Very accommodating and try to make sure to give options when they can to make sure the horse is the right fit for the family looking. They also offer riding lessons with an outdoor arena and are very hands on and love teaching

I got a nice Appaloosa mare from here that was exactly what I was looking for.She was sold to me as broke, gentle, blind in one eye, bc she had an eye injury. But even that healed and she isn’t blind at all.I didn’t ride her for over a year, bc my mother in law/best friend got sick and passed, and I was just too depressed to do anything. I finally tacked her up after her sitting in the field for over a year, and she stood for saddling and walked right off like we had just ridden the day before. She’s really just a perfect little mare, and definitely worth more than I paid.Samantha & Megan have always been honest to me.

Our family is in a bit of a transition. As a child our family enjoyed horse back riding, together. Then there was high school sports, college, moving away, marriage + kids, divorce + kids, remarried + EVERYONE'S KIDS! So, we are returning to the simple pleasure that is horse back riding, caring for animals and enjoying farm life.In pursuit of gaining TRULY, DEAD BROKE horses who are easy to catch, easy to handle, throw a saddle on and "go", and beyond that - are SAFE SAFE for my entire family to be in the field with, without any concerns for our wellbeing-- those horses can be REALLY EXPENSIVE & therefore REALLY HARD TO FIND under $2000!!!I visited Riverside on three separate occasions. Each time I was greeted with kindness, every question I asked was answered honestly, and I felt as though there was NEVER any intention to be deceptive or misleading.This group does a REAL SERVICE for those of us who don't have 2k,3k,4k plus to drop on each horse in our barn.They sell horses for others on consignment AND they RESCUE horses from Kill-pens (horses headed to the slaughter-houses to be made into dog food, glue, etc).Riverside makes an effort to rehome these horses. They feed TOP LINE diet to their horses (SAFE Choice Senior... which they probablyhave to mortgage their home every month to pay for), and they interact with each horse to get a sense about each.I traveled all the way to the middle of Ohio to pick up a "7 year old miniture horse who had never been foundered"... infact - she was closer to 12 yrs, had been foundered and knowing this - I brought her home because she was SO KIND and would be guaranteed a loving home, for life! (Yes, I over paid.)I found two other truly DEAD BROKE , KIND, LOVING, THERAPY horses in East, central Ohio that were headed for auction but the owner made a last ditch effort to remove them privately- knowing that because they were so old -20's) they would not farewell at auction.I spent almost 2 years looking for my little crew ...When we decided to add another horse to our "herd" I came by Riverside. She represents her Rescue horses EXACTLY as they were --> Rescue horses, who were sent to auction after years of neglect, dropping their weight and not receiving appropriate maintenance care or veterinary care.** So, when Riverside brings them to their rescue to try to give these horses a 2nd chance, they are in rough shape. The kind of shape that takes months and months of care to improve. **As Riverside was downsizing this past month we picked up a ton of tack pieces we used to shore up our present riding gear, got helmets for the kids ($5 each!!)Additionally, Sam was patient with my family and I, allowing us to ride over the course of 2 days to determine exactly which horses would be best suited for each respective member of of our family. We brought home 2 WELL BROKE horses and 2 young, project horses.Sam and her crew took a lot of time with us as we made our decisions. We DID have our horses evaluated by a veterinarian before we purchased them and feel that it was a GOOD experience, all around.Yes, there were a number of animals present on the farm that were for sale. There were hound puppies one weekend and Golden Retriever puppies a separate visit. Every animal was clean and content.Very positive experience, on our end!For individuals looking to purchase an animal there are basically 2 ways to do it (like buying a car):1. Get with a private seller2. Get with a public sellerWe have made 3 separate purchases from "public sellers" - our experience with Sam was the BEST!That said, the buyer must understand that they have to be knowledgeable about what they are buying. Check the teeth, check the feet, walk them, ride them, listen to them, look at them, have your vet look at them. ... if something seems "off to you" then acknowledge it and walk away.That said, I really appreciate Sam, her time, and her knowledge! Between her knowledge & experience AND my knowledge, experience & due diligence- we are THRILLED with Riverside! 🐎 💗

Update - bought 2 horses from here now. First was a barrel mount, second the sweetest and best trail mount!We bought my daughters first horse here. They are quality horses. Everyone was wonderful. They gave us different options. My daughter was able to test ride all before purchasing. I cannot say enough good things about this place. They spent 2 hours with us. No rush. We will definitely recommend Riverside Equine!

I can’t say enough good things about Sam and Josh! They were a pleasure to deal with and could not of been more honest and upfront about the horse we purchased! He insisted that we all rode her, saddled her, and had kids ride her as well. She came healthy, strong and ready to ride! They earned our business, so much so I came back the following week to buy another!!! Thank you riverside! We love y’all!

I've been looking for the perfect horse for a very long time since my mom passed away in 2020. Finally I found Riverside Equine. A friend referred me to them. They said they had the perfect horse that meets all my needs. Especially with me having 4 children I wanted a horse I could trust with my kids. The first day I pulled up there I seen this horse. I told my husband that I hope that's him. He was next to another horse but something had me focused on him. When I met the owners. They was very nice and friendly. And I pointed and asked if that was him and she said yes. Me and my kids stood and petted him for a good while and he was so content. I asked if I could ride him and see how he feels. She didn't even hesitate and went and got a saddle and brindle. I rode him for a little while and then my kids rode him and lead him around. I bonded to Bora really quick and signed the adoption papers. I've been out there every single day since. Josh and Samantha have been very good to us. And they take care of my horse while I'm gone until I move him. The others day I noticed something was bothering my horse with one of his hoofs and I tied him and checked out his hoofs and cleaned them and Josh was nice enough to pull his shoes for me and do what ever I needed done for my horse. These people are amazing. I love what they Do. They are compassionate, patient and they let me come see my horse anytime I want while he's there. I highly recommend riverside equine to anyone that's looking. You won't regret it. I look forward to going there everyday. And so do my kids. My kids and their kids play together while I ride Bora. Thanks Riverside Equine. 😊 thank you Joshua and Samantha for all that you do! And thank you for allowing me and my family to come out and spend time with my horse. And thank you for taking care of Bora while I'm not there.

I highly recommend buying from Sam at Riverside equine. She advertises her horses as honestly as she can, with ages, levels of training, ect. I just recently bought a 6 yr old qh stud from her and she offered me my grulla mare back before offering her to the public. I can't wait to pick up those two here in two weeks. Rumor has it my mare is a two in one package and we should have a baby mule here sometime in late summer 😊😊😊 I'll definitely be buying from her again once she starts selling again 😊

I don’t recommend at all. The horses were perfect at their farm but once we got them home they reared and bucked kicked and bit. They was severely malnourished and one horse had an injury that they didn’t tell us about. When I messaged asking about why the horses would be acting up I never got an answer. I’m still waiting on a reply and it’s been almost 2 months. They have so many horses, probably 45-50, on probably not even 5 acres of land. Way too many horses with no grass and no feed. They’re all getting starved. I wouldn’t waste a single penny on these people. If you think that you can rescue the horses and give them a better life please do. But if you want a good healthy riding horse then don’t get it here. These people are just cruel horse traders. I wouldn’t even give one star if I could.

Bought a gelding that was supposedly a 15 year old just to turn out this horse is at least 20 maybe more. Also supposedly a finished barrel and pole horse. Being new to the horse buying business. I wasn’t aware of having a place to truly run a horse or not to tell sellers that you shouldn’t tell them that you are on your way (for reasons that I won’t mention). The horse that we bought was chill AF when we tried him in their little pin just to be wild AH when we got home. I contacted them over and over again just to get no response & now blocked from their FB pages. Was promised vaccination papers…still waiting! Reminds me of a place to go buy a bad used car. Now. I have been blocked from the FB page (asked a question about what we could do)…no response. I wouldn’t make the trip to see another. They seem like very good people until you pull out of the drive.

Would not hesitate to do business with this rescue. I have purchased two of the best dogs you could ask for ( who had their shots and worming done), three horses so far, and a horse trailer! I was able to make payments on my first horse over the course of a month, very flexible to work with. Traded a horse I had for the trailer and it was there waiting for me when I went to pick up the first horse we purchased. Last horse purchase I made I unfortunately had some troubles on my end financially right after purchase and she relisted him for me since we had agreed on pick up a week after purchase leaving him with them. Refunded me within days of finding him a new home. She will even purchase horses from you if needed and has from me once.

We have gotten 2 horses from Riverside. They are honest and upfront about each horse and seem to truly care about the horses. I felt like they were truthful with me and wanted a good home for the horse as well as a good fit for us. A lot of horse traders just want to get rid of the horses as quick as they can, but they seem to honestly care about the horses and owners. I highly recommend them.Edit*- just purchased my third horse from Riverside. Another quality horse that was fully represented. Thanks again for yet another beautiful and sweet horse for my family.

I have now gotten three horses and a calf from these amazing people. She has always been super honest about what she knows or doesn’t know about a horse. She will do her best to match you with an appropriate horse and spend time allowing you to visit her farm and allow time with the horses that you are interested in. She does work with kill pen rescues, so some of the horses out in the field are in bad shape. But those aren’t hers. Those are through the rescues. All in all, we will be watching for another calf from her and most likely get a fourth horse.

Horses & dogs in horrible condition. One of the most ran down places I have ever seen. They will lie about horses being broke, age, etc. Look them up on facebook, plenty of proof of it. NEEDS SHUT DOWN!!
