Location: 4/5: Right across the center of town in Elkton KY. Really cannot miss the place if you take a lap or two around the center of town round-about.Ambiance: 4/5: The old soda shop is fun and busy. Lots of "back in time" decor and vibe.Value for $$: 3/5: I understand prices are rising everywhere these days...but it just seems like these prices jumped way up while the quality and quantity regressed.Cuisine: 3/5: Cannot not go wrong with the pretzel bites and beer cheese! Onion rings and cheese sticks were just okay. My son loved his French fries, but he said his burger was just okay...kinda dry and kinda tasteless. Whoever made my BLT needs to be...I don't know but that was the sorriest BLT I have had in a long time. The coleslaw was left unfinished.Services: 2/5: The real reason why I am posting this review is because of the service. I completely understand having a bad day. I completely understand being off your game for an evening. However, when you see your server chumming it up with people she knows and ignoring her other tables, that makes for a good reason not to return to a joint. I spoke with the couples seated at the tables behind and across from us, both tables agreed that service was very, very lacking.Hygiene: 3.5/5: Everything was just okay. Tables, chairs, plates, cups, and utensils were clean. Bathroom was clean enough.Recommend: At one time, we would have strongly recommend L&R and we would have gladly returned. Today, maybe, maybe not.Parking: All depends on when you go whether parking is plentiful or not. Go on a bad night, and you will be walking.

Absolutely amazing place. A huge bright spot in this little town. We just moved here and we wandered in to check it out. It's my new favorite spot for a lunch or dinner with my husband. The service was amazing and the Ruben sandwich I had was the bomb.Thank you for making us feel at home!

Absolutely loved going back in time! This restaurant was an absolute GEM!Our food and waitress were fantastic!!We started with the fried pickles as an appetizer, then the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with Sweet potato fries and homemade Carmel, and a Cheese Burger Wrap.Finished it if with the traditional Banana Split-DELICIOUSSo worth the 20 minute drive from Clarksville, will definitely be back.

I love going to this place with clients, the food is always great, people are so friendly but this last visit they were sooo busy. They were short staffed and I felt awful for the little waiter that was running herself to death. They need some more help and could add on a whole other room if they wanted to because they def have the business ❤️ keep up the great work

This has a place I've been wanting to come out of the way for since 2017. Went with my significant other to this establishment. To best describe it, this place did not disappoint. The food was delicious. The dessert was excellent, and the staff was spot on in customer service. The staff holds themselves accountable and takes responsibility for any inconvenience that could potentially be caused. We recommend this establishment for not only a quality eatery, but for dates and get togethers as well!

We loved the throw back to a previous time in American history - the soda shop. The music is 40's, 50's and 60's, the atmosphere is fantastic and the food is wonderful. We will definitely make that trip back to tiny town of Elkton, KY, many more times.

The soda bar is a neat nostalgic place to visit. Especially if you can remember the times when going to the soda bar was really the thing. The food was okay and the service and the staff were very nice. It is located at the town square which makes popping in and out of a few little shops and more of an outing. It is diffidently worth trying at least once.

Some of the food was bland but some of it was really good (hamburgers were unseasoned, no salt on the sweet potato fries but thats an easy fix, regular fries were excellent, fried pickles were a little bland(my husband really liked them though), sauces were good, drinks were good too, the chicken sandwich was excellent, potato salad was too sweet for my liking.) I enjoyed the scenery of the restaurant and customer service was friendly... overall it was a good experience. Good hole in the wall place and a great place to sit and eat with friends. The atmosphere is good and so is the customer service. Food is decently priced.

Amazing food, lots of options, no issues accommodating anything with your meal, seating or anything. So far, have not had any issues with orders being incorrect or missing anything. Our little girls (5&6yrs) absolutely LOVE it. Not just for the amazing desert.Parking: Depending on the time of day, you may have to park few buildings down and walk.

I’m writing this based on not the food, but a charge we got. Monday (March 25, 2024) my parents ordered by phone for a to go order, it was expensive, but they did order a bit, but that isn’t the issue. My step-dad went to get the order and payed with a card, all that. Today, the Wednesday after, my mother looks at the receipt…they charged a 8 dollar tip! They never asked for it (it was for a to go order, you don’t usually tip for that on planet earth) and it wasn’t added to the order beforehand, it was added after the total was made (basically they added it on after the fact). Now I get we are living in hard times and I’d they asked, we’d be annoyed, but I’m sure my stepdad would gave them a tip. But to STEAL from someone is wrong, this isn’t an order in and it wasn’t even asked for. And 8 dollars for what? Holding our order at the store? We live less than 5 minutes away, they could have brung it to us if they wanted a tip that badly. My family for the most part liked the food, that isn’t an issue, but they charged a tip without asking and for a to go order. I URGE ANYONE GETTING A TO-GO ORDER TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOUE NOT BEING CHARGED FOR A TIP (OR EVEN IN THE RESTAURANT, NO RESTAURANT SHOULD STEAL MONEY BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY ARE OWED A TIP, THATS NOT HOW LIFE WORKS).

Ordered a taco salad. Was no resemblance of a taco salad. Was so spicy could not even eat. So had to order another meal. While my party got to eat there food. Not everyone can handle spice. Should come with a warning. Waitresses in the whole none of them were coming around and checking on there guests. Isn’t that how you make your tips. So had a higher bill than expected. Would if I didn’t have the money to cover it. Did not get the impression that I would ever want to eat there again. We thought never been there try it. Marked that restaurant to visit again.

A True Gem in Elkton, Kentucky on the square. The Food, Service and Delicious Milkshakes were So Good. Thank You Tracey and Elizabeth For Excellent Food & Excellent Service. We are definitely coming back Again soon. About an hour drive from Nashville. Fun day trip with a group of friends.

If you are looking for a great Kentucky restaurant then this is it. Probably the best place around for dessert and the food was good as well.Not your typical chain restaurant, this is where you need to eat if it's your first time in this little town. Drove over an hour to check it out.

Only thing great about this place was our waitress. She was super nice and very knowledgeable about the menu. It took 45 minutes to get our food cause the kitchen wanted to do a large groups order before ours (according to our waitress). My friend got her sandwich and fries first and they were ice cold. I got my chicken tenders 5 minutes later. They were warm but they were more like chicken nuggets then tenders. I understand food costs have risin, but shesh. And I was given some corn that i did not order... just because maybe they had to much. It was terrible and bland. Should have just left it off. I asked for a to go box right away cause we had to get back to work, at this point we were late. The cook/ owner/ someone came out while I was boxing up my food and tried to be funny. "Too much food huh" maybe if the tenders didn't look like they came from the toddlers menu I would have thought it was funny.
