behavior. I would give them 0 stars but you have to click the star to be able to submit. I'm hoping this review will encourage the staff to be more friendly.

I can't thank Dr. Sheehan and the staff at LaGrange animal hospital. Our dog had eaten 2 cupcakes, wrappers included. He was vomiting, not eating, not pooping--potential obstruction. They took such wonderful care of him--from IV fluids, to medication/anethesia, radiology, and then when he was able to eat small amounts, they fed and watched him (and sent him home with some food to feed him over the next few days--until he is able to transition back to his normal food). Dr. Sheehan explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions. I was quite emotional, as I was extremely worried about our dog. He is now home and they have asked me to update them on specifics of his progress. We could not ask for better care, and the pricing was very reasonable considering everything they did for him (and put my mind at ease).

I have been to this clinic several times. I will say Dr. Sheehan is very nice, caring and professional. Dr. Heye on the other hand is downright rude, condescending and doesn’t seem to care about the pets at all. I will say his treatment worked great, but acted as if my dog was a nuisance and didn’t interact with her at all. He said my dog shouldn’t growl at me when it is in pain like he was insinuating she was a bad dog. He seemed mad because his tech was having a hard time holding her up on her back legs, because she was resisting. She has pain in her hip, so I’m sure it was hurting her. The staff is never very friendly, but maybe it is result of working with him. The prices are very reasonable here, but I’d rather pay more for my pets and I to be treated with respect

This is probably the worst vet around and the RUDEST staff I’ve have ever dealt with.My puppy that I had gotten that day, he was taken in by us from a pretty rough environment I might add. I call to make an appointment because he had worms and fleas and etc and I was drilled about not taking him to a vet before hand and I told the lady I just got him within the hour and she was still so rude. We took him there anyways (which I shouldn’t have done) and he was brought out to us without a word of how he did or what side effects could occur. They took the money and that was it. Hasn’t even called (after 5 months) to see why I hadn’t brought him back or to even simply check on him. Later that night he started to throw up non stop and we couldn’t pick him up or touch without him pretty much screaming in pain. He had a bad reaction to the shots and we weren’t prepared for that because we were even told about it. So we took him to Crestwood animal hospital and spent more money (which was never a problem) they gave him antibiotics and etc and was so welcoming and understanding. I’ll never go to Lagrange animal hospital ever again.Another thing that happened was my husbands family dog (11yr old male boxer) is having a lot of issues such as falling over and just in bad shape. He doesn’t have a normal vet because he’s a overall healthy dog and has never needed to go. He’s had all the shots and stuff he’s ever needed and VERY well taken care of. The lady proceeded to grill my husband (who is already upset) about not having one instead of getting more information and just listed all about how much is was going to cost like we couldn’t afford it because he doesn’t have a normal vet. That is most certainly not the case. But instead of asking she assumed. We’ll be going to crestwood animal hospital where I know that he will be well taken care of.The comment below is incorrect. It is this hospital, it was probably under my married name. And this is the hospital I just called.

Every experience I have had bringing my dog here has been an absolute breeze! Dr. John is WONDERFUL and very easy to work with.Every time I call or bring Nico in because I'm concerned about something, we get a follow up call the next day from Dr. John to make sure everything is still okay.I Highly recommend Lagrange Animal Hospital!

Until today I had been using the same vet clinic for as long as I've lived in Henry County which is about 27 years. I had heard such Great things about Lagrange Animal Hospital from several people. Friendly Service and knowledgeable staff is what I had for 2 years. Then they suddenly decided that since I took 2 of my dogs to the humane society to get fixed they will no longer sell me the Braveto flea and tick medication. When i questioned them they got very rude and then passed the phone to the vet who i thought would be more friendly she turned out to be even more rude. Tried to talk over me wouldn't allow me to get a word in and even implied i was a liar. HORRIBLE SERVICE HORRIBLE VET HORRIBLE PEOPLE PLEASE DON'T BRING YOUR PETS HERE.

Denied help for cat based on a poor review, which is exactly why I write this.In the past they refuse to help with getting a tick out because my indoor cat didn't have a vaccination. The reason I chose not to is because of a past experience where they gave my younger cat a vaccination and it died 3 days later. So I chose not to have this cat vaccinated because I don't want same result.. My cat got out the other night and got into some monkey grass so I called them..... They said if I drop my bad review they would help, these people don't care about the owners choice when it comes to vaccination, and if they don't like it they will tell you to go somewhere else. Or get rid of the bad review and they will help.... I see why these other people are so unhappy!Guess you leave a good review you'll get help but if you leave a bad review, sorry can't help ya!There were several instances where I could of left a bad review but I didn't.. It just compounded so here I am. I would NOT suggest this vet! The staff are rude . Make your own decision but I know I won't be going back! I'm sure anywhere I go will be better service and more professional. Sad!

Lagrange Animal Hospital has always had great, friendly, caring, knowledgeable staff.Over the years I've tried a few different places, but none have matched up to the Lagrange Animal Hospital staff.With that being said, I am giving them a well deserved five (5) stars.

I'm not one to write a negative review but my two experiences with LaGrange Animal hospital have been poor. I found the reception staff to be unfriendly on the phone and hesitant in setting up my initial appointment (as if it were an inconvenience). Now I attempted to make a second appointment to schedule a spaying and was told someone would call me back. That was three days ago. I called today to ask for the technician and had an unfriendly greeting from the receptionist. Then my call was dropped on their end. I called back and somehow they connected me to the vet who began discussing some other dog's condition. When I said I was not the owner of the dog, the phone went silent. Then I was disconnected again. It's time for me to find a reliable veterinary clinic.

Horrible. The employees here are extremely rude, unfriendly and have no time to talk to you and answer any questions. I mean, isn't this what VETS do!!!??? Good god. Just terrible professionalism. I run a business myself and I have never seen anyone treated the way I was. I simply called several times with some crucial questions about my newborn puppy just to make sure I was doing the right things. They have absolutely NO time to talk and the rudest person I dealt with was Dr. Lauren Sheehan. Unreal attitude issues with this one. Told me because I had so many questions, maybe I shouldn't be breeding dogs. Ha! Wow. Don't know who she thinks she is. I've said enough. Terrible service, terrible employees, terrible attitudes. I will NEVER recommend anyone to this facility or much less to even call them with a question. It's obvious they don't do questions or they are "too good" for that. Pitiful. I don't know how they've stayed in business this long with this kind of reputation. I will continue to always make sure I DONT take my pets here.

Friendly staff that seemed genuinely concerned about my little girl. She was very sick, had a very bad case as it turned out of UTI.They did a test, diagnosed UTI and prescribed antibiotics.When I picked up the antibiotics was told to call them to tell how she was doing. At the end of the week she was good as new and when I called to report the staff member who answered the phone seemed genuinely interested and happy that my pup was doing great.Their rates were a fair price and I'm happy with their service.

Dr. Heye & Dr. Sheehan have been our vets for over 11 yrs. recently one of our dogs, Pony has been extremely ill. They have been wonderful to him and us!!! They call to check on him daily!! Both doctors and staff take our calls, regardless of the amount of times we call a day. Reassure us and are there for us! We couldn’t ask for more. Thank you!!! We appreciate your kindness!! šŸ˜€

I have been taking my pets to La Grange Animal Hospital for several years. They are good vets and have reasonable prices. I am very pleased with their services. Dr Heye may not be the most flamboyant vet, but he is a good vet. He's just a matter of fact person and tells it like it is, which I prefer. If you are looking for glitz and glam, maybe you should shop somewhere else.

Dealing with a Right Sided dental abscess that our dog was diagnosed with at metropolitan veterinary hospital. The visit there was pricey but efficient and reassuring. I was told after that visit to follow up with private family vet. Given antibiotics and gabapentin. An X-ray was done. They said there was a fractured tooth on the left side and his right side, however his right side is more urgent of a matter because infection is going up into his eye. Showed up for 10:30 appointment at 10:15 with LaGrange Animal Hospital. Brought them a case of Krispy Creme donuts for their staff as a token of our appreciation. Sign on the door says ā€œDo Not Enterā€... probably due to COVID precautions. Older lady took the dog. I then told her I was going to go to the speedway and use their bathroom. She then told me I cannot leave the lot and asked me to wait in my vehicle. I told her I really have to pee. She said they do not allow anyone to come inside. So I walked to the car sales place next door. Luckily, they were more accommodating. Within 7 minutes of having bandit, they brought him back out. ( In 7 minutes they were able to do his blood work, a rabies vaccine, weight, full physical exam and a dental exam. ) The doctor called me to report her opinion on the tooth. She proceeded to talk about the tooth on the left side. I explained that the tooth I brought him in for was on the right side. She said she didn’t see any reason for concern on the other side. (THERE IS A MARBLE SIZED abscess under his eye!) She then said she would have them schedule a surgery for the left tooth extraction that is fractured and that she will assess the right side that I’m talking about while he is under anesthesia. It was a really bad experience. My boyfriend gets hot headed easily and it wasn’t a pleasant thing to bring to his attention. I anticipate that he will have a final word with the veterinarian. ************** Updated for a positive note. ************** The veterinarian saw the review and called us today. She spoke directly with my boyfriend. She apologized in regards to the bathroom scenario and that it would have been okay if I just had to use their bathroom. She also reinforced that she did not necessarily say there was no issue at all with the other side but that since bandit had antibiotics the abscess could be more controlled and the bump could be from simple scar tissue. She reassured the fact that she had every intention on assessing the tooth I was talking about. This visit was not a faulty diagnosis whatsoever. Bandit indeed has a problem with his left tooth. I was just lost at the fact that there was no mentioning for his right side which was the side I was concerned about. The veterinarian explained that no matter what we decide to do or where we decide to take him that she would ensure we have all of the blood work and labs from our visit today and she would fax them to whoever if needed. Corrected the bad review to a semi review for professionalism of Dr.Sheehan to call in regards to concern and explain the visit from another professional view. Thank you Dr.Sheehan for taking your time to speak with us regarding our concerns.

We’ve been taking our pets here for years! While Dr. Heye may come off as ā€œrudeā€ he really isn’t. We called up today with an issue with our dog (hot spot every year), he knew exactly who we were and put the meds in the mailbox for us to pick up (they were closed)! We will continue to take our animals here as long as they are open! So friendly all around. Thank you LaGrange Animal hospital!
