Was looking for a good and economical accommodations and found this. This is in a very remote area so I was very skeptical in the beginning but after reaching there it is very clean and good. These are owned by State Park and available for a really good price.They do have a restaurant in the building and three rooms have an excellent view of the river. This is close to the dam and the airport as well.The lady at the front desk is very good and I would definitely go if I go around this area.

Went for New Years. The have a new years eve package for lodging , food and party for a teally reasonable price. A big group of us friends and family have been going for the last 3yrs. We have a wonderful time , and the rooms are nice and clean , the food is delicious and the party is a blast. We look forward to it from year to year. Giving it a big thumbs up and excellent rating !!!!!!

Loved the place and the location. I didn't read that there was no fridge, so I was a little disappointed. It was peaceful. Woke up to birds singing in the morning.Rooms: They are efficient and have a balcony.

I had to quickly find a room for the night when my water heater broke on me unexpectedly and had an important doctor appt the next morning. Unfortunately, there's not very many options near my house but thankfully it is the off season so vacancy was not an issue. I hadn't actually seen inside the rooms at the lodge since the late 80s and although I expected them to look different, I have to say I was thoroughly impressed! The private deck overlooking the marina and lake first thing in the morning was exactly what the doctor ordered! Even if it was the same view I had seen numerous times while my son was employed there. Check in was a breeze and Chelsea didn't hesitate to run over to our room and help me out with the TV while I experienced a "blonde moment". (Our cable box was unplugged. Lol) But my morning was complete when Brenda's smiling face was there at check out.

We are seniors, and new residents in the area, and we had the joy of having our family visit, all gathered at the lodge for several days, with rooms facing the lake.As a main point we can highlight the friendliness of the staff and the good food, with a staff at the dining that accommodates your needs, and offers filtered water. My personal suggestion is to add a little more fruits and healthy meals, like fresh fruits juices, to the menu, and some special diets to offer variety.But above all, the beauty of the natural environment. A very nice peace and cozy atmosphere.As main facilities they have a beautiful swimming pool with a special ramp for disabled people and a mini-golf course, among others.Being the area a bit isolated, don't expect the comforts of a big city, even though is very close to fulfilling those expectations only without the noise. But yes, attractive enough to spend some lovely days with excellent comfort and style, and have marvelous memories.And an exquisite and picturesque gift and craft shop, including some snacks.Place is ideal to go in groups and spend a day, or a weekend.note: just ask before opening the bathroom faucet, a bit tangled. Can't comment on TV, as we did not use it. And yes, a mini fridge will be very helpful. Especially if you have medicines that should be kept at a special temperature.

The cabin was clean but the decor very outdated. The kitchen extremely small, barely functional. The staff was very kind and helpful in every way. The food is affordable but nothing special. The pool is great and so is the mini golf. My main complaint is that the beach was closed but I wasn't told about it when I made the reservations. Nothing was noted on the website about the beach being closed.

Rough river dam is truly a hidden jewel 💎! The scenery is beautiful and it is a great area for jogging. Our overall stay was good. However, when we arrived our room smelled faintly of smoke and we found beer and cigarettes on the balcony. Of course, the friendly staff quickly relocated us and we were greeted by a clean, spacious room. Overall great experience!

If you want peace off the beaten path this place is a gem. Great for families, couples and retired people. The rooms are clean, nothing fancy but comfortable and close to the main lodge building as well as the pool. Super nice people as well.Nearby activities: Not much to do around here. You come here to enjoy the property.

This is such a nice State Park! This is probably the 5th time I have stayed here, each time for a large training or conference. The staff that cleaned our rooms were so nice and helpful. The food at the hotel restaurant was awesome! The staff that worked the restaurant were great! The ladies there were so helpful and nice. All and all a great place to stay!

Was there for a family reunion. We were told all our cabins would be in the same loop in close proximity. Neither of those turned out to be true. Cabins varied from old and difficult to access to newer with decent quality. They did put up a large tent for us that worked out well. Almost every cabin had a maintenance issue but nothing that stopped the show. Pool was nice, but the putt putt course was not being maintained. For a State Park RESORT they should have done better.

The room was cozy and CLEAN. The Saturday night buffet was good, maybe very good but Sunday morning buffet was average if not sub-par, sorry to say, especially when you consider the $15 per person price tag. Nice walk on the nature trail along the lake, although at this time of the year the lake level is way down. We'll be back, just not for Sunday morning buffet.

I fly into the park periodically to eat at the restaurant and/or camp out with my plane and pup. This last trip I introduced my youngest brother and his son to the park. We had an great lunch and fantastic visit with, Patti Owen, the Gift Shop Manager. She has really gone above and beyond with items in the shop. Dozens of reasonably priced, high quality hand made items from well known local and regional artists and craftsmen. Very well done. We have several more trips planned this year based on a very busy schedule of parks events.

My partner and I made a spontaneous decision to fly over to rough river and enjoy the beautiful weekend, when we arrived, we went to the front desk to see that a wedding was getting on way and a child’s birthday party was also in full swing, along with random other guests like us hoping to find accommodations! We were happy to get one of a few cottages left!! We were so pleased with the condition and accommodations of our cottage, the park was well kept snd just serene and beautiful and seemed to have so much for families to enjoy the beautiful outdoors,, the food in the dining room was delicious everything was clean and well kept!!! But for me the MOST IMPRESSIVE THING was the staff !!! They were all SO INCREDIBLY Polite and professional, BUT THEY SEEMED GENUINELY FRIENDLY AND KIND!! BRENDA at the front desk was so impressive, she handled all the Millay with ease and poised never seemed annoyed or frazzled by all the lost and disoriented guest and was just INCREDIBLY KIND AND EFFICIENT Again GENUINELY FRIENDLY!!! Such impression they made on me!! Thank you my weekend was beautiful!!!

This spot has been a long time family vacation tradition. Always great times boating on the lake. It's a shame several items are closed now indicating changing times: No more campground, golf, park beach, or driving range. The lake is nice but not as clear as Dale Hollow, Norris, or Laurel. You still don't feel like you just got out of a lake after swimming. The marina has been really upgraded and the same boat ramp is there. They did add several nice docks at the ramp which is great! Boat trailer parking is so much easier now as well with not having to worry about marina occupants' cars taking spots. Also good to see a new dock for boats below the lodge to boat in for a good dinner and then keep going for a nice sunset cruise.

Great place for the entire family, pet friendly too! The staff is remarkable!! Unmatchable hospitality!! The cottages are peaceful and a bicycle ride away from the pool. The daily crafts for the kiddos are awesome!!! I love that they also provide all the equipment for activities. The restaurant is delicious!! Friday music and drinks on the patio! 10 out of 10!!
