BEST VETERINARY HOSPITAL AND CLINIC IN LOUISVILLE!!! Let me just say, I never write reviews but I am compelled to scream from the rooftops how GREAT this vet office is after yet another visit and reminder of how they stand above the rest! I can't say enough about the care, compassion and empathy that Dr Robertson and her staff have shown me and my pets over the years. My furry friends have had several ailments that other "big vet clinics" in Louisville (you probably all know the ones I'm talking about) either misdiagnosed or flatly refused to treat. In stepped Dr Robertson and her team of incredibly talented doctors and staff. They kindly took the time to truly understand my concerns, appropriately diagnose the issue and walk through treatment options. Unlike other clinics that make you wait hours and then spend two minutes with you, spending the entire time with their head in a clipboard; the wonderful people at Bannon Woods take their time to explain everything and are so very kind to my pups while doing so. From my understanding it is a family run business but the amenities and state of the art medical devices/tools they have are second to none and compare to, if not surpass, any large city vet chain I've been to in the past. "Cutting edge care" tucked away in a country setting in Fairdale. I've since moved far away from the practice but will never go to another vet office. I now drive 40 minutes from Prospect to visit Bannon Woods. If you love your fur children, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Pictured is my pup Teddy after his latest check up.

I haven't experienced any negative results. Doctor Sarah is extremely nice and cares for her patients. I wouldn't take my dog or cat anywhere else. My animals are like my kids and I want the best for them. And here is where they will continue to go. I definitely love the staff here.

I love Bannon Woods! I take my pup here since he’s 12 weeks old. They’ve always been good to him. There’s been two occasions when he got sick and I called them and they asked me to bring him in right away without making me wait long hours like other clinics. Love this place and I’ll definitely keep bringing my pets here. :)

We can't say enough about Bannon Woods Veterinary Hospital! They've been there for us when we needed them most and kept things as affordable as possible while still ensuring the animal got the best care possible. Recently Dr. Dominique Comeau made a home visit for our nursing goat who we believed was suffering from mastitis. She was quick to confirm the diagnosis and explain it in more detail. She was also nice enough to quickly glance at the newborn goats while there to ensure they looked healthy. She was quick to come up with a plan for us to alleviate the issues as quickly as possible while doing so affordably. She was very thorough and detailed in explaining the care we needed to provide. She was very peraonable throughout her visit and made sure to call a few days later to ensure the treatment was helping. Not only was Dr. Comeau helpful and friendly, but their office staff always provides outstanding customer service!

I wasn't 100% thrilled with this place. Felt very Rushed and wasn't even able to address any concerns I had with my furbabies to the Vet. In fact, I NEVER even saw a Veterinarian, just an Aide that came and put us in one room and gathered my dogs off to another then returned them after everything was done. They even miss spelled my dog's name then acted like it was No Big Deal when I asked for the Paperwork to be corrected. His name is Poncho not Honcho. Sad part is they had a copy of his past records that Clearly has his Name printed on it and the correct spelling. Yes we were seen faster than we would have been at Shively Animal Clinic and Hospital, but I know at least there they would have taken the time to get my babies name right and talk to me about them.

I love Bannon Woods for my horses and we are lucky to have such amazing Vets so close to us. Dr. Loryn has seen my boys a few times recently and she is absolutely wonderful. Its very obvious she cares about her patients and their owners, enough to check back in on them when she doesn't have to, and probably has a million other things going on at the same time. 5 Stars for sure.

I will start out by saying the doctors and staff are very considerate and always treated me and my pets with kindness. I went there for many years with several dogs. However, two of my dogs were diagnosed with heart failure due to a cough. The first was put on heart medications and shortly after died of kidney failure. The vet I took him to retrieved his blood work from BW and said his kidneys were showing signs of failure when the bloodwork was done which was shortly after he was put on the medicine. I was never told this by the BW doctor. If I had, I would have stopped the medications. My second dog was put on the same medications and the same dosage, even though he was twice as big as the first. He took it for six years with blood work every six months. When he started showing signs of kidney failure, I ask for a referral to a cardiologist who did an echo which showed his heart was normal. She stated he would have never lived six years with a heart condition and the cough was environmental. Let me add that his cough got so bad at one point that BW even mentioned euthanasia. They put him on all kinds of medicines, including viagra. I kept him calm with the hydrocodone and gave him Benadryl on my own. He recovered after a few doses. Needless to say, I spent thousands of dollars at this place. I now go to Shively Animal Hospital. A no frills place, family owned and operated. Much less expensive and very good doctors. I miss Bannon Woods because it is closer and much more modernized. However, they are not specialist. If they diagnose your pet with a serious condition, such as heart disease, it’s best to ask for a referral to a specialist.

I love this place! They got my boxer in the same day for an appointment. All the staff were super nice, attentive and most importantly they listened to and addressed all my concerns. The Veterinarian Doctor was so kind and caring and thorough! She was also personable and made me feel comfortable with my baby being seen there! I’m so glad I found this vet and would absolutely recommend them!!!!

Bannon Woods is the BEST animal hospital in Louisville. They are knowledgeable, explain things in a way they customers can easily understand what is recommended, why, and the cost. I've never experienced so much one-on-one attention with a vet. They give better explanations than when I visit my personnal doctor. On top of that, they understand the financial needs of customers and are very affordable & flexible. It's rare to get such top notch service at a fair price. I would recommend to anyone who cares about their pet to go here first. They are the absolute best!

I've been to vets all over Louisville, and I am extremely impressed with Bannon Woods! Never a long wait. The most friendly and caring staff. Very professional, too! My dogs love them. And when our girl had a litter, they made us and them feel very special and in great hands! Thank you to everyone there! ☺️

Even with other vets closer to my house, I go out of my way to go to Bannon Woods. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Facilities are clean. I recommend them to anyone because I trust them with my pet.

Absolutely wonderful experience here, the waiting room had a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The vet staff were sociable and friendly, very easy to communicate with. We went here to get our kitten vaccinated and the doctor seeing her was a total joy, made us and out pet feel welcome. She was truly, and clearly passionate about her job. Will most definitely be returning again for future check-ups.

My first time at this vet center and I will say it was better than I expected. I brought my grandsons pet potbelly pig in for a check up with a hoof and tusk trim. The staff was great they were on task ever step of the way. The facility was modern and well equipped. I only wish it was closer to me. I will be back when the need arises.

This place is willing to let your fur baby go without their medication just to make sure they make a buck... they won't refill my animals prescription till they see him, but can't get him in for two weeks... he is out of his medication now and I was told to bad he can go without. Well you guys are the one who told me if he went without he could lose his eye... SAYS ALOT ABOUT YOUR FACILITY AND YOUR CARE FOR ITS PATIENTS

Facility was really clean, all works were good about their masks and very nice. The doctor was super nice and helpful as were the lady's at the front desk. They took great care of my animal and were quick to the step to help you and grt your animal in to be seen. I will strongly recommend this place.

Really nice set-up. Didn't make me wait. Met me in back area& got my horse inside out of heat quick. Very nice group of people. Answered any questions I had, not rushing me. Indoor stalls if I wanted to use. Grass area out back I was able to let my horse graze when finished& waiting for friend horse to finish up. Little pricey for teeth floating. Shots pretty average.

Dr. Smith was wonderful with my friend's choking horse. I stayed to help while my friend went to work and she was excellent! Very easy going, patient, and knowledgeable. She took her time to really do things right, but got routine stuff done quickly and efficiently. Not afraid to get horse gastric gunk in her mouth! 🤣

Took my golden retriever for a broken dew claw. Was told that the nail was cracked to the bone and had to be removed. A week later, nail still is oozing blood. I've called every single day for a week and have been told different answers, different treatments, or blamed for my dogs nail having issues despite me watching/crating/wrapping her paw. Was told to take her in today and when I did so, I, again, was told that it wasn't possible for me to keep an eye on her 24/7 and she must be licking the nail and causing it to bleed. I was then told that the nail is perfectly fine and healing as it should and oozing is okay, even though I was told by several others that wasn't acceptable. To top off the miscommunication and hateful comments about the care I provide my animal, I was charged a fee for a full exam that they didn't complete and Stephanie refused to take the charge off nor did she apologize for the several issues I've had. I will NOT be taking my three animals there EVER again.

Bannon Woods has fantastic doctors and service. They may be a little expensive, but thats due to their use of the most up-to-date procedures and equipment. They were able to grab a set of digital xrays from my senior dogs, without having to risk unnecessary anesthesia. They have no problem going over the details of blood work and discussing options. I highly recommend them.

Being from out of town and never having gone to this vet before I thought for sure I would have to wait a couple days for an appointment but I didn't. I told the lady who answered the phone my concerns with my dog and she got me in to see the doctor that afternoon. The doctor was exceptional with my dog and prescribed some medicine to be on the safe side. She also gave us options for some other concerns we had. Their office is kind of a drive off the main road but it was clean, spacious and nicely set up. Their fees were fair and the receptionist were very nice. I would highly recommend this vet for any of your animals.

The people at Bannon Woods are excellent at what they do, they're friendly and courteous, and they really care about you and your furbaby. When my cat passed away from kidney failure (there was nothing anyone could do), they were very respectful when they put her to sleep, and I got a card from them a couple days later from all of the vets and the techs. It was really sweet and helped me heal from the loss of my baby. Whenever I'm there for anything they always ask how I am and how my family is, including the cats. It's awesome because my cats aren't scared of the vet anymore!

Staff was very friendly and helpful, but the office seems to be very busy. Had to wait about 30 minutes to pick up my puppy after the scheduled time. However, I feel the staff was very caring towards my dog and the wait time reflects the demand of their services.

I feel like the were extremely expensive. With me being a new puppy owner they could have given me knowledge instead of taking more of my money by running unnecessary tests. My baby's ears was dirty, that was all. But my bill was extreme! Did not feel any compassion. I felt like the doctors were rushing during all of my visits. I will not be returning😞

We took our yorkie to them for the first time last week for annual checkup and shots. Lo and behold she had a double ear infection. We are so glad we took her when we did. Very happy with Dr. Kiser. You can tell they love all animals. This is our vet now!

I had 2 dogs in for PennHip evaluations. While they are priced higher than other vets in my area they did a great job. Other looked over my dogs and even noticed a sore on my girl and called me. We had already been minding it through my home vet, but what a relief to know that they were actually looking out for my pets! Both my dogs came out happy and fit to go. No nerves or anxiety other than my boy's normal. The staff was friendly to talk to. They are very busy there but well worth the drive and your time.

Very dissatisfied. They told me one thing on the phone when I made my appointment, and then changed it after I brought my dog in. Then when I checked out they gave me someone else's receipt. I don't like being lied to, so for this reason I won't be going back. I will also be letting all my friends in agility and obedience clubs know of this unpleasant experience.
