Adair Animal Hospital takes great care of my dog Rocky and all my cats. Recently my cat Jasper got into a fight and had to stay in the hospital for a few days. The staff updated me constantly and even sent photos on the week-end! I highly recommend Adair Animal Hospital!

Words cannot express how thankful we are for the care provided by the entire staff at Adaiir County Animal Hospital. We were recommended to Dr. Terri Pettyjohn for follow-up care following an emergency situation with Koa. We are so appreciative of Dr. Pettyjohn's professional expertise and knowledge. She was very compassionate and thorough in explaining Koa's treatment and plan of care. She immediately notified us of lab, x-ray, and test results. We appreciate her further referral for cardiac testing for Koa. Dr. Pettijohn's staff Maddie, Nicole, Kayla, and everyone in the reception area (I apologize for not remembering everyone's name) were always exceptionally attentive, friendly, informative and professional. We were extremely impressed with the immediate follow-up by text and phone calls from the entire staff. Thanks to you all, Koa is well and healthy today, although he still remains spoiled and stubborn. You guys rock. We plan to continue Koa's future care with you all. Thank you again for all you do.

Adair County Animal Hospital is the best place to take your pet. The staff is friendly and truly cares about the health and happiness of your furry friend. My cat, Moo (Mushu), loves Dr. Rexroat and she has taken wonderful care of him. He’s 15 years old and still happy and healthy. She recently started him on a new medicine, Solensia, for his arthritis and he is a different cat now. He’s running and jumping like he used to do. If you have a cat with arthritis symptoms, please contact her. It has really helped him. They also have a wonderful lady, Velina, that grooms Moo. He is a Persian with very long fur, and she does a great job with him! I just can’t say enough good things about everyone at Adair County Animal Hospital. The entire staff is always available to help with whatever you need for your pet. I highly recommend them for all of your pet care needs.

I love everyone at Adair County Animal Hospital! They are so easy to get in touch with (I LOVE being able to talk and schedule via text) and they’ve always been able to see my cats very quickly when needed.I recently boarded my 4 cats for a week during the holidays and they were well-loved during my time away. I received updates every day and they even provided pictures for me when I asked. They were able to accommodate their 3x a day feeding schedule at no extra cost and made sure they had their blankets and toys. It was a super reasonable price for an entire week and I would happily board with them again.

This group took such good care of my mini dachshund puppy, Maggie Mae, as well as me. Being a new dog mom, I had a TON of questions and Dr. Pettyjohn and her assistants took time to answer and address each concern. They were very gentle and loving to Maggie and I enjoyed the office atmosphere as well.

My recently spayed cat had an infection in her incision site. I was able to take her as soon as they open and once we arrived, they treated her with so much care and love and she was able to get an emergency surgery. They also diagnose some other underlying health issues we did not know our cat had. They have been very informative and have answered all of the questions we’ve had regarding our cat’s health. After the surgery they have been in touch regarding my cat’s recovery which we appreciate so much. We are so grateful of all the care they’ve given to our cat Pretzel

Best (and cleanest) boarding facilities with staff that really cares for your pet. My babies always enjoy their time boarding here. I wouldn’t trust any where else with my pets. I love knowing they get extra love and pets while I’m away and have a doctor nearby should they need anything. ❤️

We have had a great experience so far with this animal hospital and boarding here. They have even been flexible and understanding with my schedule; sometimes it changes. Snoopy seems to like it too. He always comes home exhausted. The team seems genuinely invested in the care and compassion with the animals. The environment is very clean and the area they keep the animals in doesn’t smell like most kennels. There is a really nice play area outside for the dogs boarding there too. Snoopy will be back!

Believing our Capone had a small injury to his leg on Sunday, Dr. Rexroat was able to get us worked in on Monday. After a physical exam and X-ray, osteosarcoma was suspected. Dr. R was very thorough in our options. She was patient while my husband and I processed that are four-legged fella had cancer. Our questions were answered quickly via text, email and phone calls. We opted for amputation of the affected front left leg the following Friday. We are updated on Al Capone’s progress as he entered recovery. The veterinary assistants and technicians were phenomenal when we picked our boy at the end of the day. They were gentle and patient as we loaded him up to go home. Not an easy feat when Capone weighs 100 pounds. Late Saturday Capone started experiencing vomiting and became very lethargic. Dr. R was easily accessible by phone. We followed her recommendations however, the next day the vomiting still continued, and we were advised to bring him in. We were met by veterinary assistants and technicians. The issue was reduced to the pain medication that Capone was on. They quickly address that issue and provided him with fluids. After a two day, stay being rehydrated and cared for Capone was able to come back home. The staff was great allowing us to visit with him both days. He regained his appetite. He was drinking. His spirit was returning, and his mobility was incredible. We are hopeful that Al Capone will continue to improve and embrace his new title as the best tripawed in all the land. A huge thank you to Dr. Rexroat , Nicole, Jennifer, Emily, Heather, Kayla and Velina (sure I missed someone) for taking good care of Capone, being his champion and for giving us hope.

It took 11 long years but I finally found the perfect vet for my babies. One day out of the blue my weim couldn't walk he just started falling over - 2 different vets basically just guessed without any diagnostics so I frantically started searching Google and found this place. They squeezed me in the same day i contacted them. I'm so glad I did find them because they are amazing. They ran all the diagnostics and found several things wrong with him that other vets should have caught but they never ever run those type of blood work. My baby is anemic and has a tick disease and low thyroid (on top of his spinal issue he has going on ). We also started laser therapy and he's already starting to walk just a tad better in just the first 24 after treatment. Only regrets is I wish I had found them sooner.

My 14 year old Pom recently had a back injury and needed oral surgery. Adair county animal hospital got us in immediately and went out of their way to get my baby back in tip top shape. It was evident his health and quality care was priority. The care provided was equal to human grade healthcare. With my boys advanced age I am beyond grateful for this and the extensive care, supervision, and communication the staff provided during his surgery! Everyone was knowledgeable, professional, and patient. Thanks so much to everyone at Adair county hospital.

My wife and I have a "weekend property" in Adair County. Having pets we, of course, had to choose a vet for those trips down from Louisville. We are extremely pleased with the service we have received at ACHA. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The vet techs are thorough, professional, and friendly. Dr.'s Pettyjohn and Rexroat have been fantastic to work with, and take the time to listen to our questions/concerns and discuss the necessary medical care. There's no hesitancy in our recommendation for Adair County Animal Hospital. Thank you all for everything you've done for us and Peanut!

We left are dogs there for 10 days. After paying a bill for over 700.00. We had to drive with our windows down because our dogs smelled so bad. The blanket and their fur was covered in urine. At 60.00 a day they could have taken time to let them go outside to go to bathroom. Shameful! Shameful! …..unfortunately I have paid in full invoice and shot records…. Strange you don’t even know who your victims/customers are….

I chose the photo I did because it shows how wonderful the vets are at this hospital. They treated my ferret, ghost, with care and love. They made sure we knew what was going on with him throughout surgery and even explained everything to us step by step before hand as well as pricing. I trust them with my fur baby completely. They’re in my home town and even though I moved to Glasgow, I will continue to bring my ferret to them because I know he’ll always be cared for. Thank you all so much for everything. You eased my stress and worries.

I absolutely love Adair County Animal Hospital. Each pet is treated like family, and the attention to detail shows how much they believe this to be true. I have never had a bad experience there, and I know my way around vet clinics, since my pets are my children. Adamant lover of pets for 50-ish years! 😂 I was introduced to this clinic through a referral for laser therapy for my dog Jack, who had hip dysplasia, and unfortunately simultaneously, also had lymphoma. Dr. Rexroat was very cautious ( and read and re-read therapeutic manuals / did consultations with other vets ) to make sure she was following all the precautions for their state-of-the-art laser therapy ( hips ) for a dog that had cancer. She would not do anything that was not safe / effective / necessary. No stone was left unturned! My dog eventually passed away, but all measures were taken to ensure his complete care and comfort. He had a wonderful life, and a peaceful ending, thanks to the loving people at ACAH. I have always noticed the cleanliness and attention to detail at this facility. I’ve always felt comfortable leaving my babies there overnight, because they check on them constantly! Clean, quiet, and comfortable for pets. The grooming services are excellent… just let them know any specifics you have for your pets, and they will make it happen. My current Golden Retriever, Newt has his favorite ( calming ) girlfriend Emily who hugs as she bathes and grooms. 😂. I’m somewhat jealous! Ha! Kayla always reminds me of things… and thank goodness… because I am so busy, I lose track! Mindi keeps the ball rolling… she is one heck of a hard worker. Dr. Pettyjohn is such a great addition to the team. Becca’s attention to detail and backup of other staff endears me to her! Such sweet ladies and gents, I can’t name them all without writing a novel…. But I am truly thankful for them. Family now! You won’t regret going here… special treatment is their forte! ❤️🐾 . If you need a reference… I’ll be happy to talk to you! Thank God for this team, because… what is life without our dear animals?…

We took our toy poodle here after we noticed some complications arising from her spay at previous vet. They have been so accommodating, she required at 2 day stay. They have been wonderful about giving us updates on her condition and explaining her treatment plan. You can truly tell they care about all of their patients. The care Izzy has received so far has been amazing!

As a former employee and current client of Adair County Animal Hospital, I wholeheartedly vouch for their cleanliness and care for pets and people alike. American Animal Hospital Association accredits this hospital, and it is only one of less than 20 AAHA-accredited hospitals in the state. I stand by Drs. Rexroat, Pettyjohn, and Wilk for their incredible dedication to the people and pets of Adair County and surrounding counties. I also stand by the quality of care provided by the amazing staff of Adair County Animal Hospital, which strives for greatness from its longest tenure to its newest member.Pictured are my two cats, Ibis (left) and Jackal (right). Both of my cats are handled excellently by the doctors and staff of Adair County Animal Hospital, and I am proud to have Dr. Pettyjohn as my veterinarian for these two wonderful cats.

I had to call them after hours tonight. I spoke to a kind professional veterinarian who was very helpful. She told me exactly what I needed to do to deal with the crisis and told me to call her back if I needed to. She seemed to care about me and my pet.

Hands down, the best animal hospital ever! I took my cat, Sheldon, to ACAH to get his teeth extracted due to his severe stomatitis and had him laser declawed as well. They explained everything in detail before the surgeries and answered all my questions. All of the doctors and techs took amazing care of him during and after surgery. They made sure that his pain was managed the entire time. He isn’t in the best of health, which led to him having some complications, but they were all quick to react and gave him the care he needed to survive. He spent a night in their oxygen chamber and was ready to take home the next day. They all went above and beyond to make sure he was okay through the night and safe to take home. I would recommend ACAH to anyone who wants stellar care for their pets. I can’t thank them enough for taking wonderful care of Sheldon!

We were visiting from Ohio and our dog needed attention. From my first conversation with Kayla, to Jennifer the technician, and seeing Dr. Vasi, all were extremely professional, caring and thorough in their exam and ensuring we understood all the information and treatment. I would highly recommend Adair County Animal Hospital.
