We really enjoyed the visit. You can get through it all in just a couple of hours. Definitely buy the carrot sticks and bird seed sticks to feed the animals. The Canary experience was the favorite for us.Staff was so nice and helpful throughtout the day. There's a small playground with a few slides to play on. There's a splash pad and the creek to cool off on a hot day.

I really loved everything about this place except the animals that were kept inside with no exposure to grass, dirt, or sunshine. Specifically there were baby kangaroos in a tiny enclosure inside. I asked if they ever went out and was told they don’t. Even some of the outside animals were in enclosures with pet bedding and no access to grass.Everything was very clean and seemed to be well cared for. The staff I encountered were all very friendly. Overall it was a fun experience. I just ust can’t get over the animals living inside on concrete, especially the little roos.

Wendt’s Wildlife Adventure was a great trip while on vacation in Kentucky. The staff was amazing, there was a good variety of animals and activities, and plenty for the little ones to do.

The facility was really clean and well-kept. We came on a weekday morning, and it wasn’t overly crowded, so we were able to see everything without too much interaction with other guests. They have some very interesting animals, like sloths, African porcupines, kangaroos, camels, zebras, and exotic birds. There are a lot of goats, and sometimes the babies get out of the pen and roam around. They are adorable and really eager to devour anything that might be remotely edible. There is a bird encounter area where you can feed birds and they will land on you, and the kids had a blast with that. There is also a kangaroo enclosure. They have a little play area with slides, swings, and a train play set. There are picnic tables and clean, spacious bathrooms.Admission is free for age 2 and under, kids are $10, seniors and military $11, and adults $12. You can also buy animal feed for $3/serving. These prices add up quickly for a family, so be aware - also at the entrance, there’s a very well-appointed gift shop with lots of sugary treats and brightly colored things kids will ask for.If you really want to see a zebra, or a camel, or a sloth, or have a bird land on your hand, and you don’t mind paying for it, then I’d definitely recommend this place. Otherwise, you could go to a local orchard for cheaper.Orchards usually have petting zoos (the Wildlife Adventure is probably half goats, anyway) and the orchards’ playgrounds are much bigger. Since we live in Lexington, we will probably just go to the orchard next time we want to do an outdoor/livestock activity, because it’s closer and cheaper- but I am glad we experienced this!

What a great time we had here today! The parakeets were definitely the highlight but all the animals seemed happy and friendly and well cared for! Also, the handlers all seemed knowledgeable and answered all our questions. I was a bit bummed we didn’t get to see Otto the otter but hopefully the next visit! I was personally fascinated by the two toed sloths and literally watched one eat for a good 10 minutes lol! I highly recommend this place.. the grounds are beautiful, they have plenty of shade, the animals are awesome, and it’s just a great place to get outside with the family without completely breaking the bank.

Beautiful hidden treasure of a park. Lots to do at this animal park. Pack a lunch and hang out at the many places to chill for a bit. 10-12 bucks a person so very reasonable. Great place to take children, even small children. We went once last year and are taking our whole family next time. Big slides and swings for kids. Lots of fun for a few hours.Staff were excellent and very nice. The gift shop needs a warning because there's so much fun stuff to look at and so tempting. Great place for a nephew to spend a few birthday bucks.

It was wonderful! Very peaceful (except for the squawking macaws lol). I went mainly for the sloths, but loved seeing all the animals! Make sure to get some carrots and seed sticks before you go in. We got there about 11am. The sloths were awake so we were able to feed them. When we left at about 1:30, they were sleeping. It might be a good idea to bring a picnic lunch since they only have small snacks. Also, go to the parakeet encounter. The parakeets actually land on you to eat from the seed stick. Very fun! Highly recommend!!

What a hidden jewel! Well taken care of wild animals right here in KY. I was thrilled and surprised by all this little zoo had to offer. Very unpretentious and laid back, you guide yourself amongst the animals, interacting with the docile ones, turtles and small animals, and safely admiring the others up close but securely, reptiles and larger ones from camels to bison. Bravo to this jewel of the bluegrass. Easy for all ages, and abilities.

I am in love with this place. I was searching for a zoo like place closer to my house and just happened to come across Wendt's. It was definitely worth the drive and money for this experience. I enjoyed how it was small and very hands on. You can feed basically all of the animals. I had never fed or been that close to a zebra before. My boyfriend and I spent a few hours here but could have easily made a day of it. The animals appeared to be happy and we'll taken care of and the worker selling the tickets was very friendly. This would be a great trip for anyone looking for a zoo or just petting zoo and we will definitely be back.

What a nice place for the family to come! So many neat animals, caring staff, and opportunities to interact with the animals. They have sloths!! And porcupines!! Adorable. And you can buy carrots there in a cup to feed them! The parakeet hut is awesome too. Such a neat place here in Kentucky. Pricing very affordable. Highly recommend.

This was a pleasant surprise out in the country. About 15 minutes from Mt Sterling.Feeding the camels, I believe, was a highlight for me. However everything was quite entertaining. They also had porcupines! Big ones too. I guess I've never seen one in person but they were adorable as well.I highly recommend taking a trip but spend as much time as you can with each animal, it's not that big of a place so make sure you get your money's worth.

Just opened a couple days ago, so they were still getting signage up and putting fencing together, but this place has so much potential. It's a nice location with interesting animals...some that you can feed. Plus it's a beautiful drive from Lex. Great day trip on a sunny Saturday!

Just happened to come across this place out for a Saturday drive, and it was well worth it. You gotta try out the room full of birds, it was so neat having them fly past you and land on you too... I've already recommended several people to go there and can't wait to go back myself.

Found this online and the sign with the hanging sloth pulled me in. My son's girlfriend loves sloths and my son loves all kinds of animals, so I thought this would be a great college graduation gift for them. I wasn't wrong. It is NOT just for families with young children. We were all adults and LOVED our day there! Our memories of feeding the sloths, seeing the baby sloth and goats, feeding the parakeets, and my husband getting to play some fun percussion with a guest guitarist during the Memorial Day celebration are so very special for all of us. Before we left, we were all talking about a return trip. This is a sweet gem in Central Kentucky.

Bought the season pass and have been a couple times already! Love talking to the workers and learning so much about the animals there! Even get a chance to feed plenty of the animals as well! Great place for the family or anyone wanting to get out for some fun for the day!

Very clean but for the money we spent for 2 adults and 2 children which was about $65 with 2 cups of carrots. I was expecting more, they had alot of animals but the only real interaction you have is with the camels or everyday animals like the goats and parrots. As far as everything else like the sloths and things you couldn't even pet them. It's a nice place for only being open 3 yrs just think there should be more for kids. We were able to go through the whole place in about a hour.
