I am incredibly grateful for Dr King. My lab was bit by a copperhead and the swelling was causing her to have a hard time breathing. I called Dr King and he met me at his office in the middle of the night. My regular vet never returned my calls.Dr King was thorough, friendly, and took great care of my Sophie girl. Wonderful, friendly, and understanding staff. Took good care of my Anatolian Pyrenees when I needed him fixed. They are very fairly priced not overly expensive like most places, I feel like they are really down to earth, and care about the animal as well as the owner. I highly recommend them, I tell all my friends about this place.

One star for the good thing: On a Sunday afternoon he was the only vet to answer the phone and to come to his office to check on our cat. Not another star more, because after checking for 15 minutes, he said he has no idea what it might be, gave us some meds and charged $ 430 (in words: four hundred and thirty) for that. Thank you, but no thank you again.

Worst vet I’ve ever been to. These reviews are fake. My dog broke her leg and they put the cast on the wrong leg which wasn’t even hurt😂 and then refused to refund me. My friend had a newborn dog and they swore it was over a year old. They are incompetent. Save your time and money and go to coffeys or anywhere else. This place is ran by troglodytes. And if you have a good experience, just know you for lucky.

My cat somehow cut herself open, I refused to take her to the last vet I had taken her to because of how they treated her during her spaying. She has never forgiven me and typically freaks out when I get her into the car until we found Red Barn.Freya can be very skittish of new people, and everyone else I called said it would be a month before they could see her. Note my cat had a huge hole In herself and while there was no blood you could see the insides of her and I am freaking out.I called red Barn and they where able to fit her in same day and get the wound cleaned up and her back home by the end of the day as happy as a clam. Ever since she hasn't been scared of car rides and there isn't anywhere else I will be taking her.Thank you guys so very much!

Very professional and kind. They dont try and push you to spend money on extras and services your pet doesnt need. Anytime my pets needed immediate care they always worked them in. I never had to wait long, just a few minutes each time. I'm on a fixed income so I really appreciate their attention to costs and doing only what is necessary for my pets good health

I am new to the area and very overprotective of my fur babies. Preciously, I did all their care natural. Recently, we had some unusual encounters leaving all 8 of my fur babies with reactions that I thought surely they were going tondie. Dr King has been amazing and so has his staff. We are not out of the woods yet but I am at so much peace Having him on our side!

Our main vet couldn't fit us in until the next day, so found the Red Barn. Had good reviews. Called them and luckily they could fit us in that afternoon. Turned out to be a big hot spot. Our thanks to the crew that helped me carry a 120 lb unconscious dog to the car.

This is THE WORST animal hospital I have EVER had the misfortune of dealing with in my entire 53 years of life!! They do not care about the well-being of animals it’s strictly about making as much money as they can. While I understand they are not running a charity I do not understand how ANYONE who supposedly loves and cares about animals would hold a dog, who has already been traumatized by being hit by a car, hostage until their ridiculously inflated bill is paid.I have had dogs and cats my whole life and lived in different states where I have used veterinary services from many different veterinarians.I have usually paid for 1/2 the treatment when picking up my animal and been allowed to make payment arrangements on the rest for any emergency treatment my dog or cat has needed.Not at Red Barn Animal Services! The only thing this place did was take an X-ray to see if my dog had broken any bones which she had not. The bill for this was $608 and they wouldn’t let me have my dog until it was paid in full. The bill also went up $15 for every day my dog was there and she was so sad when I had to keep leaving her there after I would visit.I’ve never seen a colder more uncaring veterinary clinic and wouldn’t bring a cockroach to them for treatment.Terrible place with terrible people!!After reading all the reviews I’m convinced this veterinary clinic either charges by sizing people up and figuring out if they can afford an inflated bill OR if they think your going to be a one time emergency visit they try to squeeze every penny they can out of you. How else would you explain an emergency house call to care for an animal (I think it was a goat) costing $125 but a single X-ray was $608?!! It makes no sense!

We use this business for all of our fur babies, cats and a Saint Bernard. Dr. King, wife, and office staff are friendly, caring, and reasonably priced. We have used for spay/neuter, check ups, nail trims, and boarding services. 100% recommended for any pet needs, they are awesome.

Best vet I have had since moving to Kentucky. Dr king has taken great care of my furbabies . The staff is very good, they go over everything with you . Dr king diagnosed a problem with my Yorkie, that no vet ever had. I am so thankful and blessed to have Dr king and staff for my furbabies.

Called at 4:30pm on Sunday Dr. King picks up on the second ring and has us in surgery by 5:40 and on our way home by 6:20. Surgery was to stitch up an eyelid not life threatening but his service and professionalism are top of the list. Thank you Dr King we will see you again!

When I got my kitten last year, I knew I would need to get her declawed, because I live in a rental and she was a scratcher. I was a new graduate, with only a year of teaching under my belt at the time, and could not afford an extremely expensive surgery. I called several places and Red Barn was not only affordable, but they also seemed so kind and caring. I love the staff there. They have always loved on my kitten when I board her. However, the vet, Dr. King, did not perform her declaw correctly. After getting second opinions from other vets, I know he did not go back far enough. She had the surgery in January and started growing deformed claws back, and the area was very tender and sensitive. I took her back and he worked on them again, only to have them grow back again. I did this a third time, and he didn’t work on all the ones that were growing back, only 2. She currently has at least 3 claws back. Her paws are tender to touch. This is a routine procedure and should not have resulted the way it did. And the third time, she was leaving a trail of blood on the floor when I got her home. He had only glued the wounds! No stitches. After getting a second opinion, I also learned it is normal to give antibiotics and pain medicine after the procedure, which my cat did not receive. Another vet gave her both and took her temperature (she had a fever). Her little paws were so swollen. I hate that I took her there because I’m afraid she will have lifelong pain now. And she still has claws.

We had an emergency goat issue last Sunday. We just moved to Adair county, and hadn’t found a vet yet. Talking to a neighbor, we was told to call a vet in Glasgow, that vet said it would be $500-$1000!! With that price, all I could Do was hang up and cry. My hubby called dr king on advice from another person. Dr king met us at the clinic at 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon , did a small procedure on our goat, and only charged $125!!!! He will ha e our business from now on. He seemed to be the type of vet that truely wants to help animals, not one that’s trying to get rich at the expense of suffering animals, and their owners! Truely what a vet should be

Giving one star because I got a cat spayed there and she came home fine. Other than that, they weren’t very helpful. If I hadn’t researched how to care for my cat, she probably would’ve already ripped herself open. The only information they gave me when I picked up my cat was to not bathe her for a week. Appreciative that they said I could call if I had questions, but when I call to see about a cone because I am worried about my cat they brushed me off and told me they had done 1,000 surgeries and never had problems but to call them if she had ripped herself open. I won’t be bringing any other animal of mine there.

This place is a joke. They spayed my dog from the shelter without doing any blood work or test. I was told my dog had diarrhea because of stress. When I took my dog to my vet because the diarrhea wouldn't stop I find out she was full of worms and had lost 10lbs. A proper vet would have tested and treated the dog first.

They don't notify owners before doing surgeries then tell you they'll put down your animal if you don't have the money to pay for the surgery. Will not do any payment plan. Felt extorted.
