We usually love coming to Ruckles, however, tonight, we came in. my husband got the all you can eat catfish with greenbeans and a salad. I got the grilled chicken dinner. My chicken came out completely RAW and when I returned it, the waitress returned it again and it was still raw! She never checked with me to make sure it was ok or cooked correct again, just left. The waitress never apologized, charged us 60$ for our food, extra for the side of green beans my husband had, and didn't even try to make it right with us.Would love to try it again someday, but maybe no time soon :(

Poor food and poor service. Tried their breakfast buffet. It’s not a buffet for one and it was a disappointment. Went back later for dinner to give them another chance. No, poor food and service was very bad. I don’t understand the ratings with what we saw twice.

Service was fast & friendly. The pot roast was tender & the flavor was fantastic! Mashed potatoes & peas were good but the brown gravy wasn't so great. Beans & cornbread were excellent. The pulled pork sandwich was really dry. Portions are big & we were to full to have desserts. Can't wait to try the pie though. Prices are definitely fair. You will get your money's worth here.

Service and food was excellent. I had the double angus burger which was amazing! Wife had the prime rib, which was good despite a third of it being fat. Will definitely go back!

My favorite local place. Great food, super atmosphere and you can't beat the staff. Just family. It's been awhile since I had the breakfast buffet, it is still delicious.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps to porch to sit awhile and restaurant is accessible.

I hadn't been to this place in a few years but thought I would give it a try again. What was listed on the menu as country fried cod was in actuality frozen Gordon's fish filets. While I did enjoy the slaw that came with the meal the rest was mediocre at best.

I REALLY wanted to love this place. I really did. We live about 45 minutes south of the restaurant and it took us three years to finally get there. We showed up at lunchtime on a cold but sunny Saturday. When we came in we saw that the dining room to the right was closed so we headed left. A friendly young lady told us to seat ourselves. There was a small crowded dining room with only one open table, a small two-top. But we could see a larger room though an open doorway with several open booths, though as we stepped through the doorway we noticed smell of cigarette smoke and then saw the ashtrays. Having both had the good sense to quit smoking decades ago and we turned around and decided to sit at the little two-top. The waitress was quickly at our table, told us the specials and took our drink orders. We ordered coffee. She said she'd put on a fresh pot for us. When she returned with the coffee we ordered, I ordered the 10 oz. ribeye special, medium, and my wife ordered a cheeseburger with seasoned fries and coleslaw.We both noticed that the dining room was cold, cold enough that my wife opted to leave her coat on, and that there was no escaping the smell of cigarette smoke. At one point looking into the open doorway to the kitchen we saw one of the staff standing in there smoking a cigarette, so it's possible that was the source of the cigarette smell.Shortly after we ordered, the waitress brought my salad (iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese) and my wife's coleslaw. The salad was fine and my wife's coleslaw was creamy and delicious. A few minutes later our entrees arrived. My wife said her cheeseburger was delicious as were her fries. My steak, however, was a bit of a disappointment. It was less than a half inch thick and it hung over the too small (10") plate, and it was just not a good looking piece of meat. There was a great deal of fat. Not marbling, fat. The baked potato was fine, and the texas toast was okay. Because of the low temp in the dining room the steak and potato were cold before I finished. I probably had to cut away 1/4 of the weight of the steak because of it being blubbery fat. It was really a disappointment, and in all fairness I should have sent it back and ordered something else, but between the cold and the smoke we just wanted to move on.We do plan to return, but we'll come when it's warmer and busy enough to warrant opening the other dining room which is on the opposite side of the building from the smoking section and the kitchen. And next time I'll have the burger. My wife really thought it was good. The service was excellent and overall it seemed like the kind of place that Cracker Barrel is pretending to be. Maybe next time we'll have the experience we were looking for. I REALLY want to love this place.

Great home cooking with an incredible menu. Bathroom is clean. No Alcohol. Christian Revivals are commonly held at the pay-lake next door. They have regular specialties on fish. Clean. Nice environment. Woke/pride friendly. Price is right with above average friendly people.

bean and cornbread are not what I grew up on but maybe for someone else they are. but the rest of what we had was delicious. all prices are more than fair. and if you visit, don't forget to tip. I used to be a server, it's not an easy job.Vegetarian options: soup beans and pinto beans and salad are veggie options that I know of. I'm sure they have more.Parking: I didn't see a wheelchair ramp, but I wasn't looking right. so doesn't mean it's not thereKid-friendliness: they are a family dining. so they have a good kid menu and sitting for kids

the only complaint i had was there was nothing to complain about... this wonderful fantastic great staffed eatery was more than i expected and better than i had hoped for we were installing cameras in a nearby store and had the sunday breakfast bar all homemade and all delicious food and dont forget to try the homemade pies. The cabins looked amazing and were and the fishing was fun and relaxing.

We arrived one hour before closing-not my norm, but it happened. The waitress was clearly not happy. She definitely did not have a poker face. We waited about 10 minutes before she came to our table. There was no one else in the dining area. Food came out as ordered. It was great as always. The other employees were super friendly. Maybe our waitress was just having a bad day?? Still recommend this place for good homestyle food.

First time in a long time visiting ruckels: pretty disappointed. We waited for 40 minutes for our food but had to ask where it was. Our waitress finally brought it out and said she was waiting on the grilled onions. Never once refilled our drinks or anything. We will not be back. Her name tag said BOB.**not confused at all, the young lady had a handwritten name tag on her apron. And note people actually sat down and never got waited on so they left. Just disappointed we have been going to Ruckels for years, this was our first not so great experience. When my husband went up front to ask about our food an older waitress had even made a comment to two of the young ladies just sitting on there phones they should help wait on people.

Let me tell you, it was all-you-can-eat catfish night and I was not ready for the amount of food I received! My stomach did not have room! The food is SOOOOOOOOO good! The food came out very fast and hot! And we took some for other people who didn't go with us and with all we ordered together (5 people total) was a reasonable price! Kinsley, our waitress was outstanding! She took great care of my family and I! And the bathroom was so decorative and creative. Yes, I reviewed the bathroom, check it out! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! Not only great food, but they're friendly and has a warm ambiance!

The breakfast bar was ok. The food tasted right but nothing was hot. Even the meats which are brought out from the kitchen were room temperature. The server was friendly and kept drinks filled, she asked several times if we needed anything so no complaints there.The banana pudding was good.

Visited Ruckels with my family. We waited over 40 minutes for our food. Our waitress never came to ask for refills and we had to ask another waitress for our food to be brought out. When brought out, things were not warm and we weren’t checked on throughout our meal. Another waitress refilled our drinks. Our first waitress that came out to bring our check, after going back to the front to ask for it, walked out with a paper name tag taped to her apron with “BOB” written on it. This just seemed very playful rather than a waitress worrying about her customers.
