Cracker barrel is an old reliable for us, a place where--no matter your location--you can find comfort food. It rarely lets me down. Actually, I can't think of having a less than pretty great experience at one across the country.Unfortunately, yesterday broke that record. This was just not the standard I'm accustomed to at cracker barrel. To be fair, it was not a bad experience. Just not great. Overall, the food was a little under the normal standard, and in the sake of transparency, we ate at a cracker barrel in Pennsylvania the day before...i.e., we were very recently refreshed on that usual quality.I said overall, and that's correct for most of the food. It was mostly okay, just not great. The exceptions were the chicken fried steak which was as delicious as always, and the pinto beans which were literally inedible.Everyone that we encountered on staff seemed...off, unhappy or upset or something along those lines. We actually wondered if something bad may have happened recently. I hope all is well and wanted to throw that in as a possible reason for them having an off day.

Stopped at this Cracker Barrel a number times on our travel over the years. This one measures up to the the rest on the same level. After a long days drive we stop only for the food not the shopping. The food was prepared and served as we expected. Place was short staffed so it was not serving up the capacity. It seems most establishments have short staffing issues. However this did not affect us getting in quickly which was nice. Will stop again in the future as they have always met expectations.

After my last visit, I vowed that I would not return to Cracker Barrel. I am still waiting for a response from the corporate office 5 months later from my last complaint. The only reason I went is I won a gift card for Cracker Barrel from work. The food was horrible, never got a refil on my water, asked to speak with a manager, but after 15 minutes of waiting we just left. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CRACKER BARREL!

Excellent service and the food was delicious as well. Seated promptly. Love the take home meals for $5 too. Great value!Parking: Nice to allow campers to overnight too.

The Grandpa's breakfast was absolutely delicious. I recommend the country fried chicken as the meat. Cooked to crispy perfection. Our server was very pleasant and skilled at what she does. Our order was taken immediately but it did take a while to receive. Not terribly long, but long enough to make you wonder if there was a problem. The chicken was very freshly cooked, so that was probably the wait time. All in all, a very good experience at this location in Calvert City Ky.

We arrived before the main crowd. Waited for almost 10 mins to have someone acknowledge our presence and take our drink order. We ordered food at the same time. 35 mins later, we inquired about our food status from someone clearing a table because we hadn't seen our waitress this whole time. We found out our food order was not in the system. 45 minutes for nothing. Would not recommend going here.

It felt like they just wanted everybody out of there. The waitress was ok but the food took about 45 minutes to come out and part of our order was never brought out. When the food that did come out it was like it was leftovers from the day. The chicken was ok but the dumplings i ordered as a side was literally only the soupy part with literally 1 dumplin the size of a nickel in it. The hamburger steak was so tough it just got left on the plate. NOT a good experience. Wasted an opportunity to take a break and enjoy a meal. Very disappointed. Spent a fortune on 6 meals only to leave it all on the table and walk away hungry.

1. a birthday cake was brought to my 88 year old mom before our food arrived2. We had to keep reminded our waitress to bring drinks etc There were four of us having a birthday celebration & all of our food was cold & i got the bottom of the pinto beans. (hard & dry)grilled chicken tenders were sent back & my sister in law did not get the replacement until we were leaving.very disappointed with everything because my mom choose this restaurant to celebrate.

After 7 tries in 3 states in 1 week we finally got food to eat, however we were getting ready to walk out just as it arrived. Service was poor though friendly. Food was mediocre at best. Standard menu dishes were ordered. We did get seated right away but took 20 minutes to get our drinks, another 15 minutes to place an order, and another 25 minutes to get the food. Glad there was sugar on the table as mine was tanking and I lose my appetite when that happens. Let's just say, we're over Cracker Barrel.

I ordered a House Salad and a Loaded Baked Potato. The salad itself was fine but I couldn’t eat because the dill pickle ranch tasted like tartar sauce. The potato was very cold. The butter could not melt and the green onions on the top of the potato appeared wilted and old. I sent all of it back to the kitchen. I was not charged for my food.

My server was full of smiles and more than willing to go above and beyond. Food was ok. I had the cheesecake stuffed pancakes. It left me still searching to fulfill my sweet tooth desires. I have higher standards for Cracker Barrel. I sat for 10 mins, with my food in front of me, with no eating utensils. Of which, i get it, it was busy and my waitee was almost running everywhere. BUT, the manager walked directly by me 3 TIMES as she was marking empty and occupied tables on her chart. Im pretty disappointed that we almost brushed shoulders, as i sat there, so many times and she ddnt notice i wasnt even eating. I will give them another shot bc i understand that there are always unseen variables and "off" days but i can not recommend this place yet.**the strawberry mimosa is pretty darn good though.

Waitress was rude and paid attention to my husband and ignored me completely except for me saying my order. He got refill of his drink and I got nothing. How’s your food, he would say ok and she would walk off. Went to the bathroom, 3 stalls and 2 out of toilet paper. I had to help a woman with some who ended up there too. I spoke to the manager and he had no spine! “Ok. Uh huh. Ok”. I walked off after telling him my complaint and left (yes we paid! And we will never go back!) she’s lucky she got a tip at all.

Food was on par, and as you would expect from Cracker Barrel, my only complaint would be that it came to the table like warm. Not sure why, but it wasn't hot, as in cooled enough that the gravy was starting to form a skin on my county fried steak. The saving grace was our server. She was fantastic and went out of her way to take care of my wife's requests! She got a good tip!

I should start off by saying if I could leave negative stars I would. We visited Cracker Barrel on March 27th and the service from our waitress was amazing however we waited over 40 minutes for our food and our order was split into three different checks resulting in half of our table getting food first and about 15 minutes later the other half of the table received there food. Our food was cold and was undercooked. I ordered a steak at medium rare and received a steak that was rare as rare could be. My brother and sister in law also ordered steaks to be at medium well, they received steaks that where medium rare. I am a type 1 diabetic so I had already given myself insulin before this meal began and with everything not the way it should be my sugar began to drop. I asked for the manager and she began saying that the cooks where new, which if you where hired to be a cook you should know how to cook this shouldn't be an excuse; she had just clocked in and doesn't know what is going on, again not my problem you should have better management of your establishment; she said her mother was a type 1 diabetic and that she understands, she does not understand how your blood sugar affects you; we then asked her how she was going to fix this and she stated she didn't look at the bill so she doesn't know, regardless of how much our food costs you need to be able to fix our experience by giving better food and faster service so our food isn't cold. She had a horrible attitude and didn't know how to manage a restaurant properly. We did however receive new food and the steaks where cooked properly but the food was rotten and made my brother puke after eating one bite of the steak. Needless to say never again will I eat at this restaurant and cracker barrel needs to find new management and cooks for this establishment.

Pancakes are getting smaller and smaller…my three wouldn’t have made one big one. On top of that, they tasted like they’d been cooked where other foods had been cooked and it was not a good taste. I know the last one tasted like onion! The eggs were good and two of the three bacon strips were done to perfection…the third wasn’t done and while I don’t mind chewy bacon even this wasn’t done enough. I literally couldn’t wait to leave and I love C-B!

Had dinner and breakfast here, the food was average, breakfast was great (pancakes, biscuit Benny and impossible sausage), dinner was sub-par for vegetarian options. Tim and Jordyn were excellent servers (always had a full coffee!) Anstasiia was a friendly and welcoming hostess too. They all deserve raises.The restrooms on the other hand needed a lot of attention.Vegetarian options: CB is our go to breakfast on a road trip because of the impossible sausage option

Not one of their better nights. Our server was not very attentive at all and once we found out what the special was we were told it was supposed to be “promoted” so we passed. Once we ordered our drinks that took over 15 mins to get. He then proceeded to let us know another 20 mins later when he brought us our meal; that they had a lot of people walk out that night; so there were only two in the kitchen so things were moving slowly and they forgot to put our appetizers down and they were doing so then. We had to ask for our $5 meal to go, that we ordered at the beginning of the meal. Honestly worst visit we have ever had at this location. Throughly disappointed, but hopefully it was just a bad day for them & not bad management.

I really hate to be the person to leave reviews, because I understand the work shortage and the stress among restaurant and retail workers these days.However, today, I ordered Grandma’s Sampler, which is something I enjoy to get almost every time at any Cracker Barrel location. But unfortunately, time my food just wasn’t enjoyable. I had to cut into my sausage with a knife (and was burnt and a little cold), the ham had a weird smell and taste, and the eggs were a little underwhelming. Again, I do understand the work shortage and the stress, but it just seemed like no effort was put into making any of the food. It also seemed like it was just sitting in a window since breakfast time. (We dined here in the evening).I would like to comment to say that our waiter was very attentive. He checked up on us often and never seemed annoyed at our requests for things. Every server there seemed to have a positive attitude, which is always nice to see, but again, I was just too underwhelmed with the food I received and the attitudes of some of the other workers.

Nice Cracker Barrel. Be instantly aware of how to get to it though! Must drive through the gas station and McDonalds parking lots to get to it! Clean restaurant, friendly staff. Food served fresh and hot. Menu has changed. Portions are smaller. Country store was well stocked with cute gift items as usual!
