Wish I could give them zero stars. They treat everyone like criminals out to steal them blind. They will follow you around and peak around corners just watching every move you make. It gets really annoying and is literally the only store I’ve ever been to in my life like this. Their prices are not cheap and are overpriced most of the time. I honestly don’t know how they stay in business between the prices and the way they watch and spy on you while you’re just trying to shop around. It is ridiculous. I honestly hate seeing small business shutting down but I would gladly love to see this one close or at least get under different management and learn how to treat a paying customer without lurking around corners and spying on you. Side note: I have never been followed in any other store or business ever, this is the only store this has ever happened. I’ve also heard of many people who have stopped trying to shop here for the same reasons. They tell me they would rather drive to the boot store over in Ironton Ohio rather than dealing with this store.

The help was very prompt and friendly; but their prices are outrageous.....I bought my new shoes from a shoe store in Ashland Kentucky instead and saved money, even though I had to drive 30 extra miles.

I had bought a pair of Thorogood boots and had issues with the right boot being much smaller than the right. I returned them to James Family Outfitters even after being worn, they was beyond helpful. I will be buying all my boots from there and highly recommend going to James Family Outfitters just for the great customer service.

The guys in the back are very friendly and go out of their way to help you. Will continue to purchase my sons and husband's boots and clothes here. I would never shop for myself because the ladies in the front are not friendly and turn up their nose when you walk past. Just because someone does not look like they have money to spend does not make it so. They should take time and listen to the guys in the back, that is true customer service!

Stopped in one evening to see if they had any shoes/boots in my size (15) as they are hard to find. One lady was very friendly and helpful, the other made sure to announce that they were closing shortly, and harassed us out of the store. I had planned on making sure that me and my company were able to locally purchase work boots, but after this experience...I don't think so, I'll send my guys to Ashland.

This was my first time in the store and I was blown away with the huge selection of merchandise. A nice selection of UK clothing. Simply Southern long sleeve shirts w Christmas designs. Display upon display of footwear, shoes n boots for every family member. Including cowboy boots, Harley Davidson boots n jackets. The prices are reasonable for the brands. The staff is super friendly n eager to assist you. This store is big, so much merchandise to see that I will be back.

I live in Ohio. But have family in Grayson. Every time I come down for a visit, I have to stop in. On this trip I bought 4 pairs of shoes! Very friendly staff.

I have shopped here for nearly 20 years. I bought footwear for my 3 sons and daughter spending nearly 400 to 500 dollars a year outfitting them in country western boots. I was so disappointed when after 3 weeks the heel fell off my Son's boot and James wouldn't stand behind their product. The clerk said the heel was suppose to come off and they needed be taken to a shoe cobbler. The closest cobbler being Paintsville. (Seriously!!) Sorry to end a 20 year local shopping experience, but I won't be back in.

If you can find sales here they can actually be pretty good at times. Otherwise, it's a small shoe store, yet with a good selection of boots and some Western wear, shirts, belts, etc.

Took a pair of Justin’s back that were both ripped at same seam in boot. Don’t believe him when he says he guarantees or Justin guarantees. I wasted an hour on my day off to be talked down to no I won’t go back there.
