Great place, wonderful staff on duty. Second time there in a year with water front site. Easy access to water for kayaking. Hiking trail loop over by swim area was a plus, not clearly advertised....we will return. Third year visiting, thanks to Mark, John, Debbie & Karen for running a well kept campground. Great memories of our stay.

We love this campground! Mike, at the gate was very helpful and friendly. The campground was well maintained and clean. Bathrooms and showers immaculate. The place was almost booked solid on the weekends and it didn't feel crowded. We brought our 8 & 10 yo grandchildren and they loved it.. swimming was excellent.. We'll be back!

I love this little campground. Because of the shape of the lake and how the camping spots are laid out, most of the camp sites have views of the water. The campground was clean, quiet hours were observed, there was even an honor-system fruit & veggie stand where I got yummy tomatoes for my dinner. I was the only tent camper that I saw, but there were quite a number of campers for the middle of the week. The online registration was easy peasy.Restrooms: Restrooms were clean and well-lit.Dog-friendliness: I didn't have a dog with me, but many campers did. The dogs were out with their families enjoying the space, but there wasn't a lot of barking or noise, waste was picked up, and everyone seemed happy.

Very short trip to Mammoth cave (about 20 minutes via the ferry, which is free and quite fast). The campground itself seems to be a local favorite as well as it is next to a boat ramp day use area. Seems like most locals bring their travel trailer and boat for a weekend of fun. Everyone was very nice and respectful. Loops A and B have some but not all electric sites. My kids particularly liked the playground and swimming areas.

It's got a charm of rustic charm with modern conveniences for the RV, pop up and travel trailers. It's got incredible sites for tent camping. I'm almost jealous 😏. It's pet friendly, & they even let us put up a small pen inside our camp site for our little dogs πŸ€—Total thumbs up πŸ‘We'll be back πŸ˜‰

Camped at Dog Creek in a 44 foot motorhome. We stayed overnight and this was the plan. The four star rating has nothing to do with the campground or the staff itself. I has to do with the roads getting to the campground. The roads are narrow, very twisty/curvy and have no shoulder. The roads are frequented by logging semi's, dump trucks, and other large commercial vehicles. It makes for a very tight roadway. Are they impossible to safely travel to the campground? No! We made it but I wish they were a little wider with a small shoulder. The campground sites are better suited for smaller RV's. Site A014 is listed as 46 feet. The picture shows our RV in the site. It is a little longer than 46 feet as we parked our RV and our 2013 CRV in the site. In this site, we were not able to level the coach but for one night, it was alright. There were other sites available but as we arrived near dusk, we were done with driving. The campground staff were wonderful. The campgrounds are beautiful with great water views. If we had a smaller unit, we would return, but alas, we won't in our motorhome.

Quiet, clean campground. It’s near Mammoth Cave. Just a short drive across Houchin Ferry. Also, Detweilers Amish store is nearby and worth a visit. The campground is great for boat watching. Across the creek is a small ledge that is active with families jumping in. *update* The rock wall/edge that used to be active with boaters jumping into the lake is now residential owned and a no jumping/swimming sign is up.

A well-kept campground. Nice bathrooms. Large camping areas in C loop with room for tents and hammocks and space between. Some sites you could easily put in kayaks right from your site. They also have a boat ramp. There was no ice or firewood on site but the store was only 4 miles away.Verizon service: yesSprint servive: only on a cloudy day

First Star 🌟 This was the only place that would let me reserve the day of late in the night.Second Star 🌟 The price for what you get. Maybe even 2 stars. I think it was around $20 for electric and water hookupThird Star 🌟 The scenic views and the designated swimming area with life jackets easily available!!Fourth Star 🌟 was for Ranger Logan who helped us get a jump after we slept in our car and ran our battery down (past history tent camping in storms, a story for another day). He was amazing and knew everything there was to know about the area and the wildlife.Fifth Star 🌟 The Camp host that called someone to bring us some jumper cables because we didn't have any. The Camp Host was a Godsend and an amazing man that did what he could to help us ❀️❀️❀️❀️

We had a nice stay during the week. I could see where it could be very noisy on the weekends/holidays.

We had campsite A9 and in my opinion, it is the best campsite at the park. We have a 25 foot travel trailer and did not have to level. We had a beautiful view of the lake and were within 30 minutes of Mammoth Cave. The bathrooms had 1 shower and it was clean. It is a small campground and was quiet. It had a honor system produce stand. Which was nice! It had other things also, like jams and honey. Well maintained. The only issue I had, was, no internet service or TV signal.

Some jerk clogged all of the women's toilets in one evening and they had it fixed by 9am. They have an extensive variety of cider, jams, and condiments for sale in the firewood shed. My family loves it there.Playground: Several slides, some climbing equipment and, swings.Dog-friendliness: It's always nice to go camping with your doggo,πŸ• very dog friendly.

Nice size sites with sufficient green space. Easy access to the lake which is great for kayaking. Nice swimming area which would be great when the weather is warm. Nice clean showers with good pressure hot water. Probably my favorite campground so far.

I have been to many different campgrounds and this one is one of my favorites. I'm so sad that it's 2 hours away from me or I would come here more! I booked a site for a birthday trip for my cousin & mother and when we arrived staff was super friendly. When we arrived at our campsite someone had parked in it. We went to the office and she said she would find out who it was to move them, then my mom asked if we could just go to another campsite to save any conflict. She agreed and let pick from all the available sites! We got a way better site that fit our very large tent and car much better than the other site would. There was a woman cleaning the restroom who let me come in while she cleaned which was really nice. My only complaint was not on the staff but on the other campers, people were very loud and screaming well into the night and us sleeping in a tent we heard everything. That was frustrating. But I will definitely be back here after this awesome experience. Friendly staff and the campground is absolutely gorgeous. We had so much fun!

Have stayed there many times since the mid 1990's and it's one of my favorite core of engineer campgrounds in kentucky. Clean, friendly, on Nolin lake and boat ramp is very close to sites. Camp host is friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. Beach was clean, they have a fishing peer and courtesy dock. Can't wait to go back so I can explore the hiking trails. Just an all around nice place to spend some time with friends and family.

Loved this little campground. Bathrooms/showers were the cleanest we’ve seen. Many sites are right on the water. Nice rock base, level sites, and all the campsite amenities. The price is reasonable. Would definitely come back here!!

Love this lake and campground! We have been camping here for years. I am concerned about the changes and how it will affect the campground. I was very disappointed in the condition of the shower house.

Nice little COE campground! It's very clean and well maintained. Roads are paved, and the sites are pea gravel. Our site (A7) was a bit sloped, but I was able to level our Class A with just one board under the front jack. The place was pretty packed, but most are local families (according to our neighbor next door). That means it is nice and quiet, despite the number of people here. The dump station was incredibly clean and easy to access. The biggest surprise came in this morning's email... We had to take off a day early, so I figured we would just lose that last day's reservation. However, the awesome camp hosts credited back the $25 without me even asking for it. Wow!!! Great unexpected customer service! The only negative (if you can call it that) was the lack of cellular service anywhere within about 5 miles of this campground. However, I found it nice to just sit by the fire and read a book. If you have kids addicted to social media, they might need Methadone for the withdrawal. ;) I highly recommend this campground for a quiet, relaxing time away from distractions of everyday life.

It's very nice, the lake is excellent for kayaks ,it's a small park with a lot of class and a new playground, plus new picnic pavilion. Pretty clean ,the showers are warm, but the floor drain is a tad slow,be sure to have shower shoes that have a good sole with height. Park personnel was really nice and very helpful. Make sure you get food well before you arrive as there is only one small country store with limited food choices, gas prices were fine. They have some awesome tent sites even though we were not tenting this round,πŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ”οΈπŸ—ΊοΈπŸŽ‹

This is a lovely campground. We stayed in a water front site in B section. So peaceful and clean. We reserved online and it’s a piece of cake. We looked at the drawn map sites, than the actual photographs of the sites and finally we googled earth the ones we thought were best and we picked a great site. Not too far a drive from Bardstown. We were just feet from the water.

Beautiful, clean park! Almost all of the sites have views of the water. We were in C10 this weekend and it’s a gorgeous site right on the water! They called to check up on us before we got there because we were coming in late. Everyone was friendly and said hi or waved 10 out of 10 would recommend!

An amazing camp so quiet and peaceful, camps are spaced out great so we have plenty privacy! I was very pleased when we got to our site especially not being able to see everything before hand just a couple pictures. But our spot was shady and by the water. So it was πŸ‘

My favorite campground in the region. I use Dog Creek several times a year. The sights are all gravel pads, most are big enough for two large tents. All sites have fire rings with grilling grates, picnic tables and a cooking station. some sites are pull thru but most are back-in. The restrooms are usually clean (depending on the type of campers and occupancy) with showers. Restrooms are handicap accessible. For boaters, the boat ramp is within a few minutes walking distance from the farthest point in the campground.

Very noisy at night. In a tent you hear EVERYTHING. Boats all night long. Doors opening and closing all night long. Had a boat with lond music going every night we were here. Very busy. No shade. Talking all night too. Will not go back.
