4 days ago I talked to the district manager and manager of this local in reference to them holding multiple ball pythons in 1 enclosure. I was assured something would be done about this,fast forward to today and nothing has changed. I asked the manager about it and he Said theyr waiting on approval to remove a snake from where it is not supposed to be,then his story changed to the vet says it will be okay,they have 2 crested geckos in an enclosure twice the size of the ball python enclosure underneath! Obviously nothing is going to be done....their animal care had really gone downhill recently amd they see no wrong in it! Not to mention it smells foul by their birds

I love their grooming service in Frankfort! The appointments are easily scheduled and they send reminders so you don’t forget that you have the appointment. Our pup knows why we are there when we walk through the doors and she does not hesitate at all. After we check in at the desk, she waits at the door to be let into the grooming area. That tells me that she enjoys the grooming and the people. She comes out happy and clean with well trimmed nails. Mickenzie is fantastic.

The prices and selection are fine. The staffing at Petco (I've noticed it at 3 different locations) is always terrible. I was going to get some fish, waited around and never saw anyone. When I got to the register, there were 6 people in line and no cashier. We waited several minutes for one to come off her smoke break.

THANK YOU LYNSEY @ THE FRANKFORT STORE!! Attempted to buy a wireless fence on-line to pick up in store. Sale was canceled by Petco and said item was out of stock in Frankfort store (this item was also on sale for a great price + there was a percentage off if buying on-line and picking up in store). I went to the Frankfort store to check for other containment systems and the item I tried to purchase was there but the associate said the sale price was to be for online purchase only. I showed her where we attempted to buy online and was told the item was out of stock. She said "if the item numbers match then I will give it to you for the online price". As expected, the numbers matched and I was able to purchase the item for the online sale price. I didn't get the online %discount but I understood that. Thank you Lynsey for making things right! That is the service that will keep customers coming back!

My wife and I visited this location to purchase a few fresh water fish for our aquarium. They had very little selection available, and what they did have seemed to be quarantined for disease control. However, they did have a few interesting bettas in individual containers that were not under quarantine .

I went last night with my fiance and kids to see about adopting a new family member. Once we decided on a kitten we asked about the adoption process to which the woman working told us to scan this QR code and submit an application to adopt. Okay easy enough we had gone through something similar adopting our older cat years prior somwhere else. So we fill out the application and submit it right there, and we ask the worker what our next step was. She said she didn’t know. I asked when we should hear back or receive an email back, she said she didn’t know. She also made no effort to try and help us figure out how THEIR adoption process worked and proceeded to clean the cage she had just cleaned 10 minutes prior to us attempting to adopt. She was also being pushy about me adopting two kittens instead of one which I thought was very odf considering she couldn’t even tell me the adoption process to be able to do so. Overall I’m very disappointed in the lack of training this woman had and the inattentiveness to customers trying to adopt or even get somebody else who worked there that knew how to help us. Once we realized she was just letting us stand around w our thumbs up our butts my kids started getting antsy so I just said lets just go home. Hopefully some changes can be made in making the workers more knowledgeable of their job.

I visited two days ago in search of a toy for my dog and to look for a potential fish tank for my daughter. There was an alarming number of dead fish floating around in the tanks, all of the ghost shrimp (about 10 or 12) were dead in the bottom of the tank, there was one white rat that appeared to have some sort of infection in its right eye, the birds cages had not been cleaned in what appeared to be quite a while, all of the cat cages were empty thank goodness, but had overflowing mounds of soiled litter left in them, several of the beta fish were dead and below that there was a topless plastic tub about the size of a shoe box with filthy water and some sort of mossy sludge floating in it. I mentioned the large number of dead fish to the cashier and she said that she had no idea and that she would check on it. She also mentioned that the ghost shrimp always die very quickly because their pH levels are never proper in their tank. That I should come in on shipment days if I want to have healthy fish or shrimp before they ever go into the Petco tanks because otherwise they end up sick or dying quickly. I've been to this Petco multiple times in the past and have never seen it like this. It was filthy and inhumane. At this point, I would just prefer to drive to Lexington or shop online for my pets or pet products.

The experience itself was not, however, this is the most disgusting Petco I have been in. Absolute filth. I only continued with my purchase because the treats were in a bag and appeared to be fresh. Though I did not want to touch anything else in the store.

Super awful. I can’t speak for cat/dog owners but every single aquarium was covered in filth, dead/decaying fish, dying plants and dead snails. Prices were average/high for aquarium and reptile supplies.I counted at least four dead betta fish in those torture cups. No female betta. Goldfish aquarium was completely covered in algae, there was no light and the fish were quite large… probably because nobody wants to buy from such a filthy tank. The geckos seemed sickly and pitiful. $300 ferrets. Cute, small red ear slider turtles without sufficient basking space.I would never recommend purchasing any fish or reptile from here.Definitely will never return.

Worst customer service experience I've had in a while! Arrived at 7:30 to purchase some fish. An employee walked past us twice while we were looking and did not return after 10 minutes of waiting. So I went to the front registers where two employees were leaning on the counter talking to each other. I asked if anyone works in the fish. The same employee that walked past us earlier, refused to help us. She said they don't get fish 10 minutes before closing. After explaining that we have been waiting for someone to help, she said sorry we are closing. Will not ever step foot in this business again!!!

I have no complaints. The staff are helpful and pleasant. I love that there are coupons and a rewards program to sign up for. We went to Puppy Playtime today (Free opportunity) and had a good time. They also run sales on items often. We got a Christmas sweater for our dog at 40% off in December. Cool place, lots of animal varieties and needs, nice environment. No complaints.

Waited at least 5 minutes for someone to come so I could pay. Had to find employee and ask. Maybe 2 other customers in store. I don't like to beg stores to take my money. Don't bother with the squeaky toy u r supposed to squeeze for assistance. They can't hear it or they ignore it.

They refused to sell us any fish because they didn’t think our tank was big enough, even though your fish are sitting in a cup of water that is definitely not getting changed. Won’t be coming back. Employee speaking to us was very rude and is obviously just trying to make us spend more money on a huge tank.

Lazy staff. I've had a few experiences that were unpleasant, clerk charging me more for supplies which meant I had to place a phone call and revisit to correct the problem..... and went back today for emergency supplies. Unfortunately, the same flighty, disreguarding staff as usual. I asked employee for help and 5 minutes later.....nothing.....asked the cashier for help as she is texting on her phone.....she said she would "get someone" I said, I already asked another employee to no avail. I will never go back here. Will pay high dollar fees for shipping from another company. WASTE OF TIME

They must be going broke. They are charging ten cents for plastic bags to put your purchased items in. You have ball pythons on aspen bedding, which is possibly the worst possible choice. If you would like to know why, ask me. You have bearded dragons that are too young to be sold, being fed improper diets, and that don't have proper lighting. You are a pet store not green new deal workers. Take better care of the poor animals you sell, and one might not care that you are also trying to be environmental warriors. It's hypocritical at best to see the animals improperly cared for while you show concern over plastic bags.
