Took my guy to Sam Russell's for the first time today and could not be happier. They were so sweet and welcoming. I am not a fan of the typical shih-tzu haircut so asked them to keep him a little fluffy. He looks SO cute and smells so good. Definitely making this my pup's forever groomer.

Boarded our dog here twice. Very easy for drop off and pick up. The facility looks very clean and well taken care of. I love that they do assessments before putting dogs in daycare and they separate by size. My dog has been very happy coming back and loves doing just daycare here too. Would recommend to anyone. Price is very reasonable for how well run and clean this place is.

Very helpful and friendly staff. They all love animals and treat everyone respectfully. I've just started the process required to be able to use their doggy daycare, swim groups, and boarding. They also have a great store inside filled with a ton of accessories and provisions.Edit: One of my dogs has been a customer there for nearly a year now. They're wonderful with him. They truly care about the animals. He loves going and understands "Daycare" to the point of excitement. I'm grateful for such a wonderful place for my four-legged child.

Well… I was in town to spend time with my daughter and grandkids who came up from TX for a baseball tournament. I’m from Wisconsin.I was looking for someplace to drop my ol’ girl off for some fun. In WI our dogs don’t get the canine influenza immunization so she couldn’t go in.However, it looks to be an amazing spot. The store looks like a place I could roam around in. The ladies at reception were very friendly. The grounds are immaculate and, from the staff parking lot it looks like they have plenty of staff to watch over the pets that come to stay and/or play.The only reason I gave 4 star review is because we couldn’t experience the facility, but rules are rules, and I appreciate that they look out for the welfare of our furry babies.We were in town for a week and she had to stay in the car (running with the ac on) ☹️most of the days, except for when we were in the hotel or visiting the family at their B&B, which she also could not go into.

We searched for a while before finding Sam Russell’s to kennel our dogs. We wanted a place that felt like home and cared for our dogs like we do. I wanted them to have a vacation away from home when we have to be away. Recently, we kenneled our dogs for Spring break and Sam’s does it right. Our dachshund is 2 and our pug is 4 and neither have been kenneled before and we have a senior chihuahua that is deaf and has partial vision loss. Our dogs played with other dogs and were treated well by the staff. We picked them up without any shedding or weight loss and they were happy. They slept for the first two days after coming home and on our return to work they followed us to the back door wanting to go for a ride-two of them hate riding in the car. I think they thought they would go back to Sams. This is one happy, very satisfied customer. We will be back!!!! Thank you so much for caring for our babies like their your own!!!!

Sam's is the best boarding,swimming and day care that I have used for my Vizsla this year. My Vizsla, Spirit is one year old and just loves Sam's. She plays, swims loves the help. Comes home happy but doggy tired. That is just what she needs.Thanks SamsWendy Horwath

It's definitely a high end doggie retreat. The store/office has all kinds of specialized dog/cat products in a rustic setting. Very healthy treats, pet food and cute local clothing, leashes, etc. They also have their own aquatic area. Looking forward to Harley attending next week while we are away.

I've always enjoyed the staff and the facility here. Two different dogs over the past 6 years I believe and they both enjoy themselves. I feel my dogs are in very good hands here. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for daycare.

Sam Russel’s is by far THE BEST place we have ever boarded our elderly dachshunds. Our kids love reading their report cards and finding out what they did during their stay. Very friendly and helpful staff who truly care. The store is also amazing! There’s no other place we would take our dogs in this area! Thanks so much for taking care of our dogs.

i called today to try locking in a appointment to get my dog groomed. I brought my moms dog here last year and they did a extremely good job. They weren’t able to book me today because of the breed (labradoodle) i would just suggest if someone could put a list online of breeds you can’t service to avoid trying to call/ but if you need a groomer i definitely recommend

Wow. I wish I could leave a 1 million star review. I’ll try to keep this as short as possible, even though I could go on and on about how much I love this place.I received a gift card for Christmas to take my dog to get groomed at Sam Russel’s. I waited to use it because I was hesitant to take my dog (only because he can be a handful at times and gets nervous easily). My dog’s name is Bruiser and he is a 10 month old yorkie. I finally made an appointment and I just picked him up about an hour ago and I had to make this review as soon as possible. I wish I had taken a before and after photo because the difference is astounding. His groomer’s name was Bailey. Bailey is phenomenal in every way. I didn’t have any requests other than his potty areas being trimmed up, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I came back to get him. I was blown away. I am so so grateful for Bailey and how handsome she made Bruiser look today. It gave me so much joy to see him with his little hair cut and I even cried a little. Worth every penny. I cannot thank this amazing facility and staff enough!! I will be back!

I researched this place in case I needed to use a place to care for my dog while out of town and I would definitely recommend them even though I ended up not needing them at this time. My husband has done work at the establishment and he said that the animals are well taken care of (when no owners are around). That speaks volumes to me.

Great place! Took our dog for obedience training and were very happy with the results! This is a very clean location with pet friendly folks and tons of programs and things to do for your dog! Well trained folks in a very comforting atmosphere! We would definitely return here for anything our dogs needed! I simply cannot say enough good things about Sam Russell's!!! Close by and EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL!!! Doggie day care or care provided while away or on vacation!!! VERY NICE PLACE for you and your Dog!!!

We left our puppy there for 10 days when we went on vacation. The gentleman we checked in with was very thorough in looking through the paperwork and making sure he understood what her needs were and what her feedings were like. Even prior to us taking our pup, they made sure to call us and remind us of any shots she needed to have and what paperwork needed to be brought in. We left feeling very confident that she would be in good hands. Upon pickup, she was happy, healthy, and we even got a little note telling us about her stay and how she did while there. Overall, boarding our puppy here was a great experience and we would definitely do it again if needed.

Honey Bear & I love everything about Sam Russel's and absolutely feel blessed to have found it!! While visiting family & shopping in my hometown of Elizabethtown we came upon the adorable business and simply had to check it out. The beautiful curb appeal is nothing compared to the gourmet quality of goods & services at shockingly low affordable prices. The shop & staff were so impressive that I've since relocated in order to work full-time with their daycare & boarding dogs/cats. I can now personally attest to the standard of care & quality of experience had by all our fur babies. I highly recommend all KY, IN, & TN cat and/or dog families within 100 miles, or anyone just passing through the Heartland, to check it out. I feel proud to call Hardin County home, to be blessed with such amazing home-grown businesses dedicated to service & community is truly a gift from above.

I drive all the way from Fort Knox to take my girl here. I mostly use their daycare service but have boarded and groomed with them as well. I am always greeted with enthusiasm and kindness. They were patient with me the first few times I’ve dropped her off as I was always nervous how she would act. I enjoy that she is out practically the whole day and not in a kennel often, the attention to detail that goes into placing her in the appropriate groups is appreciated. I have yet to see her on any FB posts but that’s not a deal breaker for me as we aren’t there too often.I wanted a place that would communicate with me if there was any trouble with my pup. I’ve used most other companies in the area before deciding to keep taking her here based off of the lack of communication. The last 2.5 years we’ve been here, I really have no complaints. My girl is deaf and has had incidents in the past at daycare places due to the lack of caution for that disability, not here. If she isn’t having a good day, I’m contacted. If an incident occurred, I’m contacted. She is always a happy girl leaving and excited when I drop her off, a 180 to her attitude prior to taking her here. They’ve been willing to work with her anxiety and have kept me in the loop on her progress.I did have a small complaint with grooming and the conversation was professional and well handled. I’ve ultimately decided not to use the grooming services here except for the nail care. That’s not going to take away from my rating as it’s a personal decision based off of preference.I will be leaving the area soon and really do hope to find a place as great as this place was for her.

Though the staff was very nice, my dog got kennel cough after only being there one time for 3 hours. I called to let them know, so hopefully they inform the other owners so their dogs don’t unknowingly spread it and so they can get antibiotics. I know it’s impossible to expect that this would never happen, but I feel like it would be better if they would actually require shot records from the vet instead of just the date of vaccination. Obviously, one or more of the dogs wasn’t vaccinated. I don’t blame the business, but I won’t be returning.Edit: Thank you for the response. However, Bear hasn’t been anywhere like a dog park or another kennel since he visited your facility. Again, I don’t blame you all. My dogs are my children and when I drop them off somewhere I want them to be protected. I actually specifically called about Kennel cough before dropping him off because I was scared, only to be told that it rarely occurs. I doubt there’s a request made for every dog’s vaccination records to their vet. I can’t imagine the time that would take your employees when the dog owner could just be asked to bring in records, so that doesn’t seem likely. Additionally, I doubt Bear was one of the first as our vet informed us that 3 other dogs had been seen that morning for kennel cough from boarding/daycare facilities. Additionally our vet advised us to not return, especially during busy times. I know things are going to spread regardless of what you do as a business, but I’m sure there’s ways to make it safer. I’m not angry, as I feel your staff is very caring and loves what they do. I am asking you to take more precautions as it absolutely kills me to see my best friend hacking up a lung all night and wondering if our ten year old basset will contract it. I do appreciate the well wishes.

Our dog loves this place. 😍😍😍 everyone is so friendly 😍😍😍 only down side is that the large dogs outside play area is to small/crowded for them. But he still goes to doggy daycare there. I trust them with my fur grandson 😁 prices are good plus they have the saltwater pool 😍😍😍 would absolutely recommend them.

We use Sam Russell's to keep our dog when we are out of town. They are fantastic. They go above and beyond. Sometimes I think our dog has a better vacation than we do.

Absolutely the best! I wish I could stay there all day too! I am a very picky and hard to please parent. I had a few issues the first day but nothing major. They handled my problem efficiently and professionally and zero problems after that. I work 6 days a week, 10 hours a day so to say my dog was there more than with me was an understatement. My dog was a little standoffish and unsocial to other dogs. After a few days he was a different dog. He really thrived at Sam Russell's. The staff is great and Debbie Howe the pack leader was a huge help with Redford.While you are there make sure you meet the real Sam Russell and feel how soft his ears are.....very sweet.

My dog loves going to Sam Russell's to play. If I'm going to be gone most of the day or he just needs to burn off some energy I take him here. It's really a nice place. It's designed with dogs in mind. Go and take a tour.

They always take great care of our Hank when we go out of town. It's nice to have such a great boarding place here in town. They also offer swim lesson for dogs. Our dog wouldn't cooperate lol but I would highly recommend
