We are visiting from out of town on our fall break and found this place on google. We all love antiquing and were very excited to pay this place a visit. Everything seemed very quiet and nice when we got there. They had a a very cool, turned on and plugged in, ‘45 jukebox that had some very good music in it, so I selected it. It began to play, but there were no signs indicating it should not be used anywhere to be found. When I needed assistance turning it off, the younger guy said everything was fine, but the older gentleman screamed at me, saying “I should be sorry” for turning it on and “I shouldn’t touch anything” even though I am an adult, well aware of things that are fragile. After that, we spent about 15 more minutes in the store. Once we got in our car, about 11:15 am, (they are supposed to be open until 12:30), they proceed to lock up the store and get in their car as well. While we were putting in directions to our next destination, the older gentleman proceeded to walk over to our car and tell us that we should “go on and get out of here so they can close the gate”. The antiques were very interesting to look at, but not worth it for the price or the rude man.

Walked into this store with my husband and kids, as were out of towners and love antique stores. It was 10:45, he closes at 11. Tells me to hurry up because he’s ready to close and doesn’t like kids in his store. Wouldn’t give him a dime of mine! Rudest man I’ve ever came across in Jamestown, KY!!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

We tried 6 days to go to this antique store. The store hours are open everyday other than Wednesday 9-12:30 pm per website. We tried calling and noone picks up. This antique store is 9 miles out and so that was 2 tanks of wasted gas. They seriously need to update their website and out closed indefinitely!

We were going to purchase three items but put them back when the man behind the counter became rude over us putting a nickel in a pinball machine and we began to play it. We looked it over pretty good to make sure there was no sign that said "do not"play this machine that is plugged in.He informed me that everything does not have to have a sign especially something that expensive. I'm a little sad we spent a Nicole there but glad we didn't spend the seventy two.

I called this business just to find a grumpy old man. I had a simple question about the hours of operation during the holiday season. He told me that he does not do business on the phone, and then he hung up. I tried to call back a couple of times, but he refused to answer the phone. So we did not stop at his business.

My family has owned a cabin in the area for several decades. I've come since I was a little girl and am now able to bring my son. We've been here many many times and always enjoy watching the hummingbirds in the front of the store, while eating ice cream. The people there seem genuinely irritated or resentful by our presence, or maybe just their presence of having to be there, and are unapproachable. My father who is extremely friendly has tried to say hello and start conversations with the man there and he was not having it. Southern hospitality is something that definitely cannot be found here. Despite feeling completely unwelcome, we've always gone back because we enjoy looking through the store and getting ice cream and watching the hummingbirds.I am an extremely non-confrontational person. I wish I could say that I've had good experiences here, like others have. However, when I arrived to the area a day after my son and my parents I was told a story about what will be their last visit to this establishment! I am completely appalled and upset!Apparently they were looking at items out front for the 127 yard sale and were going inside to purchase items. The store has two sets of double doors to enter. My son had entered the second set of doors first with my mother close behind when the older gentleman began yelling and telling my 6 year-old son to get out. That he would not have any kids running around his store! When my mother explained that he wasn't doing anything wrong, and that she was with him, he told her that it was his God damn store and he could run it however he wanted. Then the younger gentleman behind the counter proceed to tell my mother to get out as well.I really try to be a fair person and I completely understand. EVERYONE HAS BAD DAYS and we're all just human. But I don't really care how your day is going, this was absolutely uncalled for. And no, I'm not one of those moms who believes my kid is an angel and they're really hell on wheels. I know my son is a vibrant young man, but I was taught manners and how to act. I've tried to teach him this and pass it along and he was with the woman who taught me how to have manners and behave in public! I truly believe that he was not being destructive or running around like a maniac!I feel like if you're going to own a store, then a priority should be customer service. This is not what we have experienced here.

The man working in this place is incredibly rude. The sign on the HWY says it's an antique store and ice cream parlor. We went in with the kids for a root beer float and when we asked the man behind the counter about it, he told us we got wrong info. If you want ice cream or a friendly face this is not the place to go. If you want old rusted out junk, this is your destination.

We found Roger (yes, he has a name) to be personable, friendly and helpful. He guided us to a historic landmark we wouldn't have found otherwise. This gentleman served his country and serves his community. Had your relative taken a moment to get to know him, he or she might have had a different experience. We spent a long time together and, despite opposing political views, became fast friends. We will visit again when we return to the area.Note: He has an incredible geode collection, one of which weighs in at a whopping 300 lbs!We had a great experience at Pioneer Collectibles. In our opinion it was well worth our time. Thanks to our new friend for welcoming us and making us feel at home.Oh, and the shop was well organized and had a clean restroom.Elaine and RamonaCastalian Springs, TN

The most awesome place. We have visited this store several times and the quality of his merchandise is awesome. He is a very interesting man to talk to and seems to know a lot of local history. We live near Ft. Knox, KY and he and my husband struck up a conversation and low and behold, they both knew the same gentleman from Ft. Knox. It certainly is a small world. If you’re in the area, well worth a stop.

Our little girl picked up one of the junk dolls he has and the old man workin there decided to scold her and my girlfriend about it. Said she needed to "be minded". He was rude from the moment we entered the store, until we left after his cry baby outburst. I know people leave reviews coming from an inability to self examine, however our little one was not acting up, acting hyper, or even being loud. She just picked up an old 2 dollar teddy bear and he reacted, to a 6 year old little girl, in a very nasty manner.

We loved this shop! Great ice cream too! Gotta defend the owner, too. We found him to be friendly. Guess some people reflect the attitude of the customers....or silly post by a competitor? Anyhow, you can toss that review.

DO NOT STOP AT THIS UNBELIEVABLY RUDE, BACKWOODS AND BACKWARDS PEOPLE. We've NEVER seen so much RACIST ITEMS..inside the store and outside the store.!We stopped as collectors and quickly realized the two men there Sunday Sept, 2017, definitely appear to have a Racist agenda! We were asked rudely ASKED TO LEAVE ..,because items weren't marked I was interested in. Therefore? I had to keep asking for prices. We had already had around $ 400.00 worth of items to buy!Unbelievably the most RUDE people to deal with customers! We had over $400.00 worth of merchandise ready to buy. There was an old box filled with old tim license plates I was looking through. The box had a slat missing in the old wood box which allowed several plates to fall through. TIN LICENSE PLATES! UNBREAKABLE RUSTY TIN PLATES!PLATES! The one older man jumped up and immediately said "That's It! Get Out!" He went as far as accusing os of being under the influence, called us rude names, etc...!!

Actually it's the experience of a family member who is too nice and too busy to post about such non sense .. Bur this is directly related to who ever the old man is our front of your business .. Maybe you need to find a new front person to welcome customers .. Hes either too old , too senile or a terrible business man .. take your pic .. even if he's the owner .. He shouldn't be there ! He doesn't merit one star .. I just gave you one star for being in business !Thanks !
