I needed help doing a UPS return today and couldn’t figure it out for the life of me!!! The lady at Vanhooks ask if she could see my phone and did it all for me! Thank God for people like her! I am challenged when it comes to electronics sometimes. 5 🌟 for sure!!!

A helpful place to find what you need.. ask if they have it and it'll be brought to you.. beats walking around Walmart or lowes looking for 1 specific thing.. also they are great with lawn mower and chain saw repair

Old school hardware store with a little bit of everything. Service can be a bit surly (think Grumpy Old Men) and at first, it was off-putting, but I have grown to have a soft spot for Mr. Vanhook and I even got a smile a time or two! He’s very helpful if you ask. The building itself could use some attention. I shop here often.

I would not even give this place a rating of 1 if I didn't have to these are the rudest people I've ever seen in my life to be in business. If you take my advice I would ignore the reviews on here other than the ones put on here by Chuck Robinson and Chris bowling. I live in the area of the hardware store and I can tell you for a fact that these two men have hit the nail on the head about how rude these people really are take your money somewhere else you don't have to put up with that rude behavior to do business with someone. I don't know if the people that gave this place a good rating are friends or family or what take my advice there's no way people could give this place a good rating and be honest.

One of the worst stores around. The prices are higher than retail, the people are rude. There's one guy who is always condescending and smart mouthed. I finally had enough of him, and told him to give me back my chainsaw chain, and let me leave. He told me, No! He was trying to keep my property from me. I thought I was going to have to take it from him. Horrible place.

I’ve had to make many quick runs to this hardware store and the owners are always so helpful and will find anything I need for me. It is a very useful place to have in town!

This little store has wide variety of many items not like a department store like hardware, We've always what ever nut,bolt screw you would need, plus for the ladies there is a cloth store in with this store it is super nice. A great place to buy all kinds of material and sewing needs.

I visit my elderly mother in Cynthiana frequently and Van Hook is my go to place for supplies, parts, and tools for my maintenance tasks on her house. They are always friendly, helpful, and have what I need, or can tell me where to get it if they don’t. A good local hardware store is a priceless gem.

They have been Bainckes saving grace recently, especially when it came to having salt when the rest of the town was out! Great hardware shop and staff is always ready to help me find whatever I need because I’m typically lost when I walk in. Oh and I love to see the cat in the window when I’m walking into my apartment throughout the day🐈‍⬛

I was in a real jam with an old outdated plumbing fixture. The gentleman there actually fabricated a tool out of his own stock and literally saved my life as far as this problem was concerned.Theres no substitute for the voice of experience.Ill never go anywhere else.

There is nothing like a true small town hardware store. They are generally well stocked and carry a lot of items you wouldn't think you could find locally. The staff is always friendly, even if sometimes spread thin.

I think it's the best place to go for good old fashioned personal services!! There are very few places where you can get service like this anymore. Vanhooks, is one of the few things left that give me the down home feeling still. I hope they are around for a long time to come!! Thank you guys so much!!

Need a pry bar to remove tack strip from old carpet. They had just what I needed and it was made in the USA. Also the people running thr place are very nice.
