Had an issue with a purchase but not with the gentleness of employee. Item did not match the ad. I was on my lunch break and felt pressed for time. They stated they would honor the ad price, I was not concerned about the faded dog house color but mentioned I needed it to solid. I was assured that it was and it was loaded by the employee. (Helped me) When I got home I realized it was broken on the bottom but the rain had started and I needed a dry place for 5 puppies. I cleaned it up and moved it out to the pasture. I called to tell management my dissatisfaction with the integrity of the dog house. The manager apologized asked for my name and address to make it right. I have waited 3 weeks and nothing was done. I am dissatisfied and would encourage purchasers to think twice. The item I bought off marketplace for less than half the price of this damaged item was in better shape. I would be cautious in purchasing items from the outside yard. I take ownership of just trusting the employee who in theory was being helpful. Encourage purchasers at this store to thoroughly inspect items even if they load it for you. It appears like a bait and switch situation and I way overpaid for the damaged item.

I have always had amazing experiences at Southern States. Had not been to Danville location before but needed a specific type of shavings they carry. Checked their hours online and said they were open until 1. Drove 35 min. to this store - got there a little after 12 o’clock only to find a piece of paper taped to the door stating their “Winter Hours” and that they close at 12 o’clock. Super frustrating as I needed these shavings this weekend and will now have to go to another store a buy shavings we hate using at our farm. This store needs to make sure their hours are accurate online. There is even a statement saying their hours were “confirmed three weeks ago” online when you look up their hours. This was another reason I felt confident I would have time to get to the store today. Two other cars pulled in behind me and left just as frustrated.

I was blown away by the customer service and how quickly the guys at the Danville Store got our propane tank filled up when it unexpectedly got down to 0% while I was away. And they did all this one day before Thanksgiving at that! A huge shout out to Tim Nichols for helping us in our desperate time and for Neal who delivered it and was so beyond helpful and the nicest person! I truly can’t even put into words how thankful I am for them helping so fast and getting us taken care of with smiles on their faces and in their voices the entire time! I also spoke with two others ( a lady and a man) that were also helpful but I didn’t catch their names. Just wanted you to know that they are SO SO appreciated and we will be back time and time again and shouting your name from the rooftops! Thanks again!
